  • While cleaning my blades I took apart the full blade assembly however when I put it back together it was loud and would not cut hair. The issues was not too obvious but after trial and error I figured it out. Thought I would share for those who may have had or still have this problem. I hope it helps.

I am so grateful for humans like you that take the time to do these kinds of videos. I was trying to treat my razor right by taking it apart to clean thoroughly and when I put it back together, I got the same loud, jangling story as everyone else. The worst part was it cut a little bit of my hair,, so I was looking pretty fudged up. I started breaking a sweat trying multiple ways to put that damn thing back together. Finally broke down to see if anyone posted a solution and finding your video was a huge relief! The key was totally getting the other blade underneath the clip and your video made that clear. Thanks a lot!

This guy is an unselfish hero.
Figuring this stuff out and posting it on youtube saved many people both money and time. Also helped save unnecessary waste. Can't believe this stuff isn't in the so called manual. Wahl should pay this guy money and put the video up on their homepage. It would be great customer service and save them from angry reviews.

I was freaking out after cleaning my clipper because I couldn't figure out why it wasn't cutting. If it wasn't for this video where I was able to see that the larger blade must be held by the clip I would never have guessed it. Thank you very much Kurt for uploading this. Yes, you are right, they should have included those instructions in the book, but they obviously don't want us fixing it. They also lied in the book on how to replace the battery. You can't just simply lift the back up to replace the battery. There are 4 screws that they don't tell you about. So I made a video on how to replace the battery, as it won't be long before you will have to replace it. My battery is already shot.

The assembly Trick is(Struggle to force the square end of the spring "on to the large blade" carefully maintain a steady hold while manuvering both attached blades now skillfully clipping the spiral 2 ends into the plastic foundation. If you get this far, your on your way to the final stage. Final stage is,, all 3 parts together so screws line-up, and pin back in the 2 screws. Finally tighten and manuvering to the motor clipper pin and skillfully snap back in. I too am greatfull for the video.
If it be done again ""slower"" you will have a full proof teaching solution.
      Again! Thanks, it worked😊

Perfect. That fixed my problem. For those of you who didn't "see" the fix, the top blade needs to be inserted into the clip of the bottom blade. It's a bit difficult to pull up but that keeps the blades tight to each other.

Genius. The magic is at 0:55 and another thing that helped to reduce vibration was to press down on the metal retaining clips on the clippers themselves to hold the whole thing tighter.

So I removed the head to clean it and I broke a small piece of the black plastic that clicks and holds the whole top part on the machine…I reached out to WAHL and they agreed to replace the entire top part of the machine..I just got it package right now..I came here to see how to click it on as I’m having. Trouble doing it…when I spoke to the agent they thought that I had said that I tired to do what you are doing at the beginning..disassembly of the top piece…they mentioned that I shouldn’t do it because this was done by robot/machine…just thought I’d share with you guys…but I had always heard of people doing it …but I mm not going to take my chances…nice video mate …

I couldn’t figure out why it was so loud when I reassembled it. It’s because I didn’t clip the pieces together like you show here! Thanks!

After an adventurous clean after my first cut I had this exact problem - this worked like a charm!

Absolutely Brilliant! Like many others, I had taken mine apart for cleaning and when I put it back together...that same horrible sound. I must have spent two hours or more tinkering with it and couldn't figure it out. As soon as you pointed out that the clip holds both blades, I could see the scrape marks on the larger blade where the clip had been previously. That worked like a charm! Thank you so much for posting this video!!!

Life saver mate. Probs wasn't the best thing for me to take it apart the day before my holiday on a Saturday night but you saved the day.
