  • Elder Tu'imoala and Elder Masima sing the Tongan hymn "Folafola Mai a Sisu". These Elders were serving in the Peninsula 4th Samoan Branch in Santa Clara, California when this was filmed on June 11, 2015.
"Folafola Mai a Sisu" or "Thus Sayeth the Lord"
    Written by Tevita Tuliakiono, 1870-1935
    Tongan Lyrics:
    Folofola mai 'a Sisu,
    Ke mou fou 'iate Au,
Ko ia te ne kumi hala
    Loi mo e kaka.
    Chorus
    Fou ('a mamani) 'ai (Honokotoa)
'I he ('a mamani) folofola (he folofola)
    'A mamahi hono kotoa
    'I he folofola
    Kumi honau ngaahi fua,
    Si'i kaugnaue 'a e 'Otua,
    'Oku tatau hono hala
    Mo e folofola.
    (Chorus)
    Koe 'akau 'oku fua,
    Kosipeli 'a e 'Otua,
    'Oku ta'efa'a liua
    Hono ngaahi hala.
    (Chorus)
    ---
    English Translation:
    Jesus sayeth
    "Come through me"
Those that seeketh (their own) ways
    Are liars and hypocrites
    Chorus
The world is whole through the scripture.
The world is whole through the scripture.
    Find their fruits.
God’s ways are the same as the scriptures.
    (Chorus)
The tree is bringing forth fruit,
    The Gospel/Good News of God.
His ways never change or lead us astray.
    (Chorus)

Thanks for posting the lyrics. Idk why people like to debate about their knowledge of Jesus Christ. We can sing together this song and lift Jesus Christ

I'm a member of (LDS), even though that I don't know the Tongan language, which definitely means I'm not a Tongan but the song reaches me inside and also feel the presence of GOD around. good work boys, love it.

I served in Brisbane Australia and spent a transfer in a Tongan branch. Couldn't understand a word they said, but their hymns were overwhelmingly powerful!

Beautiful. The translation was good too. The chorus translation I would interpret to mean Come the whole world, follow the scriptures. The whole world follow the scriptures. Enjoyed the video and it reminded of an American Elder Patele serving in the tongan program in Auckland NZ who loved this song.

I don’t mean to be rude to all you Lds members, but this song should not be sang by your religion because the Gospel is referring to the Bible only, not the four books together with the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine & covenants & pearl of great price. Plus your God is not of the Holy Bible. Thank the Lord above for opening my eyes! My son had come to me he was only 12 yrs old at the time, when a priesthood holder taught there class and told then from youth that they can become Gods in the after life themselves if they be obedient to the laws & ordinances to the church! I approached this Priesthood holder and asked him if it was true he had my son and all the boys in the class that they can become a God themselves? And he answered it’s true, and started quoting Joseph Smith & his visions he had. Straight away The fear of God in me knew right away that this church was full of it! Because when I started quoting him on the bible if he knew in the Holy Bible in Mathew 22:29-30 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. And in Isaiah 43:10
10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. He had no idea what I was going about, then he questions me wether really is that written in the Bible? All I know is this anyone on this earth that comes unto Christ and Believes in Jesus Christ by faith not by works, because if you could earn yourself by doing works that Jesus Christ died in vain then. Also shows in Romans 4:5
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Not by your articles of faith 1:3 3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. You guys are brain washed by Joseph Smith & all your Prophets thinking they have some sort of Power or can communicate from God to us for guidance when in John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    • @JacobStark7
      @JacobStark7 Před 5 lety +6

Carol, no worries-- you aren't rude at all! We are all brothers and sisters, and I totally get where you are coming from. I am a convert to the LDS Church, and understand how odd it can sound. We do believe in eternal marriage, and we do believe that we should be trying our best to become like our Savior, Jesus Christ. And there are a number of beautiful promises in the New Testament, which is why people say we are becoming like gods.
But even if we disagree on these points, I hope you feel comfortable sharing. We are all in this life together, and hopefully trying each day to follow the example of Jesus Christ. So thank you for your thoughts, and hope you have a wonderful evening!

I have thought about your quote from Isaiah, these things the lord was referring to the people worshipping false gods of idles at the time, I would refer you to genesis where god the father talking to god the lord saying after Adam ate the fruit, the man has become as one of us knowing good from evil genesis 3:2, please let me know what you think.

@Israel Leqa - o iko na tamata boci mo kila tiko ya. I'm sure your father wasnt a fool
to have you all grow up in the gospel. Lives have been blessed because
of your mother and fathers sacrifices and that is a fact. But go on
laugh about the prophet Joseph Smith and if you're looking for some bad
      about him you'll find it.
