7:08 they are walking across because obviously its failed and there is no other train coming and the alarm and lights are only going because one of the barriers failed to raise but still I agree they shouldn't when they are trying to fix it
The red road lights won’t go off until all 4 barriers are in the air. All the cars that crossed before all were raised were committing a road traffic offence because the red lights were still on. Failing to raise is usually either a fault with the bushes, the motor contact for that pedestal or the motor pack itself.
Wow only ever known barmouth to do this about 9 years ago but that barrier raised once the other 3 had. This was much longer. But wasnt as bad of a malfunction as this
I don't know why but in lowestoft the bascule bridge barriers all go down instead of left on each side and then right. Also I don't know the alarm it uses.
What's the use of a train getting stuck because they didn't get the barriers fully opened signal? I know most of the things in the railway-industry have a solid purpose, but this sounds a bit odd to me as a Dutchman...
Are you on about when the trains stops when the Barriers arnt raised its a TMOB Train Man Operated Barriers when the train passes and the Barriers raised there's a signal that says BU Stands for Barriers Up if its off they have to go back and raise it and if they can't they just leave it
@@JPLCUK Ah ok, we don't have such crossings anymore as far as I know in The Netherlands. Than it makes a lot more sense (although I would expect this to be sorted by other personnel instead of delaying the train...)
5:18 Barrier fails to raise
25:09 Hangman
9:47 rare squance & Hangman
33:12 Hangman
lincoln central did that sequence
Lincoln high street yes
@@JPLCUK Fabe filmed it
@@alfie9694 yes I've seen it
Nice Crossing and Video!!👍🏻😁 Strange what happened out there with the barrier failing to raise, but at least it’s back to normal near the end.
A real classic. A comedy of errors.
Always when this happens, call the phone service to tell the signal box people about the issue.
Very good, very niiiiice!
This is why the old wooden gate barriers were better as they had no problems like that

That's what I was on about because if they need to lower it for a test there all in the way
Best video of the week for me!
That happened at my local LC (Bulwell Forest) today. Couldn’t get it on camera though. Went through the same things as Barmouth South

I’d say that’s a malfunction maybe even a major malfunction
26:50 (ish) All they had to do was just leave the barrier that failed to raise down, lower the others down and then raise them again
6:52 van went though
Wow only ever known barmouth to do this about 9 years ago but that barrier raised once the other 3 had. This was much longer. But wasnt as bad of a malfunction as this
30:03 What the heck was that high pitched horn
Thats just a normal 158 high horn lol. It reminds me of the old cartoons when someone pinches a clowns nose lol. Idk why they are like that tho
@@CadenWASD it was different to the high pitched horn. Nvm

How strange
Idk who named them wigwags but the barrier failing is weird. Moter failure?
Also at 28:58 was that a waltzer in the background
I think the lights are broken. Why is it turning off and on weird and strange
Did you mean sequance not squance?

Can anyone explain the exact meaning of the term hangman not a term I’ve really heard then again level crossings aren’t my area really
It means the barriers hang in mid air
3:46 - 27:15 malfunction
What is a "rare squance"?
Took almost half an hour
Took an hour
What’s a squance?
I think he meant sequence
Yeh he did mean sequence
He made a spelling mistake
@LevelCrossingsUK no I was ment to put squance because its what we call it nowadays
