Lol, I thought today was going to be great. Had high expectations. Refuge been closed since the 23rd for holidays and freeze. Opened back up today. 74 hunters showed up for 21 blinds and drew last. Needless to say, I'm watching CZcams at home and not hunting...

Whack and stack. I’m here in CA hunting Colusa and the hunting West of the Sacramento River has been horrible. Today was finally a good day. Foggy and the birds appeared. 6 teal, 3 widgeon, 1 canvasback, 1 shoveler. Lost a teal and peppered some snows. Not complaining 🤙.

I would be too, if someone invited me out to hunt and they took all the easy shots. Leaving me with 1 bird while he has 4, it’s kinda fucked up. If you ever invite someone out to hunt you have to let them shoot some birds.

its been the same way here in arkansas, between there being no ducks here and all the out of state hunters that come here to hunt, its been hard on the locals. we do a lot of green timber hunting and at the boat ramp yesterday there was 15 trucks lined up at 1 ramp.
When you invited someone to hunt, you are supposed to give them the first and closest shot. If he/she missed it, you can oblige to shoot it. Also take the longest shot, not him or her. Let him/her have a couple of birds in the bag first.

I have a feeling that he won't say and asking that question may get you in trouble with some people. Best thing to do is look at the Kansas dnr page. They most likely have a map of the public marshes

No, actually, you can't until you get home. Each hunter shoots his own ducks, the law says. After the hunt you can gift a game bird to someone - but not before. Now, whether that is strictly enforced among friends when no C.O. is around...
