Okay but Jerma doing a stream that is basically Knightmare and he's dressed up as a grody lookin goblin while chat try to control someone else, that'd be an incredible stream idea
Just let jerma host and take creative control of a show like fort boyard/the crystal maze

haven't laughed like that in ages man that part was fantastic
The wall demon yelling at the kids to hurry up because he was actively suffocating live on set absolutely sent me.
Knightmare is basicly when you have a really really good DM.....but terrible players
Admittedly, I'm not expecting amazing play if I'm DMing for kids that young. Also I'd at least play fucking music. The sheer lack of Background Music for the game was so fucking jarring.
Yeah, got the most entertainment from it despite the kids fucking up. The corn one was a close second.
This show was always frustrating to watch...
The concept of the game is very fun, but the execution is super weird…
DM? Doom players??? Please just spell the word out, your spelled out everything else.
Knightmare was oddly charming. I loved how the team failed and the dungeon master was like "btw your friend died and you will explain it to his parents"
The dungeon master did a really good job. It seems like he was having a lot of fun with it too.
i love even more how this is literally only like 2 words off from what he actually says, i swear "don't worry, you won't have to explain his (disappearance? death?) to his parents" is something said verbatim, though i'm just paraphrasing and too lazy to actually check.
14:31 I was crying at that actor struggling to breath in that hole-less mask
“10 years of pain I’ve endured.”
I can tell! 😂
This is such a great original concept that Benny came up with all on his own. Some of my favorite parts were the blatant farming propaganda and the man choking with a sock over his head
WHEN I SAW THE WHEEL I CLAAAAPED!!!
Binky is so creative!!
Almost like you scrolled through the whole thing cause you missed SEVERAL moments sweetheart
@@whiteydiamond all I said was those were some of my favorite moments. Doesn't mean I didn't like others?
@@whiteydiamondI would say there were like, I mean, at least like 12 moments he skipped. Like, what the hell man?
Of course those knightmare kids were miserable, there were four of them and they were just told their gameshow prize was "their friend gets to say he's a squire".
That “FSSHHHHH” sound the wall kept making as he tried to breathe through the sheet put me in tears. It gradually became louder as he slowly suffocated.
Had to love people in chat being all "Gosh, British people are SO WEIRD" while watching Knightmare only for their country to deliver us genuine corn propaganda in the very next segment.
I agree, cornrade.
corn is life

You want real American weirdness, watch US ads about lawyers/medicine. I hope if Vinny does this again, he gets ambulance chaser ads.
This failed pilot made me retroactively appreciate Raven- and that's saying something
The awkward silence in knightmare is killing me
Vinny nailed it with "a little music would help", its like so low energy and the kids look like theire being forced to do it
"YOU'RE FAILING, CHILDREN!"
I honestly appreciate how lacklustre it is in the audio department. I don't need sound effects or music to be blaring every 0.2 seconds as if it was a TikTok video.
But trust me when I say that the kids weren't forced to be there. It was mad popular.
What a hack fraud.
@@blobbem Ye! I agree. When the content is good or interesting at least, you don't need to flood the audio and video with overstimulation.
@@blobbem I mean it could at least have some background ambience for the spooky dungeon, but I believe you on the kids wanting to be there, I can see myself loving that as a kid, but it feels off as a adult

Vinny: Chat, where am I?

Wait, spellcasting...S-P-I-I-I-N-N!
That corn propaganda was wild. “They’re healthy and the machines don’t hurt them and it’s really important to grow lots of corn😉”
They don't need to make documentaries like this any more because they found out that people finding out the secrets of the industry doesn't actually put many people off
Even tho your body doesn't really process corn so it's literally a waste eating wise.
@@JacobKinsley So many people are ignorant or in denial about Animal Farming, wtf are you on??
@@aturchomicz821I know basically everything there is to know about the farming industry because I’ve seen so many documentaries about them, ones that talk about the good of them AND the bad of them. And I personally don’t really care that much, I dislike it that the animals are sometimes treated pretty badly but at the same time I like meat, so it’s not keeping me awake at night
that bit was *definitely* written by a field of corn
That farming commercial made me feel way more guilty about eating meat than anything PETA has ever produced.
Yeah it was really bumming me out and Vin was being a real downer about it, soon as he said those chickies will just be nuggets soon anyway it ruined my morning lol

There's actually another wall monster in the early episodes of the show called Granitas (pronounced like Granite-Arse) and would often insist that his name wasn't amusing.
Also regarding the Limmy Comparisons, Adventure Call was inspired by this show. Jingle the Jester (aka kill jester) was inspired by the Jester characters Folly and Motley, and also an infamous helper character seen in later years of the show called Pickle (YES, REALLY) and Limmy hated the character so much, that it inspired him to do the skit.
Regarding Knightmare as a whole though, the show was a HUGE hit in the UK, ran from 1987-1994. It was infamously hard, only resulting in 8 winners overall out of over 80 contestants (and the prize for winning was merely a trophy, btw) The first series is pretty rough, and suffers from early installment weirdness (notably in the pacing), later series did try to make pacing better and do more to keep things exciting for the viewer, series 2 has the team pull a lever to choose their starting room, players were given a quest-item to obtain for immersioin's sake (and later series had them actually bring the item back with them too), and the series antagonist (at least in the first 4 series) Mogdred became more involved, as despite being credited in Series 1 as well as mentioned by Merlin (and meant to be merlin's alter-ego), NEVER APPEARED. Series 4 introduced The Eye Shield which reduced a lot of the frustrations of navigating out of rooms (but came with problems of taking away interaction for the team, with lots of pre-recorded footage to sit through as they travelled to the next location). It's a lot of fun just laughing at the teams who make misplays at times, though it was also very exciting watching a Winning Quest as you can tell the teams often put their best into it, most notable example would probably be the first ever winner, Mark's team in Series 2 Ep 4+5
Also, a bonus. The show was so popular that SEGA sponsored French and Spanish Adaptations (yes, really) called Le Chevalier Du Labyrinthe & El Rescate Del Talisman, which used the show's scenes and blinded contestant format, but changed up the format in some ways (ie implementing a Lives System, where if the dungeoneer died, an advisor would take their place instead) and they could win Sega consoles and games. An american adaptation was proposed, with a Pilot made, however it was rejected for technical reasons at the time (stated to be NTSC Format problems). Tim Child also wasn't happy at having to adapt it into a 1-team-per-episode format like the French and Spanish Versions.
For a funny bonus, probably the funniest and most infamous fail in the entire show's run:

Thank you for all that information! Really interesting!
That's actually extremely cool and makes how painful this episode was to watch a bit more palatable. Thanks!
Lovely to see all the comments of people discovering Knightmare through this segment. Haven't really thought about it since that one off youtube reboot (which I'm now reading was way back in 2013 💀). Thanks for all the information!

One of those bumper stickers in the Corn video reads as "No thanks Iraq, I buy ethanol!".
That alone shows you what year the video was made.
Vinny just watching random shit is absolutely my favorite segment. I hope and pray he either checks out the airplane video from RLM's Wheel of the Worst 5, or some of the Hard Hat Harry edutainment videos about trains or firetrucks and stuff like that. I grew up with those and I love them despite their 90's home media budget.
I can't remember the name, but there was a PSA for electricity safety. Retroactively I realized but you hear Pizza Tower screams in it at one point. I remember watching it in class and crying with laughter as an unseen man was fried to death. Really hope it gets added if anyone knows the name of it.
That corn one was like if you told chatgpt to write you a documentary about corn
it's even got the complete and utter exclusion of any evidence of violence or mishandling in factory farming that ai would most certainly exclude
@@disposable_income_andy The issue of cruelty and mishandling in agriculture, particularly animal agriculture, is a deeply concerning topic warranting examination from ethical, legal, and animal science perspectives. I can shed some light on the multifaceted nature of this problem.
First, the use of factory farms and concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) has been criticized for creating environments in which animals are unable to express natural behaviors. Lack of enrichment, limited space, and stressful human interactions are some factors that lead to poor welfare states. Tail docking, debeaking, and castration without anesthesia are examples of surgical interventions that are often criticized. These procedures are sometimes defended as necessary for the animal's health or safety, but they raise ethical concerns.
Secondly, there are economic drivers that perpetuate these conditions. Many agricultural systems prioritize cost-efficiency over animal welfare, leading to compromised living conditions and mishandling.
Governments and organizations have sought to address these concerns through regulations like the Animal Welfare Act or various farm assurance schemes. However, these measures often vary in their effectiveness and coverage, leaving gaps in the system.
One of the most effective ways to address this issue is to leverage consumer pressure. More informed consumers demanding ethically produced meat and dairy products can help shift the market in favor of animal welfare.
In Europe, the "Five Freedoms" framework has been adopted as a standard for assessing animal welfare. This framework suggests that animals should have freedom from hunger and thirst, discomfort, pain, injury, or disease, as well as the freedom to express natural behaviors and be free from fear and distress.
That nightmare show may be kinda boring but imagine it from the kids perspective I'd have loved to play a live action game of D&D with my bros. Bet they had fun.
It was apparently a huge hit. 112 episodes over 8 "series" (not sure if that's the UK version of seasons or not) and ran from 87-94.
Knightmare was huge in the UK. Basically every Gen X/older Millennial remembers watching this as a kid

@@AndorianBlues I've never been to the UK but I remember seeing it as a kid.

That is what a series is in the U.K. yes.
It leads me to wonder what they call an entire show, because "show" can refer to a single episode.
As someone currently struggling with weed himself, Vinny's speech at 1:05:00 about addiction made me genuinely cry. Weed isn't as bad as alcoholism or more extreme drugs, sure; but it's still a major issue that I deal with. It's been affecting my work and worsening my mental state and depression to the point where I can't even do anything and waste my days just being stoned, with my trips sometimes giving me more mental breakdowns and episodes than euphoria and relaxing times.
This gives me motivation to keep going, to overcome my addiction. Sometimes I'm even afraid to say much about it because some folks think weed as non-addictive or brush it off; but honestly, Vinny helps me keep going and continue to make an effort.
Thank you so much, Binyot, for helping me and giving me motivation to beat my addiction issues all because of an inspirational speech after an ugly troll goblin puppet anti-drug video.
Weed can definitely be addictive especially if it's a habit you have to break, on top of how hard it is to stop already. It can be done, though 💜 Don't be too hard on yourself and just take everything one step at a time

When Vinny said Knightmare was on the Wheel. I thought it was gonna be that VHS board game "Nightmare".
