Do you purchase cheap parts for your BMW or prefer to only buy OEM? Reply and let me know!
I prefer cheap genuine BMW parts
Yeah that’s probably the best case scenario. There’s something addictive about buying Ali Express and EBay parts! Anything pefromance, I won’t stinge out on though
Badge and light upgrade is a win! I don't have a BMW but keen to see how I can black out some badges and upgrade some lights on my forester. Loving the quality content 👌
Thanks! I reckon a blacked out Forrester badge would look sick
great vids I'm a fan.
Thanks! I'm glad to hear. Have you done any of the mods on your own car yet?
Looks great.
Thanks! Some people may prefer the badge-less look but I like the blacked out badges. Now to decide whether I touch the BMW logo?
I bought one of those blacked-out 3rd tail lights for mine. Don't tighten the retaining nuts too much. After a couple of months with all the vibrations from driving and the tension from the springs holding it in, the glue let go around the edge and half of it fell out and the other half was pulled into the boot lid. Had to glue it back together with better glue and it's been solid for about 6 months.
Yes I thought that might be the cause of the original cracked light. It essentially exploded into multiple pieces haha. I only hand tightened it (compared to it previously being almost viced on). Hopefully it holds tight!
Dream car! One day i will hopefully get one
Keep at it and i'm sure you will get there! :)
I alway liked the clean no badges look. Just needs a new carbon fibre or black rear diffuser.
Yes, definitely agree re: the rear diffuser. Carbon would be awesome! My only consideration is whether I go for a quad exhaust. But if I do go for a quad exhaust, I probably want to do it properly with the 1M style battery relocation (which is all a lot of work haha!)
Another great vid man, thanks for making the content!
Where did you get the carbon spoiler from? There's a lot on eBay, not sure which is a quality reseller. Cheers!
Thanks! I appreciate the encouragement. The spoiler was on the car when I bought it, so I don’t have the exact supplier unfortunately. Best way to tell quality with online suppliers is to read their reviews and check for feedback. Try this one and let me know how you go ebay.us/fw20kh - I may be able to make a spoiler/boot video in the future. I was thinking of looking into a full carbon ducktail boot but we shall see!
@@ElliottBrooks the full carbon ducktale boot lid will not line up perfectly on the right side corner where it meets the back window. This will need body work to fix.
Just an idea at the moment. Do you know of any options that do lineup properly? I’m okay with non-ducktail, but would like a built in lip/spoiler rathe than add on
@@BMWEiMSport Is carbon the factor or is the duck bill the factor? Carbon isn't essential, as it'd end up painted. But yeah, I need to do a little more research - have you done it on your car?
@@ElliottBrooks carbon, aluminium or other it all depends on the quality of the mold they use
Do your reverse led bulbs strobe on startup? Common issue I’ve seen and I’m wondering if yours did, if so did you code em out? Sweet video 👍🏼
Yes, I think there is a minor strobe from the bulb check voltage but I have the coding software so will fix it up :)
Didn’t even notice until later
what headlights are those i try to find them everywhere i cant find them can you help me
I built them myself. Check out my channel there is a video with all the details
Tip: tape of the gap in the third brake light. As it rains or when you power wash your car, this will let water in and corrode the individual led lights. The centre ones are the first to go. Just some electrical tape and tape of the big centre gap and the twoo smaller ones in the centre at the deep end. Ask me how I know…..
This is a great tip! I actually started doing this to my car recently, once I noticed, but probably should’ve had the tape on permanently. If not, just buy the $30 rear light and follow my DIY :-P
@@ElliottBrooks Not sure you understood what I meant when I read your reply. The brake light unit itself has gaps in the plastic. You can look into the light fixture and see the led strip. This gap needs to be taped before you install the light unit into the car.
@@BMWEiMSport oh right you mean like a gasket. Yes, it’s not the best design. Which side did you add the tape in from? I imagine the tightness of the springs is meant to be enough, but it does really need a gasket. Maybe even double sided tape around the edge?
@@ElliottBrooks not like a gasket. The unit you inserted, the black light unit, it itself has a huge rectangle cut out on the top. That is what you need to seal off.
@@BMWEiMSport Oh right, yes to fit through the little metal notch. Makes sense!
