    Thank you! My F-150 is a 2004, in great shape, and has 194,000 miles on it. I bought it about 8 years ago from my father-in-law. My fuel filter had never been changed, so I knew it was way past time! You did a great job explaining what to do. I followed your directions, and it took me about 10 minutes from start to finish. I did not have to do anything with the switch, so it was really easy. It's running like a champ, now! I appreciate it!

    Good video, the goggles are a nice touch. Another thing you could do to reduce the fuel spillage after shutting of the fuel pump is removing the gas cap to let the tank depressurize.

      Usually you just need to remove the fuse to fuel pump then start the vehicle until it stalls out. Then you should be okay

  • @georgeh5419
    @georgeh5419 Před 2 lety +4

    MAKE SURE YOU PUSH THE BUTTON IN ON THE FUSE thing (5HQBY) AFTER YOU RECONNECT IT, AND AFTER IT TRIPS FROM THE AIR IN THE LINE. It goes in about 2/3 of an inch. (the last part shown in the video)
    Truck kept turning over and not starting, had me stumped. Pushed the button on top, felt it click, and vroom.
    And don't use starting fluid when you're stumped.

  • @ericleighton7565

    A much easier way to depressurize the fuel system is to simply unplug the pump driver module above the rear axle, start the truck, let it die (from having no fuel), and boom no pressure. Only have to unclip one wiring connection without tearing things apart.

    • @thomasblake7046
      @thomasblake7046 Před 10 měsíci

      Yes, then just start the engine and let it run until it dies. No more pressure. Or you can just let it sit overnight to completely cool down, unscrew the gas cap and after a few minutes it'll be depressurized. No need to do all that other stuff unless you're working on a warm or just ran engine.
