    Universal would be missing out on big money by not making this new area themed to Zelda. You already have Mario World at Epic Universe, why not expand the Nintendo IP’s at Orlando and build Zelda here? Heck, the Simpsons contract expires in a few years or so - that area could be re-themed to Pokemon!

      That makes sense, Diagon Alley was opened at USF in order to bring back the attendance due to the WWOHP being in nearby Islands of Adventure. Since Nintendo properties at Epic Universe will be entirely Mario, it make sense to balance things out by replacing the LC with the Zelda-themed area.

    I feel like Universal is on full gas mode. I look forward to my visits in 2025/2026 and they’re doing so much work they really wanna make sure attendance grows and not just diverges to Epic Universe when it opens. It seems like come 2025/2026 they’ll be something new for everyone at all parts to keep all of the relevant

  • @puddlejumper8466

    The earliest this replacement could open is 2026, and while that seems too far into the future to close this attraction, it really depends on the scale of this supposed Zelda land. If it's on the same level of quality as the Mushroom Kingdom (and I guess Kong Country by extension), then they might need 3 years to make it. Nintendo has done really well in the parks and the Mario movie is breaking records, so it makes sense that Universal wants to get more in bed with Nintendo.
    Besides LOTR & Zelda, I've also heard people mention Harry Potter extension. While I think that *could* work, I think in the long run Zelda will be better received and help the park more.
    As for the sudden closure, I heard that there were rumors that the plumbing in Poseidon's Fury is all kinds of messed up, and maybe Universal only recently decided to throw in the towel.

    This "ride" has always been problematic. It's seems to be "broken" a LOT and is a waste of valuable real estate. I've been to Universal over 20 times and it seems like it's always closed due to various issues. I'm curious to see what they replace it with, because the area can't be a kids attraction as it doesn't fit with that land, so I'm hoping for an "adult" focused land. Zelda ride could fit in with Mythos restaurant and the rest of the area.

    It's a shame seeing Islands of Adventure slowly lose the original theme of the park (everything being based on written works), and it would be sad to see the Lost Continent truly become lost, but that's just business, I guess. I'd rather LotR replace it, but I can see Zelda being pretty cool as well.

    • @RednekGamurz
      @RednekGamurz Před rokem +1

      @@liamlennon3316 That was the original intention for Islands. All of the original lands for the park fit this theme, as well as Harry Potter (even if it and Jurassic Park are moreso based on the films than their books). Kong was the first to break it, but that was also just a single ride and a mini land. Jurassic World Velocicoaster is also iffy, but it's roots are still tied to the original book, and again, it's just a single ride. If there was a Zelda land that was a full-blown land with multiple rides, that would be a true end to the original theme of the park in my mind. And again, a Zelda land could be cool, I'd just rather LotR since that better fits the park, though I understand why you'd want to spread the Nintendo properties across different parks.

    Universal has a lot of decisions to make in the next 5-10 years with IOA's opening day attractions. JP river adventure and all of Seuss landing could use a full upgrade at some point. Some major sprucing up. There's good bones in both of these lands. And does the quirky Marvel contract get reworked in the next decade? Will be interesting for sure. In the meantime Lost Continent is some valuable space worthy of a new exciting themed land.

    • @xviper2k

Disney buys back the rights for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and the land goes through 3 yrs of demoltion or Disney asks for an increase in the licensing fees, which Comcast will say 😅😅😅. I actually would like to Suess get some love... but there is sooo much going on. In order of opening: 1) KidsZone 2) HHN Las Vegas 3) EU 4) HP expansion in old Sinbad theater 5) Universal Texas in 2026 per incentives 6) Creature from the Black Lagoon expansion @ EU 7) Replacement of Simpsons with FnF Land announcement 8) EU hotels #2 9) JW Marriott @ EU 10) Volcano Bay expansion 😊

    1st let me say I am not super familiar with Zelda so personally I would not be excited for that IP. I believe there are better options. I am almost certain this will be a Harry Potter extension. This IP is a juggernaut! Hogsmeade is almost always overcrowded and the lines for butterbeer can be ridiculous. I don't think construction will start for some time. Those buildings are pretty huge and a demoltion project would take time. I think they going try and reuse most of thr infrastructure. Perhaps they can split the land in two pieces. Use the old Sinbad theater for an HP show with a quick service option and and Fury for a Universal original concept... maybe an Atlantis themed family coaster?

    • @Pop_Candyz
      @Pop_Candyz Před rokem +2

      But how much bigger can you even make Hogsmeade? It's already decently large (Although the walkway is too thin imo) and there's not much else they can add. I don't think they could do a forbidden forest area because that's already in a ride. And supposedly the Ministry of Magic is going to Epic Universe. But I'm not a huge fan of Zelda either, so I hope it's themed around something else, or maybe the land can just stay the same, as I personally love it.

The Sinbad theater can be re done into a new theater show to eat up large crowds and throw in a quick service food option because there is only one place to eat at the Leaky Cauldron. Probably have to take down the store also. Right now the train station seems disconnected from Hogsmeade. This way it will be inside and more integrated.
