  • Blog Post: dbbaudio.com/20... With all of the 600MHz changes, I have been doing a lot of RF Coordination over the last few months. So I wanted to make a quick video on how I approach it using the RF Explorer, Touchstone Pro, and Shure Wireless Workbench 6.

    Honestly had to watch this in parts and just take the first steps in trying rf coordination at our church's new location and I appreciate the format and detail of this video so much! God bless you!

    The free software works well, but may not have all the features used here.
    As of Nov 2019, folks are finding that WWB is not up to date with the repack changes.

    Hey Drew! Great video by the way. Quick question everyone, I just purchased Touchstone Pro and plugged the Rf Explorer into my laptop but the start button is greyed out? Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Or am I doing something wrong? When I first started the application, it all worked fine! Thanks guys

    Great video! The only thing i'm confused on is how you connected the RF explorer to the antenna combiner to run that as a scan. I would love to hear back from you on this one.

    • @DrewBrashler
      @DrewBrashler  Před 5 lety

      You'll want to purchase a SMA to BNC adapter and then you can use the BNC cable to connect into the combiner.

    how do you import a WWB .csv into sennheiser WSM to then get that to upload into networked units?

  • @bjarkenielsen8515

    Excellent info! I have two questions.... ;-)
    I use Sennheiser gear but find Shure Wireless Workbench 6.0 easier to use than Sennheiser WSM.
    Do you know of a way to use a Sennheiser EW300 receiver as the scanner for Wireless Workbench 6.0? (I don't have Shure products)
    If not, what kind of mobile scanner are you using? (I would prefer cheaper brands)
    Best regards...

    Hello Drew, I'm very interested in fixing the feedback we're having with our wireless microphones using the Behringer X32. I'm new to this console and just getting to get into the logistic of this console. Just finish watching this it's seems like there were a lot of procedure to get the frequency done right by the steps you were showing. Anyway, you mention at the end of this video about wanting to learn more about getting a clearer frequency from your mics. You mention World Gain, or World Game, I'm not sure which one or I'm I saying it right or not. Could you send me a link to find what you're talking about? Look on CZcams, and couldn't find what I'm looking for. Could use your help.
    Why I'm here? Here's the problem. As I mention we have the Behringer X32, and we're having problems with the wireless mics when a singer is singing or talking the mics goes in and out while they are performing in front of our congregation. this also, happens if they move to different areas and while the pastor is preaching a sermon. A tech told my pastor that we need to move the transistors to the mics that have two antenna up higher in the booth we have. After watching this video about wireless mics and how to get a clear signal without interference would help to understand the problems we're having and how to fix it. But I could use some more help in this area. Hope to hear from you ASAP. Thank you

    Great Stuff Drew
    Have bought the RF Explorer and about to buy Touchstone Pro.
    A question on the scan: Do I need to keep a spacing buffer before my first frequency and after my last frequency before I run the scan?
    For my example, I'm running a bunch of mics whose bandwidth starts from 518 and goes up to 596 MHz.

    • @proclaimav4197
      @proclaimav4197 Před 5 lety +1

      I always add a buffer zone, can't hurt and lets me know if something is just outside my mic range that could cause issues.

      A much larger range, if you are scanning in workbench, you are limited to the range of that receiver.

    Drew, providentially the zip code you typed into WWB is my own (85032). I'm having trouble importing RF Explorer .csv files into WWB. Can you refer a tutorial that explains step-by-step how to save a RF Explorer .csv file so that it is accepted into WWB?

      Are you setting it to the Wireless Work Bench format when exporting? Be default, Touchstone Pro exports as a Professional Wireless IAS csv, so make sure that you change that to Shure wireless workbench csv before saving. Hopefully that helps!

    is there any other possibility to get an overvieuw of the frequencies in the building than to use a spectrum analyser ?because those things are expensive man. can you messure the spectrum with your laptop ? or is their an other way ?

    • @conorm2524
      @conorm2524 Před 6 lety

      You can use any receiver to scan whatever bandwidth the device allows. Exporting that data into WWB6 varies with devices.

    Hi Drew, I'm finding that I have a bit of a mix bag of products to work with there. Wireless workbench doesn't have the Sennheiser G4 stuff in the their inventory. trying to coordinate the G4 mics with PSM300 IEMS's. any tips?

    • @proclaimav4197
      @proclaimav4197 Před 5 lety

      You should be able to use the Sennheiser G3 settings, just make sure the band is right. G3 and G4 use the same freqs. and modulation.
