    do you have any antenna solution for digital systems that work at 2.4ghz .. i have 4 sennheiser ewd1 and am having many problems.
    I found this antenna model for shure GLX-D microphones (GLX-D PA-805Z2 RSMA - Shure)
    would it be possible to use these antennas in the sennheiser ewd1 system?
    I do not know what to do to solve these problems anymore
    thank you

    Hey Peter, I have the PSC RF Multi paired with 6 lectro 411's 3 blk 21, and 3 blk 25, with ALP620's. I get poor strength going passive, without using amp power but I feel like I'm way too close when I have it on. I get better signal with the standard whips.
    I also understand the PSC RF multi is NOT filtered so it is subjected to easier interference with things on set like walkies, tera dek, etc.
    I heard the Audio Wireless Ltd DADM266 might solve these problems. Have you had a comparison between the two and have any thoughts?

    Nice video! Is it possible to take a receiver that has only one sma antenna and split the signal into an A and B distribution system connected to a RF venue that has both a shark fin and a dipole?

      You would need to have your Sennheiser receivers modified to use SMA antennas. Then you can connect the antenna distribution to the SMA connectors on your receivers. Here is more information: www.allistairjohnson.com/mods

      Renaud Bonneville that's right!

  • @francescobrillante3452

    You mentioned at least 3 or 4 receivers to be used with an external antenna, but if course i may want to use it also with 1 receiver, for instance an ucr411. What is the real benefit with only one receiver with external m directional antenna. Of course without any rf distro.

    • @njh209
      @njh209 Před 4 lety +2

      A single directional antenna used with a single receiver like the UCR411 would work similarly to using that same antenna powered distribution. The directional antenna would give you a better antenna, that can hopefully be placed in a better spot above or around obstacles / people, and would give you additional gain in the direction it is facing. Just make sure the antenna you are using is passive since the 411 doesn't have bias power.

      @@njh209 MAny antennas on market are active, can I easily exclude the amp and use it as passive?

    • @njh209
      @njh209 Před 4 lety

      @@francescobrillante3452 it depends on the antenna. Some active antennas will default to being passive if there is no power applied some will not. Passive antennas are less expensive so I recommend those as a starter.

    24:35 Curious, when you say: set the antenna's gain to overcome the losses of cable length/splitters. Are we basing the needed make-up gain by visually watching and working-up the receivers Rf indicators to 100%? Would that be an over-simplification or accurate gauge?

    • @PeterSchneider1
      @PeterSchneider1 Před 6 lety +1

      Not an oversimplification at all, but doing it that way can unnecessarily increase noise in the system. Ideally the amplifier at the antenna should be set to overcome the losses of the system downstream (ie between the amp and the receiver, including cable and splitter). These figures are knowable - there are tables online and spec sheets for the splitter.

    Hello . Thank you for the great review ! as always a blast to watch ! I use the dadm 226 and audio wireless true diversity units. 2 audio wireless units and those go out to 2 bnc antennas . the units tend to function fine but once i am out of direct line of sight the signal goes down sout. i still havent fixed this issue .... i am really interested in the betso sharkie - will one antenna work with 2 receivers ? and how do i get both receivers connected to the antenna ?

My workflow is as planned, Get my 411's or SRc's antennas wired up to a PSC distro box (BNC to SMA cables), that outputs to 2 BNC cables attached to two new Besto fins or Lectro SNA's. Then my T4 will be rigged up to a Besto or SNA with a direct cable. A total of 3 fins/antennas. Does this make sense Nick? Thank you for your time.

      You might actually be too close thereby overloading your receiver. If your antenna has a pad, try turning the sensitivity down.

    • @nickhuston4510
      @nickhuston4510 Před 6 lety

      You would need to have your G3 antenna modified to SMA. Then you could either hook an antenna directly into it or if you have multiple systems use any of the distribution systems mentioned in the video with an external antenna.
