    Good point in how the VA rates you depending on how many symptoms you have instead of how severe your symptoms are. That point just made me realize I was underrated for my PTSD.

    Feel sorry for American Veterans your VA is such a watered down government organisation, if you serve your country you should be looked after. Anxiety is one symptom for PTSD, I'm blown away this is treated as a new discussion topic considering we have just come out of the longest war in history. Looks like VA are tip toeing on this one.

    I want to increase my rating for anxiety. I have a 50% rating right now. I got hit with GAD. but I get panic attacks alot and its making school really hard. I have to leave the classroom and hide in the bathroom cause I think I'm having a heart attack and am about to die. some days I'm so exhausted or feel so "wrong" that I can't leave the house. How am I supposed to get, keep, and hold a job like this? I think I'm screwed. I tried setting up an appointment with the VA for therapy but got the run around and I don't really trust the va past the paycheck. the doctors just throw drugs at you and hope you will commit suicide so you arent a problem anymore.

      @RobertLeeland, We're sorry to hear you have been going through a hard time. If you are seeking to file for an increased rating, we recommend working with a Veteran Service Organization(VSO), such as our colleagues at the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). They can be reached at )859)441-7300

      @tboy221 Před 3 lety +2

      dude, if you really do have an anxiety disorder and suffer from panic attacks then why would you refuse treatment? why would you not seek help from a mental health provider va or not? why not get counseling? you claim to have been suffering from this but yet you dont want help other than money. money isnt going to cure your anxiety disorder. if you are anxious because you dont have money then thats not the va's fault. ive never met someone with a mental disorder say they dont want help for their disorder and i have been in a lot of psychiatric facilities and behavioral health groups.

    Hello my appeal was denied for PTSD agoraphobia anxiety depression and panic attacks I have 2 current diagnoses one from my VA doctor and one from when I went to my C & P exam the examiner's diagnosis was the same as my doctor's so I also had that in my favor but the reviewer of my claims said I didn't have a extended treatment history even though I was in a VA program for my disability so I wanted to know can your firm represent me and file a higher level review for me.

    What you guys need too focus on. Is the sudden stop after giving you pills for let’s say say a decade. And now the v.a days no mas. File a class action suit. I can do it on my own. But imagine all the veterans stuffed with benzos for years and now the v.a stops. It? I can’t get anxiety medication anymore without taking a piss test.

    Va steps benzodiazepines ???? Thats the treatment for ptsd. My husband has been on benzodiazepines for 25 years. For service connected ptsd. It should be noted that suicide rates and killings are now on the rise. How dare the VA deny veterans this medication? I now wonder how many suicides and killings are NOT being reported..? It is obvious the VA is unaware of the harm they are causing. Typical of the way the VA operates. My husband has all the signs and symptoms you have discussed. Shame on the VA. This is malpractice!!

      i will never take benzos. i have schizoaffective disorder depressive type. and along with other symptoms. i will never take benzos because i know they are addictive and i refuse to do anything addictive. i was once addicted to caffeine and it pissed me off so i quit cold turkey. had severe headaches for a month. i started smoking cigs and after 2 years of that i quit cold turkey. the cravings made me want one and i flat out refused my body and the shakes, cravings, anything that said smoke again. i hardly ever drink alcohol. when i was in the marines i drank only on new years night celebration. if my dr tried to give me benzos i would tell him i do not want them. one time i got drunk when i was a teen and lost motor functions and i hated not being in control of my body. i hated not having control of my body.

      someone who says they are suicidal with no proof they are are doing it for the money. people who have attempted will get noticed and sent to the hospital, if you really are suicidal you will end up in the hospital on a hold. even if it takes a decent period of time before you end up in the hospital, or you have sucessfully attempted suicide. people who screams the loudest that dont think they need help or want to lose their rights seemingly shows they can manage their lives. every vet that ended up in a psychiatric hospital or ward inpatient against their will are receiving benefits without judgement, for in a psychiatric hospital or ward you are observed, taking medication for your symptoms, and you talk to the psychiatrist about your diagnosis.

So yes. You need a nexus and a lawyer.

    why do veterans have the highest rate of psychological disabilities? you didnt have a mental disorder while in the service. when i went to the navy hospital balboa psych ward i didnt see many mental patients there. when i went to my behavioral health appointments i didnt see many mental patients there. but yet most are trying to claim depression and anxiety. disorders. do you have intrusive thoughts? do you constantly worry about non existant things? anxiety is unwarranted worrying. most of you all admit you dont seek help for your mental disorders and dont want medications for them either. im not saying that your disorder isnt real. im just saying that how can you prove you have the disorder if you dont even seek treatment for said illness. half of you are trying to correlate a mental disorder to something as if you are a doctor. if you have the disorder go to a doctor and let the doctor make that connection. im not talking out of my ass either. i was reevaluated at 100% in 3 months without a lawyer using the va system. sure you can get copies of your records but without current records all you have are how you used to be like. the va reevaluates people after a period to see if the condition still exists and still effects you the same.
