Duayne and Amelia go on a tour of the Durra Panel factory with the Managing Director Derek Layfield as their tour guide.
From humble beginnings as a thermal insulator in Sweden, to some of the biggest commercial projects in the country, these panels have been 8 decades in the making. The panels are made entirely from straw and are a fantastic sustainable material for any building or construction projects.

Derek's looking well. So glad the curved roof idea appears to be history now. It's an amazing product is all I can say and so happy to have been a small part in it's journey to the present. Still push it's use as an idea for those in need of solutions. Hoping the law-makers of this country of ours approves hemp as a harvestable cover crop to boost the soil for the later sowing of wheat.

I am really interested in this product. I had gone down the hempcrete idea, but with such a lack of hemp hurd available this looks like a great idea.
Funnily enough I got a link for this product through soundproofing for musical spaces.

If it could be made into a thinner panel the cabinetry industry might be all over it
It would just need a veneer
