I spent waaaayyyyy too much on an LP by RUDIMENTARY PENI called "Pope Adrian 37th Psychristiatric". But it not only completed my RP vinyl catalog, it was sealed and near mint so it was virtually impossible for me to walk away from.
Nice! I just got an OG Death Church. Missing the insert but NM.
Another insanely expensive punk/hardcore record is Streets of Filth by Mental Abuse. Last sold for almost $600 on Discogs in January 2020, was for sale for $1000 at one point a few years back.
This. 25- 30 years ago in the south Jersey/Philly area it wasn't rare to see one in one of the local record stores. There was a point when Sid Sludge was just giving these away too Lol. It wasnt until the very late 90s early 2000s that "collectors" started grabbing them up. It's crazy to think about it but prior to that it wasnt super uncommon to see old misfits singles for next to nothing either. I try not to think about all the old records I got rid of for peanuts when they started re-releasing stuff on CD or when I needed money. So many things got lost in moves, lent out, stolen etc. It's terrible to think about it.🙄
It has never come out on cd. Not sure why.
I am proud to say that I own the vinyl since originally from New Jersey. Right place, right time.
That RKL record is a good one to include, even Euro copies are pricey!
Samhain has been my favourite band for over 30 years. I finally bit the bullet and bought a first US pressing of November Coming Fire. It is in perfect condition that includes the lyric/photo sheet. I got very lucky and only paid £140 for it from a UK seller. I've seen copies in really crap condition go for twice that amount.
I'm a huge Misfits, Samhain and Danzig fan too. The original Samhain pressings are gold and hard to find in great condition. There is a awesome record shop in St. Pete FL: Planet Retro Records and the owner Rob has scored copies of November Coming Fire and Initium a few different times. I would love to own original pressings but have a hard time spending $200.00 plus for them. I only own the reissues, which are great to put on the player to listen too.
These are all bargains except for the Misfits lo. There has been a scene for collecting obscure HC since the 80s. Stuff like the first Negative Approach(test pressing) 7 goes for about 5,000. The Chicago HC band Violent Tumor, The Fix from Michigan, Indiana's Zero Boys. AF , United Blood 7. All starting around a few thousand dollars.Just to name a few I urge you to check the international HC bands of the 80s. Scandinavian bands like Mob 47, Crude SS, Terveat Cadet. Japanese HC from the early 80s fetches huge prices in the thousands as well. Just look at a price of something like the Execute first 7. An episode on 80s Japanese HC would be great as it was an instrumental influence on power violence, crust and grind. Bands like Gauze, Lip Cream, Outo,SS, Systematic Death, Crow, Gastunk, Execute, SOB ...even Napalm Death did a Gauze cover.
My top 3:
Minor Threat 2nd press of Out of Step.
Black Flag Everything Went Black with the blacked out name and etc.
A live copy of Peter, Paul, and Mary I scored at some rad shop for 2 bux and made in Asia, with a red copy on the second disc.
I try to stick to represses of older stuff, as I don’t really care about rarity, but some of my stuff is pricey. Top two are AFI’s sing the sorrow, and the Thrice alchemy index box set from a few years back.
I bought a copy of "Jan's rooms" by the Fixx back in the early 90's for $1 at a used record store. I knew what I had, and how rare it was. It turns out I had one of very few copies that had hand drawn lyric sheets, as confirmed by the singer. I had to sell it during a writers strike, and I sold it for $490, not bad for a $1 purchase.
Faith/Void OP. Scored it mint for a very reasonable price, but more than I ever spend on records.
Oh dude BLITZKID were a HUGE band from my childhood and the early blitzkid releases are a bitch to get ahold of. Glad to someone else shine some light on these ledgends.
I have an early pressing of The Dead Kennedys Fresh Fruit album with an orange cover.
By far the most obnoxiously expensive punk records are the hardcore records. The touch and go and dischord hardcore stuff can cost several hundred dollars to thousands. And black flags nervous break down can cost more than a thousand.
I saw Victim in Pain in some vinyl bin for cheap back in the 90s, still regret not picking it up.
Collected in the 80s and just started back in 2020...luckily have several of these on the vid...AF, Minor Threat, RKL, etc. Another gem is Start Today by GB in blue and their 1st 7in, in banana yellow! So many more records could have made the list of course.
I think this dovetails nicely with your "music vs. attitude" vid. If punk/HC were only about the attitude OR the music, then prices like these wouldn't exist. Instead, most of us feel it's at least a bit of both, which fuels the demand for fetishized goods.
Hey man, CZcams suggested me one of your videos and I gotta say I am thoroughly enjoying your videos and content. I really love the amount of detail in your videos and as a fellow punk veteran I just wanna say thanks! I've been collecting vinyl since I was about 16 or 16. The first record I ever bought was the Youth Brigade/BYO box set Let Them Know and I've been in love ever since. I don't have that anymore, unfortunately. My top 3 records I own are my limited edition Motorhead live in Minneapolis bootleg double LP, my signed copy of The Casualties' Written In Blood and then the Radiaton Blues EP by this badass street punk band called Holehog. You should totally check them out! Thanks man.
Casualties written in blood? Jeez that must be a new one. Last album I remember was underground army..? Haha yeah I'm old! No...wait! Die hards that's the last one I have.
I thought it was crazy when my 1st pressing of Ramshackle Glory live the dream reached $100....now it's about $400
Rock n Roll Nightmare is a classic album. I was fortunate to get a copy on release from MRR for review in a fanzine I was doing at the time. One of my prized posessions😀
Pretty much every danzig related vinyl prior 1995 goes for an insane amount of money.
Another great video!
That just blew my mind
i don't know if the first Warzone Ep edited by Revelation is still being printed, because copies that appear on discogs start from 220€ .
Another vinyl to mention is the infamous Judge - 'chung king can suck it'; I'm sure you know more about that record than I do.
you are awesome, great videos!
6 friggin grand for a record the band hated and basically threw away
Ramshackle Glory's Live The Dream is for me one of these absurdly expensive records, at around 400 dollars. Another one I believe also belongs to this group is the Huuda Harkiten album by the finnish prog/hc band YUP
God the blitzkid merch. I remember going back to look them up when I had money to collect records and damn near shit my pants at the prices.
Misfits pink legacy of brutality went for like 20 k recently
Hey! Nice poster. Saw Teenage Bottlerocket this summer in Nashville. Was a great show!
Hell yeah dude! Got that with my copy of Freak Out!
Original copies of "The Kids Will Have Their Say" by SSD go for over $1000cdn for "damaged" copies. For something that doesn't have a torn cover or scratches and shit closer to $1600-$2000cdn. Original pressing of "Can't Close My Eyes" by Youth Of today right now are between $1300-$4400cdn
I remember scouring record stores in Perth, Australia, back in the day, searching for the Crass & Conflict singles. Finding a mint copy of the Merry Crassmas 7" was a great day!!!
I'm from Scotland and I found a Near mint copy of Ramones Rockaway Beach Australian pressing on blue Philips label with the Australian phonogram company sleeve at a record fair in Glasgow 11 yrs ago
£20
BARGAIN 🤘🤘
Almost all of these are literally among my favorite albums, but I only use Spotify these days.
CR&SS "our wedding" is a free flexi now worth over £400
Operation ivy energy lookout records and minutemen double nickles on the dime are my most rare and cherished records in my collection.
you ever do a run-down on "We Got Two Jealous Agains" by NOFX? it's basically a love letter to punk vinyl collecting
Honourable mentions: Confuse - Nuclear Addicts (Flexi Disc), Rudimentary Peni - First EP, Minor Threat - In My Eyes EP, DYS - Brotherhood, JUDGE - Chung King Can Suck It, Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen ( A & M Records version )
Picked up BAD RELIGION's 12" "Back To The Known" about a year ago. Being an old skool vid game nerd, I mainly wanted to have 'Frogger' on a vinyl format.
I was getting my hopes up for selling my original 1981 SST version of Damaged, but they're only going for between £30-£65 here in the UK
I’m surprised you didn’t mention HOFX, the NOFX two song 12 inch record on splatter vinyl with “drugs are good” and “we ain’t shit”. I’ve seen that go for $800. I have a copy.
Minutemen's Double Nickels on The Dime vinyl is outrageously expensive. Really wish it would get a reissue sometime!
Thats an amazingly great record, hugely influential.
I am wondering my the choking victim video was taken down?
I don’t own any vinyl at the moment, just a couple CDs (although I’d really like to get into collecting, I dunno if I’m financially responsible enough for that to be a good idea haha) but jeez. I consider myself a pretty big music fan but I can’t imagine spending 1,000 bucks on any singular album, never mind 3,000 lmao
I wasn't into vinyl when the gallows were around, and now I regret it. Orchestra of wolves used is anywhere from 300-400. Crazy.
Was surprised to find out my vinyl pressing of the Fat Records comp Short Music for Short People is going for up to $110 and the Op Ivy picture disk I got at a Hot Topic is going for $100. Both of which I bought new.
Best one so far is the Zounds "Can't Cheat Karma" 45 that I got on ebay in 06 for $3 is now going for up to $75.
Hey, Punk Historian! Just dropping by to ask if you're going to cover post-hardcore at some point? It's contentious in spots (particularly the scene years in the aughts), but has a rich history that branched out into some pretty distinct currents like noise and math rock (AmRep, Touch and Go, Skin Graft Records, etc.), as well as the "real" emo and screamo (Gravity Records, Three One G, Ebullition, Witching Hour, Level Plane) on the DIY side, while parallel developments in more mainstream culture (initially influenced by OG post-hardcore and pop-punk, but spinning off into its own thing) leave us with a cohort of bands/fans that share the same terminology and stylistic flourishes, but come from a different cultural background (save for the initial influences from DIY).
I have some ideas for emotional hardcore, screamo, and post hardcore.
There will definitely be a video about each at some point.
I wanted to do a video on the subject of “real emo” as well, but I don’t have the most popular opinions about that.
@@thepunkhistorian6397 In any case, your perspective is welcome and I'm just glad there are more people in this space making content like this. Keep up the great work!
@@terminalglimmer Hell yeah thanks!
Like I said it will definitely happen at some point!
@@diydylana3151 I do too. And the only reason I use the term “real emo” is cause thats what all the super nerds in that scene insist on calling it 😂
@@diydylana3151 I honestly think of it as several different genres. In the context of “scene emo” Metalcore, post-hardcore, and “emo” pop punk are all separate genres. Sometimes sharing a common audience yes but different musical genres. Take for instance: My Chemical Romance and Bullet for my Valentine, both bands were labeled as “emo” at one point in time but have noticeably different sounds: one rooted heavily in 70’s punk and Classic Rock and the other in 80’s Thrash Metal. Factor in the Heavier metalcore bands and the “emo” pop punk stuff and the similarities disappear even more, for instance compare the early Bring Me the Horizon stuff to the first couple Fall Out Boy records. it’s night and day.
I feel the same way about What people call “real emo” as well, possibly even more so. As far as “emotional hardcore” goes yes that’s a consistent genre, and there’s very much a clear progression from that to the Skarmz and “emo violence” stuff of the late 90s.
However “90s emo” usually refers to a cohort of relatively random bands that have little to no common ground.
Bands like The Promise Ring, Cap’n Jazz, Sunny Day Real Estate, and American Football are all indie rock bands whereas bands like Lifetime and Jawbreaker are both punk bands. The two “breeds” of emo here share little to no common ground (even less so than post hardcore and metalcore).
While I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that as one can certainly enjoy both punk music and indie music, trying to tie both Lifetime and American Football into the same musical genre makes about as much sense as doing the same thing with NOFX and Death Cab For Cutie. Or Less Than Jake and Pantera for that matter, It’s just a completely different sound.
I hate elitism too, and I’ve actually thought about doing a video about how useless I think gatekeeping is for music lol
Also sorry for the block of text I really should do a video about this 😂😂
Thanks for ur views
Less Than Jake finally has an affordable vinyl copy on Smartpunk
Yeah I scored a copy of that at Fest this past October. We’ll see how long it stays affordable for lol
The stains one and only album, 1983 SST records
I scored a Unicorn pressing with the anti-parent sticker of Damaged on ebay for less than $10 on ebay a few years back. The seller didn't even know it was a Unicorn press, neither did I, just got lucky with a stink bid.
Yeah had a copy with the sticker I picked up in a used record store for a dollar around 1990. Sold it in 2009 for $150
I thought Black Flag 'Damaged' was originally released on MCA/ Unicorn, pretty sure they're the expensive copies, they're the only copies with the colour sleeve art? SST issues were released a couple of years later, after the protracted legal battle with MCA/ Unicorn to regain copyright. Also, Bad Religions debut ep was two 7" pressings first 500 then 1500, the first press is the most expensive... I traded for a copy in the glorious nineties, before push button buying came in to spiral the prices into the stratosphere. Enjoyed the video dude...
Ps Also remember seeing Minor Threat EPs for £40 ($60) back then, seemed expensive 😎. I've actually had three copies of Victim in Pain on Ratcage, again two pressings, the first doesn't have a credit for Important distribution on the sleeve. I found all of them for £1 each at various times, twenty years ago, pure luck. But it's been a while since I came across a copy, even on Combat , especially here in the UK. Still have my RKL,with comic book. Such a killer album.
You know your history lol That version of had “The Anti Parent Record” sticker on it I could be wrong
Honorable mention
Lagwagon “tragic vision / Angry days” 7”
$100+ for 2 songs
Spin Me Round Records in the beginning. That place is a bit pricey lol
Can You reupload the crackrocksteady video? Its offline
Here’s the most expensive punk records per just what I’ve managed to remember off the top of my head:
Judge - Chung King Can Suck It
Only 110 copies in existence, there’s a full backstory re: the band hating the recording but they already paid the advance for the plating of the record.
$6000 - $8000
The Execute - Self titled flexi AKA Go to Hell
Price fluctuates due to xerox sleeve variations, but expect to pay anywhere from $1300 - $3000 depending on rarity of the sleeve.
The Nothing - Scream n’ Cry / Uniformz
Seldom if ever comes up for sale, seen it priced from $300 - $1500.
Chronic Sick - Cutest band in hardcore
Lowest is $500, highest is $1600.
Anti Cimex - Anarchist Attack
Price has varied over the years, but the max it’s sold for is $1500.
A-bomb - Hells Story flexi
Incredibly rare, $1,300 - $3000
Hog-Gish - Self Titled Flexi
Incredibly rare, anywhere from $375 - $800.
Negative Approach - Self titled
Easily $1000, maximum $5000
Misfits - Bullet
$1000 - $3000 which is crazy because there’s over a thousand copies of the first press.
Necros - Sex Drive
100 copies, expect to pay between $2500 - $4000.
Misfits - Cough/Cool
$2,000, although some idiot paid over $10,000.
Sex Pistols - God Save the Queen
A&M, not sure how many are in existence, but this has been considered the holy grail for some for a long time. $10,000 -$15,000.
Honorable mention:
Human Gas/Stali Nism split 7”
So rare it’s existence was a point of contention among collectors for decades. No record of it ever being sold online.
Should have mentioned Poison Idea - Pick Your King first pressing of 1000 goes from 500-1000 depending on condition. Probably the most essential hardcore record of them all.
Great list! I have a friend who is a serious vinyl collector and has a bunch of crazy rare stuff, including all the Misfits EP's and the Sex Pistols God Save the Queen EP. When he bought the Sex Pistols EP he paid $500.00 for it and at the time that was a decent amount to spend for it. The rumor about the EP is it was only released to the people A&M and not put out into the market, there is supposedly 25-35 EP's produced.
@@gabbdrg I’ve heard mixed stories of quantity which is why I didn’t want to speculate, it’s absolutely mental, nice little investment if you want to put your kids through college though.
RKL great band. They were my favorite band when I was a kid growing up in Santa Barbara. Im still friends with Chris to this day and he is still an awesome guitar player. Somewhere i have a demo of RKL rock and Roll nightmare on cassette. and a demo before they recorded beautiful feeling. I still have a bunch of old Punk records. The Descendents FAT ep and original Minor threat 45 and Poison Idea pick your kind 45 are my favorites. I have my original Bad religion how could hell be any worse. I bought that and FEAR the record when I was a kid. Now i have to check my box or records to see what i got. I also have the original 7 seconds committed for life that one is great.
Ever thought of digitizing the RKL demo? Do yourself and the world (ok, me) a favor! They're one of my absolute favorites! I'm jealous of the Fear record too! Cheers
Make more videos about vinyl records!!!
I just looked up how much my Kerplunk! reissue goes for and apparently top price is $350 but that might be for a promo copy.
I def paid a decent amount for my near mint copy of RKL's "Riches To Rags".
I got a brand new copy of Rock n roll nightmare on Alchemy, around 1990 at a record store that sold mostly jazz and blues records, comic book and all. I then found the Destiny records double vinyl, RKL's Greatest Hits Double Live In Berlin around the same time at another record store that also didn't sell anything punk. They had no idea what they had and it was priced at 1.99. On the flip side (pun definitely intended) I had Judge's Bringing it down on green vinyl, and not really being a fan of the band and not knowing how limited the pressing was, I sold it about 15 years ago to the hippy record store next to the shop I worked at for beer money (oh the irony) for about 3 dollars. Only for the very next day to have the son of my boss come in and tell me he just found the record next door for 5 bucks and how excited he was to find a couple hundred dollar record for that cheap! You win some you lose some.
Lol great stories. Dudeee what a fuck up on that Judge album. It is as you said.
Most expensive record I’ve seen are the very best of hero by the swankys selling for 500 to 600 or a bomb -hells story for almost 3000
I thought you were gonna mention the HOFX 12 inch splatter vinyl by NOFX.
I havent finished the video yet but I hope you included any dead milkmen records
I dropped alot of cash on swinging utters “a juvenile product of the working class” on colored vinyl. I love that album so its all goood.
Nice!! I’ve got an original pressing of that
Hickey’s self titled album from 1995 on Probe records is for sale on discogs for $5,000 lol
What would you think beastie boys Polly wog stew , 7 inch clear vynil be worth ,?
Why is the chocking victim video private?
After the allegations about Sturgeon came out I took it down. I may re upload it with some sort of disclaimer but I really don’t think I should be endorsing his bands
Sold off original Chain of Strength green 7" a few years back and wide awake 7". Still own original turning point 7 inch, no for an answer 7", and manliftingbanner 7 inch. Sold off most (300+ records) in the 2010 era when I found the internet and needed cash.
Great video. As someone who's into vinyl I've never had a problem buying reissues. Like you said they are cheaper and usually higher quality. Having said that my most valuable record is probably Alkaline Trio's Sundials 7". I've had it since it was released way back in the day.
I thought that the Epitaph release was the Vandals "Peace Through Vandalism"
Authorities 7” Soundtrack For Trouble.
I might just be sitting on a gold mine…
As far as i know, you literally cannot find a tangible copy of this is no time ta sleep by morning glory. I'd pay a lot of money for that vinyl...or even the CD honestly. Please someone let me know if you have any info
Unfortunately I sold 80+ of my 80's- 90's punk, thrash, for $500 in the early 2000's including a Foetus collection other multiple records from favs & P.D. I am sick over it now.😥
I will say; my record collect is amazing. I have 2nd and 3rd pressings of a lot of early 1980’s hardcore punk bands. I was gifted them. I know they are more rare, I’ve already had them for 25 years
No mention of Judge’s ‘Chung King Can Suck It’?!?!
Most punk bands & labels never stopped Releasing vinyl even in the 90s.
Hate to bum you out further, but a couple of NM “Cough/Cool” 7” originals went for 15K each in Austin this past summer. An acetate of another release went for 30K. Misfits collectors are by far the most rabid.
I've been trying to get my hands on a copy of No Trigger -Canyoneer for several years. One of my longtime favorites. I had a chance to buy one for $250 a couple of years ago but it seemed like too much at the time. Now you can't find one under $5000 which is obviously rediculous.
Daaaaamn! Would never have guessed that record was so expensive. I remember buying it the CD dirt cheep like 7 ish? Years ago before I got into vinyl but damn. Love the hell outta that record tho. If I ever do a part 2 of this I’ll definitely throw that one in there!
This is artificially inflated by the band. They basically lost all ability to repress this record and therefore the original press of 1000 is all that exists. They made a post around the time they realized they couldn’t repress it requesting that no one sell their copy for less than $2k (as a joke…kinda. Lol) and the market responded. It’s ridiculous and honestly I kinda love it as a silly thing. As much as I would LOVE a copy of this record… it is what it is!
@@TheBrysonK fully familiar with the back story. I also love/hate it! In my opinion Canyoneer is one of the best punk albums released in the past 20 years. I should have bought it when I had the chance 😃
I understand why you took down the LOC and Choking Victim video but I would really like to see it. Is there any way you could send it to me privately? That way you're not giving them a platform to influence new listeners. Sturgeon isn't the only one in those bands and I've always been curious about their history. Plus I dig your videos.
Yeah DM me on Instagram and I’ll try sending u a link
Oh shit you did a choking victim and leftover Crack vid damn I need that link too.
Ive still got a mint copy of Rosemarrys Babies Blood Lust EP, which is famous for having a picture of a then unknown Kurt Cobain on it.
The reason its still in mint condition, is because its so shit, so it remained in its cover....i got it as a bonus with a album, because the shop couldent sell it.
Fuck me these prices are fucking bonkers. It seems a bit ironic that broke punk dudes in the 80's and 90's vinyl are now selling for a ridiculous amount of cash. Side note, lots of love to Slick Shoes' Burnout. That record fucking shreds.
I KNOW RIGHT!? I was actually looking to get a copy of Victim In Pain at one point, couldn't believe the resale value of the REISSUES!
Also, LOVE Slick Shoes, criminally underrated band!
I want to sell all my records, I got some great ones. I haven’t owned a record player in nearly 20 years so what’s the point?
Do you have a discogs page? Wonder if you have anything I want lol
@@thepunkhistorian6397 I don’t
it would be punk to download all of them at the lowest quality posible
Crimpshrine....Sleep What's That? They are numbered and I had a very low number. Jack Curran wanted my numbered version... sent it to him. I have multiple copies but only one red numbered. It means more to the band member then me. Aaron Commetbus GAVE me a 10" version of "Make the collector Nerd Sweet" I spin it every so often and would never sell it. I have a ton of vinal... my kids will dump it when I die....making yours worth more!!!
Think in the 70s i had about a 500 punks records, till i had a fire=0 even thinking about it makes me sad
Damn that is tragic…
If anyone has any blitzkid cds. JUST THE CDS. lemme know. Mine got stolen but still have all the cases
Tried going to your LoC/Choking Victim video and it’s private 🤷♂️
Yeah I took it down after all the allegations against Sturgeon came out
@@thepunkhistorian6397 Had no idea. Just finished trolling r/punk and r/folkpunk to look into it all. Dudes a mess. Will we ever maybe get a version of the vid that notes the allegations and stuff? Don’t seem to be any on here.
Do a video of the great band slap shot. Another expensive record is the heartbreakers lamf
I had Rock n Roll Nightmare. The comic got tore up and put on the wall..stupid stupid stupid. Don't know what happened to the record
My life style is too punk rock for vinyl :( if I made a video about the most expensive records I lost or destroyed it would make you cry
going to Punk rock bowling this year?
Not this year. Too late to the game unfortunately, looks like it’s mostly sold out. I gotta make it down there at some point though I’ve actually never been. Ive been to Fest a couple times but never PRB, hopefully I can make that happen next year!
@@thepunkhistorian6397 this year is my first year and im a punk in his 30s. so idk better late than never I guess. also check out the new leftover crack book by brad Logan!
@@harrygurvitz9030 right on! Yeah I’ll definitely check that out after I finish the Bad Religion one hahah
@@thepunkhistorian6397 while we're on it, have u read the Keith Morris one?
@@harrygurvitz9030 no I haven’t. Is it any good?
Fuck I had all AF in that collection😥
In the 90's i had over 200 LP's and a about the same in 7ins with a fee 10's mixed in. I sold it all in 99'. I paid usually about $2-$3 for 7in and $6-$8 for 12in. I went ro a guitar shop this past weekend and they had a few original pressing 7in's that I had from Rancid, Pinhead Gunpowder, Bad Religion, and then a sinkhole and a Oblivion. All were $10-$20 😂😂😂, I made a hard pass.
Which begs the question why anyone isn't repressing these albums. When did these labels forget supply and demand? Or is there just no labels to repress them?
Labels/bands stash copies and get rich selling them at sucker prices....
Please do a video on the whole "Pigfuck/anti hardcore" scene of the 80s bands Stickmen With Rayguns, No Trend, Butthole Surfers and Killdozer
I'll have to get familiar with that kinda stuff first. I like some of the Butthole Surfers stuff but other than them I've never been super invested that genre myself. Never heard it called "Pigfuck" before though hahaha
Not a bad idea though! I'll definitley start exploring the noisier side of punk on this channel eventually
I truly do not understand record collection, or collecting most things honestly. With music it's just to have a trophy, since most of the records (even super rare) have been archived online in some way.
I only buy albums I know I really like. And I’ll usually buy the cheap reissue if I can. I see it as more of a social activity than anything else.
@@thepunkhistorian6397 I can dig that, but I have friends who solely buy expensive rare hardcore records just to say they have them.
@@DanPantzig yeah I don’t get that lol
I get wanting to have a physical item and wanting to look at all the artwork, lyrics, photos, etc. in the insert because a part of me does miss that from when I bought CDs in middle and high school, and I get wanting to have something that can never be taken away because it's an item you literally have, but I've never gotten into vinyl myself.
@@street-zombie For sure, but buying an album you love and enjoying the physical thing fully is different than buying up records just because they're records.
world inferno friendship society...addicted to bad ideas its like $200-250..
No negative approach?
That was me!! ✝️🚫
Hell yea dude!!
Bro look at Black Market Baby Senseless Offerings.
Cough/Cool on eBay Oct '22 SIGNED by all 3 members - $30,000
there are many rock star millionaeres who pay anything for old shit
I've got some rare shit. Probably forgot half of what I even got. I know I have some limited pressings like a caustic Christ "Chicago fest government job" 7inch. 3 of 100. Nothing is different about it accept a rubber sleeve... I have this picture disc slip L.p. of the murderers and the junkies on beer city records. Never saw another copy of that. For awhile it wasn't even listed on beer cities website that it was ever a release of theirs... Idk. I got cool stuff. Cause I always bought records at shows. And if they had limited colors or what not that's always what I went for... While the rest just bought the t-shirt...
i was digging thru records at a convention like a decade and a half ago and came across Icons of filth, onword christian soldiers and my heart dropped, then i seen the price and my heart dropped all over again, needless to say, i didnt buy the record. dont remember how much it was but was def over hundred
