remember in 1995, when I stay a few weeks in Eire, one of the most impressive times of my life. Amazing countrysides, full of history and full of life and very friendly, warmhearted people. And such music, singing and dancing people and Guinness in pubs... I must visit the green island again as soon as possible...

When he plays along with Jarlath Henderson ,Julie Fowlis ,Sharon Shannon,Ali Hutton ,Ross Ainslie ,Conal McDonagh Muireann NicAmhlaoibh, and so many more Scottish and Irish singer/musicians it really blows me away how talented they are. Also bands like Skerryvore and Skipinnish. Try typing any one of those names into the CZcams search box and it'll open up a whole Pandoras box of so many talented people.

I'll bet you they are actually quite cheap to make, it's just that every instrument brand knows what their brand is worth. Apart from the whistles and flutes, I play saxophone, and I own a Selmer horn. The thing is about a thousand euros overpriced, at least, comparing it to other brands, but Selmer is famous so everyone will pay. So did I... (although I didn't do it because of the brand of course :) )

The oldest historic records point to Ireland. But,that only lends weight to the Irish origin...it doesn't rule out a Scottish one.The majority tend to think Ireland, but there are a greater number of players in Ireland. Anyone's guess,John.....and it really makes no difference to me. It's a fine instrument where ever it came from.... My current drum is Scottish btw! Purchased in Aberdeen.
