The hilarious thing to me, is that, even as a kid, hearing Penn Jillette yell at me that magic tricks were all fake didn’t take away the joy I got seeing Teller do all those tricks. It just made me even more impressed that these guys didn’t have actual magic and could still do all that cool stuff!

Somehow, I truly remember this sequence, yet overlooked these 2 for so long. Now I’m picking up on their routine: they’re not just magicians, they bring up such intricate commentary, in such a humorous fashion.

Penn and Teller are probably the funniest live humans in the movie.

As a kid, I assumed Penn was an animation director or something, which made his bombastic style even more fun & surprising.
When I got older and learned more about the duo in a totally different context, it was a cool & unique feeling for this memory to resurface from childhood.

Penn Jillette started out as a juggler, and Teller started out as a magician, just so you know.

Fantasia 2000 was how I got introduced to Penn and Teller although due to my upbringing (no tv in my house until I was eight or nine) I had no idea who these two actually were until years later seeing them make appearances in shows like The Simpsons (I have to go back and check but I believe Teller actually talks in the episode they appeared in), Futurama (just Penn) and Las Vegas.

And now we’re gonna hear a piece of music that tells a very definite story
In this case the story came and the composer wrote the music to go with it
It’s a very old story, one that goes back almost 2000 years a legend about a sorcerer who had an apprentice
He was a bright young lad and very anxious to learn the business
As a matter of fact he was a little too bright
And because he starts practicing some of the boss’s best magic tricks before learning how to control
But one day for instance he was told by his master to carry water to fill a cauldron
He had the brilliant idea of bringing a broomstick to life to carry the water for him
Well this worked very well at first
Unfortunately having forgotten the magic formula that would make the broomstick stop carrying the water
He found he started something he couldn’t finished

You know what’s funny? 3 of the hosts of this movie actually voiced characters in previous animated Disney movies:
Bette Midler voiced Georgette in Oliver & Company
Angela Lansbury voiced Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast
And James Earl Jones voiced Mufasa in The Lion King
However, Steve Martin and Penn & Teller didn’t voice characters in animated Disney movies

I haven't watched Fantasia 2000 for a very long time but 1 thing I always remembered was somebody yelling "ripoff!" as somebody else chopped off their hand and I remembered it because it made me laugh so hard. Less then a decade ago I learned about the duo penn and teller. and watched tons of there shows or whatever other random stuff they did. Just now I was watching a video about Doug Walker (Nostalgia Critic) and he mentioned that one of the celebrity appearences was Penn and Teller and I was like "ok let's watch the scene" When Penn shouted "Ripoff!" my jaw dropped and my eyes became a bit wattery, I mean what the freaking odds
