  • The Eastern Red Cedar is one of those trees that is just full of surprises. From pencils, to cedar chests. This wood is loved by woodworkers and sawyers, and sometimes hated by land owners. So what is this Cedar Tree that's not actually a cedar?

      Yeah Eastern Red Cedar really is a unique looking wood to cut into. That pink sawdust is pretty wild.

    Awesome content, Sir. I've got a 130max itching to be setup in my garage. Keep up the good work!

    I have to wear a respirator when I mill cedar. Love it but it gets to my sinuses. Great looking material you got there.

      Yeah it's not the healthiest wood to breath in. If the wind is in my face I usually try and cover up. Thanks for watching!

    Cool!
    Getting ready to commence, to start , to pull the trigger on a mill. Lol.
    Have you noticed that the 126 saw head doesn’t oscillate nearly as much as the 130s ?
    Thanks man. Great to the point video

      I've never ran a 130 but generally the only time I have any shake from mine is if my rails aren't level or square but that's an easy fix. That's very exciting for you though! Have fun with your mill once you commence, start and pull the trigger!

      @@MacJackal I’ve watched one billion (pinky to the lip) milling videos. Seems like the 126 is a more stable platform. Not to mention I don’t have many giants to mill. Thanks again

    would it be better to seal the end grain of the cant before millling?

    • @MacJackal
      @MacJackal  Před 5 měsíci

      Yeah it's way easier to just seal the ends when it is still in log form. I just try to seal them right after I buck them to size so I don't have to worry about it. If you try and seal them as a cant, you have to wait for them to dry before milling them up. I Use Anchor Seal 2 and it takes 3-4 hours for the wax to set up in normal conditions. And if you try to seal them once they are boards it just takes longer and is a pain.
