- Today, we had the opportunity to visit the esteemed Cambridge University with my family. As we admired one of its oldest colleges, my father reminisced about India's Nalanda University, which, had it not been destroyed, could have held the title of the world's oldest continuously operating university.

Historical sources indicate that the University had a long and illustrious life which lasted almost continually for 800 years from the fifth to the twelfth century CE. It was a completely residential university believed to have 2,000 teachers and 10,000 students. The Nalanda ruins reveal through their architectural components the holistic nature of knowledge that was sought and imparted at this University. It suggests a seamless co-existence between nature and man, and between living and learning.The profound knowledge of Nalanda’s teachers attracted scholars from places as distant as China, Korea, Japan, Tibet, Mongolia, Turkey, Sri Lanka, and South East Asia. These scholars have left records about the ambience, architecture, and learning at this unique university. The most detailed accounts have come from Chinese scholars and the best known of these is Xuan Zang who carried back many hundred scriptures which were later translated into Chinese.

The worst part is that the place has been named as Bakhtiyarpur. This is the biggest irony the person who destroyed the temple of education of India that same place is named after him.
Such is the level of pseudo secularism and minority appeasement in India.

Yes, he has made such brilliant vlogs on Indian connection in the UK. BR Ambedkar, Uddham Singh, British Museum Indian collection, and the list goes on. I know his British Museum vlog became viral but others are actually even better but sadly he still hasn't got the acclaim he deserves. He should be minimum on 5 million subs at least. Maybe it is a reflection of the Indian audience which still like those cringe vlogs of chapri u tubers.

my village is very near to our ancient nalanda university but our government didn't restore it since independence.
finally they made new nalanda university in rajgir 18 km from old nalanda uni.Hopefully it will fully open in upcoming years.
Better late than never but sadly the damage that was caused back then is irreversible.
