    The correct fluid for the F1 is Shell Spirax S4 ATF HDX

    Perfect !! Good afternoon after I complete how do I turn off the panel light?

    • @JohnEngel
      @JohnEngel  Před rokem

      If it was just low on fluid then the light will go off automatically.

    Does this make checking the F1 fluid the easiest thing to service on the F430?

    • @JohnEngel

      LOL, I think it does. The video took longer to make than to check the fluid level. LOL

    Maybe you meant two centimetres? You said millimeters which is an extremely small length. That would almost be un measurable with the finger method.

      Exactly. Thank you. I miss spoke. I should have just kept with a fingernail. Lol

    You've gotta do something about those rims on that 430 bro.... they don't look right.

    • @JohnEngel
      @JohnEngel  Před 4 lety

      Fred Daniali no way. I love them. I think the stock rims look bad. What would you suggest?

    • @freddaniali
      @freddaniali Před 4 lety +1

      It just looks like you have the wrong offset and a bunch of fender gap. Take a look at Dan Hurbert's 430 on Normal Guy Super car.... his car looks really nice with the rims that he has. Just a suggestion... if you like it the way it is then it's fine.

    So what should be the correct level? 2mm above finger nail?

    • @JohnEngel
      @JohnEngel  Před 5 lety

      James it should be 2mm high. This is about the hight of the average fingernail. So it should only be a fingernail high.

      What fluid should I add? I have about 1mm when system is fully primed.
      I’m having issues with F1 where when it’s cold it won’t shift 2nd to 3rd, you can hear it’s trying to shift up but it won’t go in gear and switches to N. I would have to stop and shift to 1st. When I drive it for a while it will shift to 3rd but not to 4th and so on. After driving for a while everything goes to normal. I believe it all started happening after my battery started dying just replaced it with a new one.
      Your advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

    • @JohnEngel
      @JohnEngel  Před 5 lety

      James I use shell spiral S4 atf hex. New name for Donax TX. This sounds like it might be due to a sensor but I would start with adding some fluid, turning the battery disconnect off so no power is going to the car. Wait at least 10 mins, I just leave it off over night. Turn the switch back on for power and do a reset procedure for the car. This involves turning the key to on, not starting the car, and letting it sit for 30 secs. This recalibrated the ECU.

      @@chromehearts5791 Hey James, I remember seeing a video from another CZcamsr that if I remember correctly, had a similar problem as you. Battery crapped out, and once he replaced it, and did what John Engel suggested (re-calibrating ECU) the problem went away.
