This game was designed for a 386, and after running the sound card and IO didn't have the published CPU IPS, so the game actually runs right if cycles=fixed 3900. Good guide.

Great game, great tutorial, thank you very much. I still got my original box of that game behind my desk. Finally I got Munt running. I played it the old days on my 386 with SoundBlaster 2 and was not aware how bad the sound was.
Isn't all that GOG's job?

Hi there, I have used your guide to the letter, but it seems that speedwise the game works pretty much as its predecessor. 8000 cycles are unplayable, I do 6K, but the moment there are just few fast ships game accelerates brutally, with the increase of enemies speed gets down. But it is quite sluggish on 5K so I need to constantly switch cycles up and down. Dunno why.
Kilrathi-Saga is my Favorit. WC1+2 redone for Win95.
Would be awesome if GOG.com would release it. But I doubt it will run on modern machines. Also it has some other bugs I believe.

if i add the -k at the end it doesnt load. if i put a space then -k it loads but cheat doesnt work
I am confused. I bought a 386 to play Wing Commander and I see no graphical interface to do what you show. It's just text saying C:\>
thx for the guide, you did a great job. A question for this game: is there a way to enable subtitle during cutscene? I know they are enabled if you turn off voices, I wad wondering if you can have both
Interesting, I thought the game always had sub-titles. I'm not sure, the GOG version comes with the PDF manual, maybe that has some information?
has anyone else had the problem in WC2 where the keyboard stops responding
Just in general, the Wing Commander games are meant to be played with a joystick.
@@philscomputerlab I was using both a keyboard joystick I get to mission 2 get ti the enemy mothership and fir some reason I can't use any of my keyboard command it's odd it's happened twice to me now.
Also I don't think I am very good at this game I can't seem to keep my bombers I am ment to be escorting alive😔
