WOW. That is expensive for long term. Is only 1 bedroom
We are family of three and we paying 18k rent for gated subdivision plus utilities here in Mactan cebu. I’m shocked how much more expensive rents are in Duma.
Our houses has white marble floors, counter tops throughout but no swimming pool and out back yard including front yard 3 times bigger then your outside rear deck.
Your place is perfect for you guys but won’t be for me for two reasons…. Double monthly price and being little far from the city. It’s my personal opinion only.
The pool is one thing we must have and does add value to our rental price. Thanks for your comment.. John
Asking way too much. I'm sure people will pay it driving up the market Already decided that area is nice but way too many expats throwing around their money will at some point destroy everything good about that place best wishes to all thanks for sharing
That is a great point and very true! I've been going to Philippines since 2018 and have seen things rise very quickly since in the areas where expats stay.
Yanks are just stupid paying these ridiculous rents
WAY TOO MUCH - I pay 25,000/month for a nicer place - with a pool ten times that size.
Are you living in a condo development? Curious what region are you in?
Where?
So nice to see you again and hope you can do more videos. You have a calming effect on me. America is going mad. God bless ys-all.
I have one of the upstairs reserved. I'll be there in about 2 weeks. My fiance and I were there a year ago for a month and we are returning again for a 3 month stay. It will be nice to see you guys again.
Looking forward to your return. J&M
@TurquoiseSunsets quick question... last time, I paid for everything in cash. Do they take credit cards for rent payments? Or maybe G-cash? Just would make it easier for when i arrive so i don't have to carry around that much cash. Thanks.
@@justinsterling6180 We've always paid cash but other arrangements can be made from what we've heard. Best to contact manager Diane email address, marpascal2010@yahoo.com
Good to see you, family.
By the way, Finn, the vlogger, is partner with Chris, the owner of Pura Vida Resort. Ask for Finn and Chris the next time you go there. They are very nice guys.
We know Chris and Finn, thanks Jessie...
Nice to see you both again
Thank you for sharing the place you are living is beautiful and safe for the whole family. God bless you all.
John, the first year on the 13a gets you the probationary resident acr i card. You are not allowed during that year to be apart from your wife at any time. When you apply for the permanent resident visa one year later, you will need to submit as a part of that package an affidavit that you were with her in the country, ie the Philippines, the whole time. If you lesve for the states on the probationary, then the next application you will have to start all over again.
That"s the law. I've been through it recently but stayed with wife in country my probationary year, of course. I now have the permanent resident acr i card. Just thought you might like to know this.
There is a way around that and JRC Immigration and Visa Services will be handling that for me when the time comes. Thanks for your input, John.
That is great news! Praise the Lord!!
John, you will need an ECC and a Reentry Permit. But there's no paperwork involved. As you begin in the line to have your passport checked, there is a immigration Boothe in the same line where you submit your permanent resident card and passport. There you pay 2880 pesos and the receipt they give serves as both the ECC-b and the reentry permit. Hold on to that, you need to show it again when you come back into the Philippines.
Thank you for the heads up. John
You are most welcome. We are keeping you all in our prayers.
You are most welcome. We are keeping you all in our prayers.
I agree these 40,000
Ph costs are way too much, where are you?
Which province, city,
expensive area where ever it is
Valencia, Negroes Oriental
Good to bump into you at the Sunday market John. We had a lovely lunch with Tom and Har too. Keep up the good work. Regards, Kevin & Lynne from new Zealand.
It was a pleasure meeting you both. Take care. 🙏👍
Thank You for sharing the budget. I''m happy that you are happy with the accommodations and the benefits of having a good landlord. Oh the dilemma of having too much space vs not enough space and the pros and cons of each. Sorry to hear about Brianna not having her own room. I know you eat healthy are conscious of taking care of yourself. I hope that you are exercising, and staying hydrated. Not sure of your family's medical history so I hope that you will factor in getting preventative tests done. We are always wishing you all the best. Stay cool and enjoy the Philippines! .
Good medical history on both sides of our families and we do stay away from doctors, hospitals and Big Pharma. We prefer Divinity and natural health as God intended. Only when absolutely necessary do we allow them into our world. John
Love your show ❤😊. We are coming on june ith my 👨👨👦. Planning to visit dumaguete.
Great video good info 😊
Looks nice 👍.
Nice apartment. If I was moving now I would probably jump on that. Sadly I have some more time before I say adios/peace out to work. Love your videos.
daughter have her own room and son too
Thank you guys for your video great to see you back love your channel please do some cooking ones 😊
I'm the same about doctors and medicine
Good budget ❤❤
RIPOFF!
More than I pay for my house in the states on 1/3 acre
Hello John & Mareis! Watching from San Diego, CA. Looking forward to visiting the country…finally. I never thought I’d be coming back (be it visiting or settling down) but just waiting for my passport so I can then set my flight ✈️ and come for a few weeks. I alluded to “coming back” as I actually was born there but left with my entire immediate family when I was a few years old well before the Beatles made its first appearance in the U.S. 🤗But after watching you and other Vloggers the last few years got my interest on fire to finally come. Perhaps when I do come I’ll visit you and other favorite Vloggers (a few in your region) perhaps September. Anyway, thanks for sharing your monthly expense. I know you mentioned being self-insured, but did I miss your food budget…it being a primary expense after rent? Stay safe and healthy✌️🙏
If you can afford to eat in San Diego you'll have no problem at all with your food budget in the Philippines. 😁🙏
Great video thank you. I’m watching you from the South coast in the UK. I didn’t hear any roosters, where are you living? I first came to the Philippines in 2001 and have visited many times. On my next trip I would like to visit the Palawan islands. Good luck with the channel. Have a great day 😊
30,000 peso is $525 US
Just remember most hospitals won't work on you say if you have an accident until they get paid. Doesn't matter if it's life or death from what I'm told. I wonder if they would take credit cards. Maybe some one here could shed some more light on that?
Having Phil Health does make it easier to enter hospitals here in the RP. But there are other options too..
You forgot to mention Marpas is for sale and could be sold in the future to new owners.
We didn't forget to mention that...it is currently for sale, however the process is expected to take atleast a year once it sold.
Marpas Has always been a great apartment
Do they still have the single level units in the back?
yes...
Nice looking apartments. I really like the large balcony. I am surprised by the cost per meter for that lot!! That is really high being that it is just in a subdivision. I guess that is why it has been on the market for so long.
The lot next door for sale is not in a subdivision but rather a city lot. We agree, the price is too high which is why it hasn't sold in years.. We're seeing a lot of greed!
@@TurquoiseSunsets Thanks for the clarification. I guess someone is hoping with influx of foreigners that someone will think it is a good price and pay 3000 per meter😉. I have been looking for houses in marketplace for sometime and I see a lot of greed there as well. There are no comparisions so people must think, hmm I think this house and lot is worth X price. Then realtors tack on money to that price.
Where in the Philippines can i get wall to wall carpet with padding underneath it like in the states?
Does any affluent folks have it in their homes ?
Phils is about twice the land size of Florida...but has 5+ times the population of Florida,. Phils is getting mighty crowded!
Yes, but in reality the population of the Philippines is 110,000,000 compared to the USA at 335,000,000. Both countries have vast open regions. Expats are driving prices up here in the RP for sure, and yes it is getting congested in many areas...
I'm paying rent $3,100 in SoCal. I'm looking forward to Philippines rent.
That place should be 375ish.
Planning to retire there with my wife and 5 yer old son. What home school program are you using?
there are many but we use IXL and our own variation of Montessori. Parents can design their own if they are interested in the learning process. What needs to be learned, etc...
Not bad at all. Id be worried with my 1 and 3 year old on that balcony. Would have to make it safer.
Family with toddlers are not allowed upstairs there's 2 bedrooms units for family downstairs like ours we have 2 bedrooms downstairs.
700 usd? Nah... cost to much for what you getting
Must be nice, I live here in Miami Florida and something like that would be $1500 a month
@@light-water yes prices in America are more expensive than the Philippines... Great catch
How’s the internet speed? Is there a generator in case there’s brownouts? Thanks
Good internet speed and reliable too.
my wifes daughter had a c section her and the baby's cost was 71 k i know that as a fact because i paid it that was last year up in northern Luzan
Did she have Philhealth?
Prices do vary but the doctor quote with ACE hospital is to budget P150,000. Who knows what the final price will be..John
@@TurquoiseSunsets no i just thought that was cheep
Are you still doing the one meal a day? Looking good 😊
Mareis is still on OMAD and I am eating 2 meals a day. John.
There goes the lanai. Briannas room )
Maybe a possibility on that one. :)
I don't live in NYC or LA -- I live in Ky. so those prices are not as cheap as I would hope ! -- They are about the same as where I am in the US !!! = Very disappointing.
This is the probably the highest price in the area. 20 to 25 php is more realistic. I live in Valencia as well in a small 2 bedroom house on about 600 sq mtr fenced lot for less than 15 k.
@@davidmadison1087 It appears to me the expats in the Dumaguete 'area' have driven up the prices - compared to many other 'areas' in the PHILIPPINES ?
@@KB3TLE VERY TRUE, LOTS OF GREED!
@@davidmadison1087 Do you have a pool and full services including a guard security? Yes it is too expensive in this area.
@@davidmadison1087 Do you have a pool and security??
Are these apartments within walking distance of local fruit and vegetable markets ?
Yes, 1 Kilometer walking distance.. Many residents walk there.
@@TurquoiseSunsets Thanks !
Hi guys John do you have Medicare A and B please .Thank you
I only carry Part A for the hospitals in the USA.
Did you use JRS to do your 13A? LOL, you do need an exit clearance but can apply for it at the airport.
JRC Yes, and you can search our channel for the video interview we produced and posted.
Don't need an exit clearance only need to present card and passport, no paperwork to fill out as I understand it according to JRC, John
@@TurquoiseSunsets I've left here twice and I needed an exit clearance both times. With a 13A. I asked the immi person about it and she said I needed one every time I left the country. With a 13A though, you can get one at the airport for 3K. I've got the receipt in my passport.
@@robertp.7090 I'll check it out, thanks.
@@TurquoiseSunsets I think maybe what they mean (I was told the same as you, BTW), is that we don't have to do it in advance, we can do it at immi at the airport.
2300 no way
This is not overall good for Philippines...xpats must be careful about paying to much for rents. It hurts economy if it happens to fast.
Why not buy a house? It's also an investment for you and the family, that's horrible.
A new girlfriend would have to be included.
You paying foreigners prices how many Filipinos families are living there without foreigner financial support. I've lived in San Mateo Rizal for 2 1/2 years and i have a 2 bedroom townhouse in a subdivision with guards and a pool and really nice quite and safe area with an Overlooking view of metro manila and i pay 96 US or 5000 pesos a month.Just because you have US dollars doesn't mean you compare your rental fees and bills to US
hi jeff, can you give me more information about the place? Thx
Are pets allowed?
Very strict but ask the manager Diane.
Too much 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Damn this dude is having a younger wife...
😀
