My only problem is that they lied to us
My personal only gripe is the story and the faction alignment system which I still liked a lot, I just wish there was more depth to it. Everything else I consider to be an upgrade, the combat feels better, the parkour is better than any game ever, the open world is great and compliments the parkour very well, nighttime is much better with actual incentives to go out and do things instead of sleeping away the whole night.
I get why some people don't like it but I personally just have things I want them to add rather than change, they've made something really special and considering how they're spoiling us by actually listening to community feedback and adding things we want (for the most part) when no other big game dev have even considered listening to the community, I feel like they at least deserve some credit.
Now they added predatory-priced MTX instead of fixing game breaking bugs and adding actual content that isn't just bounties.

That's what I'm saying like there are so many people comparing techland to cdpr and they are nothing alike because techland actually cares for the community and are dedicated to making sure that they deliver a good game unlike cdpr where they barely showed anything making it proof that they just didn't care for the audience and were just releasing an unfinished product and in some cases were only in it for the company itself its obvious people gave too much expectations for it and were highly disappointed but I believe techland will deliver a good game I have no doubt about it because they actually listen to us and mostly all the companies dont do that and that is what we need in gaming is developers listening and taking notes that way they dont mess up making a game but this whole cyberpunk and techland thimg needs to stop because techland doesn't work with trash they are a dedicated company that knows what they are doing

They didn't get a clear date because the work on game was going slow. They were working on the game already in 2016 + they had the addons like most of parkour movements from dying light 1. So why it took so long? They were poor. The techland bankrupted a few months ago and CD:PR bought it. Thats probably why this teaser looks a little worse than the other one. Cause its shows us the real game. This is a good sign that we wont have another cyberpunk in december

Dying light 2 reanimation
Dying light 2 is in need of an overhaul
This idea is an overhaul called reanimation
The reanimation update would have 5 main points to overhaul being quality of life and consequences,gameplay including (parkour, combat, and a redo of story missions) regions, and buildings including darkzones.
The quality of life and consequences is an easy fix first lighting, allow players to choose what certain objects colors are and remove the over saturated vibrant colors from the game or make the game look closer to the e3 2019 demo and add darker more cinematic lighting. for consequences on the survivors the survivors you could add people doing parkour around the city for pks you could have them take on various enemies and dismantle buildings for resources but there should be more apocalyptic structures around the map for both factions. In old villedor survivors should take the windmill instead of blowing it up and the pks should take the bazaar. A wanted system would be for the faction you didn’t side with in story decisions survivors will send assassins after you while pks would send armored vehicles after you this system would be called the hatred the higher the level the more they send after you.
The parkour update would add new parkour animations added on to the already existing ones such as new vault animations old and unused jump animations all on a cycle that switches them around each time and add reaching animations when the player jumps to grab an object another part of the parkour update would add variations of already existing parkour objects like the ropes you swing from could be chains the bars could be wood these would be just to fit the area around them and add some into interiors that would be cobbled together with bookshelves tables and bed frames. The parkour should also be snappier and more grounded like seen in the e3 demos.
For redoing story missions make an epilogue that takes place after x13 where the renegades pks and nightrunners fight at the mountain castle for supplies hidden in it and in the 3 different endings depending on who you side with would take the city and its surrounding areas.
Add cut quests such as the devils bridge quest safe cracker quest scavenger quest and an expanded prologue
For combat you could add unused enemy models allow enemies to do parkour and add the Scorpio to the already vast amount of weapons at the players and enemies disposal. For Infected give them glowing orange eyes at night to add to the horror aspect of the game and add more models with cloths to match where the infected are at. For both infected and people make it easier and smoother to chop the limbs off. In the Vnc mission the pks talked about an infected that hung to wall so I think that could make for scarier gameplay.
For the regions overhaul make all the area within the walls playable such as the chemical covered areas as these just make the game world look and play terrible as there’s not a lot of freedom in gameplay a good way to do this would be an actual epilogue this would have a long quest after the story is finished this would also add the castle and opera as a part of villedor that you can walk to and don’t need to teleport to get there a way you could do this is from the Saint Paul island where the Henon renegados camp is get rid of the chemical area around and add a mega mall darkzone where you have to clear out each floor and all the stores for high end clothing and weapons you could add all of this after x13. Add the bazaar basement that aiden entered the city from and allow players to travel through the mountains and surrounding area.
For the building overhaul would just be adding varying structures and sizes to buildings and make interiors look different so it feels like I’m not running in circles
Multiple entrances and exits to dark zone so the game flows seamlessly and collapsible objects that drop the player into darkzones

Well, actually what they should be is an unedited gameplay demo played an independent third-party, i.e. a demonstration of what actual gameplay is in its rawest form played by someone who isn't tied to the developer or a demo driver so the presented gameplay is as unbiased as possible.
But this is definitely a step in the right direction, especially after the long period of silence.

A better way is to just release a build of the game to various journalists and influencers and tell them they can do whatever they want, show whatever they want but they can only show X minutes of footage (and nothing that the devs consider a spoiler). This gets the game into many hands who aren't directly tied to the developer, gives those people the freedom to be as kind/critical as they wish and because many people will be trying it, any bias will be obvious when you correlate their impressions with each other.

its a shame they had to cut a lot of story elements and choices from the game due to them firing their main writer over allegations. They should've kept him on until the end so that they could've put out a better product. I sincerely hope that they add cut content back into the game, it would definitely improve the game a ton. Despite the issues with the game, its a blast to play and its one of my favorite games to get lost in!
If I'm not wrong, Chris Avellone wasn't involved too much when it came to the main story. He was mostly involved in a few side quests, though I may be wrong.

Watching the protagonist lop off heads in the trailer makes me wonder how many heads before the weapon is broken.

That or you find a tunnel in the game with scribblings of a mad man and find the vials that crane had at the end of the following having you choose between testing this on you and the people around you, or getting it to its intended destination with either having drastic consequences on either the factions or the zombies
I'm hoping there will be a boss fight when you have to fight Kyle Crane while he is a night hunter all withered and decayed like the Volatiles
If we think about it, he could be the reason of the outbreak, if him staying alive as a “sentient” volatile is canon that would make so much sense, since the virus stayed in Harran and in the nearby areas, inside walls, when he comes out transformed he is in another city, outside the walls of Harran, he could be the reason the world went to hell and 15 years later, well, here we are, that would be so tragic yet so amazing to even have a glimpse of what happened to him if they chose a “canonic path”

Now I think this game is much longer than the first, dl1 - My attacks were a bit weak at first but started to get a little better. dl2 - My attacks are now more badass and creative because I know how to upgrade my weapons much better. I think I like this game.
It's very interesting seeing just how different the game is now compared to the trailers.

I watched this many times over, I played the first game with glee and have revisited it many times. I'm really hyped about getting to explore some of these nests. Night time was always so much fun in the first game. I feel like I need to go replay the first from start to finish for fun before this drops.

Well they look a lot more, decayed I guess you could say, I still agree the other ones did look a little decaying and gruesome but not as much as this one. It just has a different feel to it.

The first Dying Light game was propably the most fan game I have ever played. Played hundreds of hours and the expansion was insane.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU, this is the first time I've publicly congratulated a game, but you are worth it. It is just 5 minutes of my life in exchange for hours of enjoyment.
I've just finished my first run on my ps4... I don't know how you did it but this is an absolutely amazing work for the device... My only regret was not playing on pc to appreciate the full potential of the game:
-Amazing detail as always (I loved the first one)
-Vibrant and dynamic experience
-I had a couple of game related nightmares (Parkour included) on real life so I was subconsciously thinking about your game. Every day after work I had my dying light reward for almost a month, I was absolutely immerse in this amazing world you have created.
I really enjoyed my experience overall (around 60 hours), the door bug was the only bad thing I can think about the gameplay but nothing serious (molotovs were the solution to most of it)
Thank you for the Easter eggs and for your dedication to the craft, I really appreciate your effort and the conscious evolution respecting the essence of the first game.
You are an amazing team of professionals and you deserve to be congratulated.
I hope you make great DLCs like "the following" for this one.

Actually 2021 version was superior in terms of graphics, lighting, etc because they are using stuff from 2019-2020 lmao. U should check 200 page of cut content document they cut alot of stuff from game.

I love when triple A game trailers show gameplay that actually looks fun, because it makes the devs show up as dedicated and passionate for their projects, unlike some companies which would rather make mediocre products and generate tons of hype around something that isn't even that good
You can see that Techland knows what the audience likes and shows gameplay not like CDPR where they showed nothing, only the trailer and the day of release. I trust Techland not to screw up this game.

@@hankhillsdisappointedsigh to be fair, everyone does it. Just recently CoD: Vanguard was announced, the trailer showed very little gameplay and only relied on cinematics to generate hype. The Dying Light 2 trailers have been different so far because they have been centered around gameplay. I respect this far more since we actually see something reminiscent of the end product.

why didn't you release this? an actual story game with realistic parkour and maze darkzone with realistic chasing mechanics zombies that hunger and every aspect of parkour was challenging , the hanging metal bridges on cranes , the climbing , parkour combos , momentum was slow and realistic . please techland give us an actual dying light

@@mattc3510 yes I have good sir :), while I disagree of course I respect your opinion but I also played dying light 1 and I grinded both to an excessive level that on xbox I made over 4 newgame pluses and I also have it on my pc I only didnt update the guns update I stopped playing right before that one, the game is always too easy or too hard there is no middle, you dont get to like...challenge the game it's even parkour is too easy, THE PHYSICAL pparkour feature is great but it doesnt give the same feeling of this that you have to plan your route based on stamina and no on pc I dont have stamina maxed out it's pretty normal but still the same thing ur not really rewarded with any satisfaction even if ur really early on in the game and ur doing parkour to the perfect amount or combat, either the enemies are too annoying or too easy there is no really risk reward combat system, I had to install mods to make the parkour just similar to this trailer style of parkour gameplay
Daaaamn this gameplay looks smooth. Seems like they actually took ideas from the original, and improved upon the engine that ran said ideas to make it feel more fluid. That's EXACTLY what I was hoping they'd do, so this is already looking pretty promising. Hopefully this isn't another cyberpunk situation, and this game turns out to be just as good if not better than it already looks.

The amount of content that was cut is just depressing and humiliating although the game is fun 2019 was the year this game was at its prime the parkour, environment, detail was just perfect but nope it was all changed and the world just feels bland and empty idk why the developers decided to drastically change so much :/
They fired the main story writer and a lot of other devs left because of bad management, which meant they "had to" rework a lot of the game
I know I'm in the minority here, but this game was incredible in my opinion, can't wait to see what you guys do with it in the future!
it was like this with dl1 too, everyone was complaining about this and that but eventually it became the game it is today. someday im sure everyone will remember dl1 and dl2 as the masterpieces they are

Bruh, they had headbob in DL1 which for some reason was not even able to be disabled, not even using ini configurations or more. Devs are taking in constructive criticism.

Im cant wait to get my hands on this masterpiece I loved the 1st dying light the horror,the emotions,the tone everything and I can tell this game will be the same or improve on those.One thing I am noticing in the trailers is that the story is a bit more focused on the humans rather than the zombies themselves now i'm not saying that' a bad thing it's not it interests me to see how times have changed since the first game and when things get bad it brings out the worst of people that was something I enjoyed in dying light one even with there being some survivors left they were still divided some for good some for their own need for power and greed and I love how the player can make their own choices that was something I wish I could have done in the first game.Im no critic and my words shouldn't stand out for anyone but I just wanted to say to the devs that their doing an amazing job with the game even with whats going on in the world right now you all are awsome for this and cant wait to play the game for myself.
