@driftx2 I suppose if you pretty much are driving dirt trails, sure lockers might not be needed. They are most definitely useful for rock crawling pretty much anything other than dirt roads.

Range is awesome … but, 6 years later, I have no heat in the cab. $4,500 to fix it … some odd diverter part buried in the dash … requires full dash removal. On a truck with only 55K miles. As a multiple Toyota and Honda owner, I can say this with confidence.. Japanese engineering is hard to surpass when it comes to crafting cars and trucks. Their meticulous attention to detail and adherence to rigorous standards are commendable. While Japanese vehicles may not always win in terms of aesthetics, their reliability is unmatched. In essence, if you prioritize appearance, opt for an American-engineered vehicle. However, if you value quality, reliability, and your Wallet lol, Japanese vehicles are the way to go, any time of day.

I would love a trailhunter 6ft bed, no snorkel or Bed Rack so I can put a camper on it and not feel like I wasted money on that Bed Rack. As for the tires, Toyota has commented previously that the tires they choose are for NVH and to avoid negative reviews in the first 6 months of ownership and that off-roaders will but the tires they like to use anyways regardless of which truck they buy. The only thing that bums me out on the Tacoma is the lack of rear air conditioning for my dogs. My ZR2 lasted 5 years without any issues except:
    - The headlights were a joke. I believe I read that the previous-gen Colorado has the worst headlights sold in North America.
    - 8 speed had a class action lawsuit against it, one of the worst transmissions ever
I ultimately sold it because I couldn’t safely drive it in my climate due to the transmission shifting improperly without throttle and causing wheel spin.
But if those things are fixed here, would LOVE to get one again…

This is my thought also. Engineers apparently have never been in wet muddy conditions. Had to put fuel in a former employers (non GM) truck with the then new capless system. It was full of dirt and no way to get it all out, so some dirt went in. Also, in wet weather, I;m sure some water pools there, and ends up in the fuel, too. Capless is a really dumb idea.
