The difference today in the game between CSK and MI was plainly planned skills vs. brute force cricket. MI's brute force failed today. For Hardik to take the onus on himself to bowl, the last over is partly foolish and partly a responsibility on himself, saving the other MI bowlers ridicule. He could have been the hero if things had gone his way. Unfortunately, cricket has its own game. Hardik, as is being noticed recently, is not able to combine both his bowling and batting for a winning solution. It is either one or the other. Therefore, there arises a question of his all-round ability. Don't get me wrong, this is also often the case with Jadeja. India perhaps needs a timely intervention at this point. It could be Shivam Dube taking Hardik's spot in the WC with Hardik as his replacement in the 15. Shivam's batting abilities with his long levers are well proven in this IPL, whereas Hardik is struggling to even get even closer to his decent performance. His game, other than a few punches here and there, is too weak. I am sure that India can easily manage to get a few overs from Dube at a decent pace in the short format. Give him the right direction, and he may even bowl Yorkers. I see Shivam playing in the Team India 11. The selectors and team management need to closely watch Hardik's performance as a true all-rounder and not just as a batter prior to engaging him in the 11. He is failing as a finisher, too. Team India already has a plethora of batters.
