- The Los Angeles Clippers are in the midst of one of the most important seasons in franchise history. After a few years of the Kawhi Leonard and Paul George experiment, they added James Harden this season to build a formidable big three, one that led them to the one seed at one point this year. They've been heralded as the West's best chance at dethroning the Denver Nuggets and often called the best Clippers team of all time. However, they're starting to see injuries pop up and are slowly falling out of contention for the one seed with a real chance at slipping out of the top four. They're falling apart at the worst time and it may be the result of the same old things. Let's talk about it.

Is anyone truly surprised. The Clip's wonderful superstars are all in the twilight of their careers. They've all had major injuries and are playing starter minutes. Everybody needs to be healthy for them to make a run. What are the odds? Not good.

No matter who's playing, no matter who's coaching, no matter what year it is, the Clippers will always find a way to Clipper themselves out of contention

I really want this franchise and these players to finally get a chip, but I’m not optimistic. And given their age, this season feels like the group’s only chance. Hope they surprise me.

Sure we can, Harden’s one of the most notorious playoff chokers in history, Kawhi’s the only star player on that team that’s won a championship, and he hasn’t been “healthy” all but in one postseason since 2019. With him they have a chance, but I don’t trust him to be out there
Harden is literally following the same trend he has for the majority of his career lol. Idk why people were hyped on this team - I've been saying it since the Harden trade. They aren't winning a damn thing with him except an early exit
It not just that they are losing, it’s how they lose, blowing big leads w/o a fight. 17-3 against bottom feeders a few games over 500 against quality teams. Team is ok not championship material and I am a big clips fan. Age, lack of athleticism especially at the 4& 5, and Paul George is a consistent disappointment. One of the most overpaid over rated players in the league
All retirees talk about that, the extra gear. But they also say that one day they try to go in that extra gear and it's not there anymore.

Pretty spot on recap of the Clippers situation. Nice job. The injury to Westbrook is a bigger deal than most are making out to be. He was the battery recharge that Ty Lue used to restart the team when they started to falter, and now that is gone.

As a Wolves fan, the Clippers are just a great matchup for them. They are a team that play a chunk of iso and the Wolves perimeter defenders can just clamp on down on those guys. Their bigs aren’t good enough to stop Rudy roaming either. And, if fully constituted, they have nobody to stop KAT on defence
The Clippers need the playoffs to concentrate. It's just that everyone is hyped to play them.
The all star break seems to have cooled them off...
Overall they're lethal offensively and decent in defense but their biggest WEAKNESS is that they're too slow and suck in Transition defense and they struggle against young teams who are just pesky on defense and make them turn over the ball.
Another thing is that HARDEN and PG have been in a slump, but HARDEN is ok since he's the point and still facilitating the offense and doesn't shoot as much as PG or KAWHI, but PG really has to step it up cuz he's been playing awful. Teams don't even bother double teaming PG anymore. And every time Kawhi gets doubled, no one goes to help and alleviate him and seem to just hope for him to shoot over the double team.
Leonard is the only proven playoff player. Paul George very inconsistent and James Harden consistently awful in the playoffs

My biggest problem with the clippers is; the bar is set so high but the expectations are so low because we know they should be contenders with that talent but we also know they can't stay healthy for a long stretch of games
Paul george has this issue where at times he goes minutes without shooting the ball and it pisses me off. The timberwolves were coming back and i just watch paul george basically look like he didnt care , pg has to do better

Despite all the criticism and everybody always talking mess about them every year. I know they will be in the playoffs regardless. The problem is just post All-Star they just look mentally out of focus. They need to look internally and fix this if they want to fix the ship. It starts with PG and Harden (mostly PG). You want to stay in LA, play like it. Clips know aggressive PG is the best PG and Harden I know he a passer but dude if you got a shot take it cause Harden being over passive is a problem. It’s a mental hurdle right now, only way to fix it is look in that locker room and say “Imma step up, imma do better, we know what we can do”.
At minimum, a playoff berth is expected with the roster. It's their post season performance that's the issue. PG Harden and Russ are playoff zilches, especially Harden.
The competition in the west is brutal! Every single team in the top ten could win the whole thing. It’s all about who brings there A game in the playoff. Injuries & rest is the key, but there in very close race with multiple teams just behind them! Looks like clippers will disappoint again, but it’s also possible they will win the whole thing.
