Yasmeen is one of those models who took the job seriously, worked hard, and really tried to sell the clothes. There’s no fashion in today’s society. People have dressed down if anything, we need to bring back classic models like her with runway personality with classic designers that have talent!
There's a recent YT video posted of Tyra singing Yasmeen's praises about doing her own make-up. Props to Tyra for that, because Tyra did get her walk mainly from Yasmeen.
I think this was one of the first runway clips I’ve watched where I actually liked most of the clothing being modeled. I was like, man, where can I find that now?? Lol
Whew! No one could drop and remove a top, cape, coat, wrap, whatever off her shoulders, turn on her heel AND toss a haughty look before turning her back like Yasmeen Ghauri. Shalom Harlow? Ma-a-aybe. But nah! NO ONE but Yasmeen does it better.
I just loved models of that era, and Yasmeen Ghauri was one of my favorites. She basically fell out of fashion (seriously no pun intended) when Grunge arrived and all of the models had the “heroin chic” look and were “waifs “. She was just amazingly beautiful and iconic.
Oh! And to note. Observe how Yasmeen's eyes always scans the crowd, sort of just above their heads while she's on the runway. Like she's casing the joint on behalf of an international spy ring. Or alerting cat burglars where, within the crowd, the best jewels can be scoffed and which door to take making the quickest exit. Or? She could be an undercover, Interpol agent attempting to spot a criminal on the lam seeking anonymity in the fashion crowd. Impossible to guess. Whatever. Yasmeen would have made a great Bond girl. Not of the obvious, decorative sort, but a very calculating, very dangerous one. The sort who could withstand any kind of torture and say nothing! Nothing! Agreed?
4:17 OMG!!! The way she walks swiveling her hips while perfectly fitting into that Valentino dress. It's like that dress has a life of its own. She has the perfect statuesque physique. Tall and slender, with a small waist, broad shoulders and curves all at the right places. 25:54 HOT DAMN!!! Here comes Madame Ghauri. 30:20 I swear. Had she not retire from modeling in the late 90s, she would have become one of the og VS Angels alongside Helena, Karen, Stephanie, Tyra and Daniela. She had the perfect figure for the brand plus an atypical and exotic face that would have broken barriers in this industry. She always reminded me of Princess Jasmine. Great video giocurve. You certainly did justice to the Amazonian beauty Ms. Ghauri was. Btw, will you be updating more runway tributes to other 90s supermodels? I would really love to see Karen Mulder.
Lissandra Freljord - THANK YOU! This took a lot of time to do along with editing and researching. I usually do this as a hobby but after awhile it's hard work.. haha.. Would be nice if I can get paid from CZcams, but not sure my posts are eligible for monetization. Thanks for being a fan of my channel 🙂💙
Yasmeen did a ton of VS catalogues in the 90's, selling regular clothes as well as lingerie and swimwear - but I think Yasmeen quit the biz before VS started doing internet or televised fashion shows - I remember in the industry when VS started doing fashion show, many in the industry thought "why?" because fashion shows were for fashion houses to sell to retailers, retailers didn't do their own shows. . VS started as a racy mass-market US catalogue retailer (replacing Sears catalogue bra section as bathroom reading for teenage boys), Stephanie Seymour got VS big attention, so then VS started hiring other high fashion and not catalogue models to do their catalogues (catalogue models being pretty but not particularly distinctive models that would work for Macy's etc), which was innovative at the time, but also expensive, and it worked. Yasmeen was one of the high fashion models they hired after Stephanie. . VS did have boutiques but catalogue was their main biz, then VS decided to start being innovative as a retailer doing broadcast shows, dropped regular clothing, and the rest is history. I love Yasmeen, a friend of mine worked at her agency in Montreal where's she's from, I so wish she had stayed on a bit longer to be in their televised shows.
I love her VS entrance at 30:20, did Yasmeen open this show? I agree Yasmeen could have been an OG Angel - but Yasmeen didn't need VS the same way Tyra did,... similarly Naomi only went to VS when she needed them to help extend her career and keep her name in the press for something more positive than throwing things at people. This show was not televised, look at the press lining crushing the stage. 90's shows had the press and magazine editors and buyers up front (well not buyers at VS) not bloody Paris Hilton or Kardashians.
giocurve - Indeed I can see that you put lots of hard work in researching old footages of the 90s models and editing these clips to create your videos. Thanks to you, the work and legacy of these fashion icons can be recognized by both the older generation who grew up admiring the 90s supermodels and the younger generation who is just starting to learn about the fashion industry. Thanks for keeping Ms. Ghauri's legacy alive. It's sad you don't get paid for this. Your work certainly deserves more attention.

She is to me the best runway supermodel. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yasmeen is becoming my favorite (underrated) supermodel...
This is one of the best compilations I have ever seen on Yasmeen Ghauri. Good work and well done.
Wow! Thank you so much for the kind words. Yasmeen Ghauri is my all time favorite Supermodel. Appreciate your comment ❤☺
giocurve agree :)
giocurve agree. Superb!!!
I have to agree this is a tremendous gift to us, I have enjoyed this video of Yasmeen Ghauri over and over, thank you for a great job,
Breathtakingly beautiful! She is the epitome of style & grace.
She always understood the assignment
Right
im like 20 years late but im in love with HER!!
Haha same.
17:23 She is like a goodness walking on water, such an icon, i love her
Jesus can neveeer ! 💅
I do agree
Imagine having to walk right after Yasmeen....unless you're Naomi...you're defeated, hands down....That girl takes no prisoner!!!
it wasnt a comoetition 😂 the models have to represent the clothes not themselves.
😂Kate was better.
I just loved models of that era, and Yasmeen Ghauri was one of my favorites. She basically fell out of fashion (seriously no pun intended) when Grunge arrived and all of the models had the “heroin chic” look and were “waifs “. She was just amazingly beautiful and iconic.
No she quit at her peak to pursue an MBA and raise a family
One of the best runway artists to EVER do it
Nothing! Agreed?
Totally!
Perfect!
Haha right..
I cant get enough of her. I see this video Every week. She was SO amazing !!!!
Awww THANK YOU! :)
I understand that she did her own makeup for the fashion shows Amazing!! Again Bravo Yasmeen!
More than 20 years , yet these clothes are still relevant today. .. proud Yaseen admirer !
Steve Hugel - You and I seem to agree in lots of things. You elaborated several of my comments with positive details for he great Linda Evangelista to now Yasmeen Ghauri to even the late Lucia Popp, who has no business in fashion. Ha! You have good taste taste sir.
its weird how naomi always talks about never touching her dress but then here's yasmeen pulling down her dress and still dominating most runways of her time
I mean they’re 2 different people.
@@zvezdoblyat really ? I thought they were the same person
@@thefashionhoe yeah I could tell
@@zvezdoblyat thank you for enlightening me
Naomi was talking about not touching the dress in a photo 📸
Yasmeen is absolutely mesmerizing!! The Fashion however, is amusing 😂. The 80’s-90’s is my era and it was interesting. Some shown here could be (and are) sold today. Thank you for your editing skills - this was a lot of work.
WWWOWWW!!! She has the moves! So graceful, elegant and majestic.🤩
18:31-18:54 - is probably my favorite runway presentation. Her walk is so sexy, elegant, regal, fierce, and confident. I love her overall look too. I like her hair best at that length. :)
YES!!! I agree with this!
19:19 Mine this😍
13:30 RuPaul should have mentioned her...she's an underrated super
YESSSSSSS!!! I wonder why he never thought of her.
RuPaul tweeted a prayer to Yasmeen sometime last year. He knows her, no question.
he tweeted a few years ago her picture saying "i think of you hourly"
Maybe it didn’t rhyme. Lol
I’m so glad she’s on Instagram now!
Please Yasmeen if you are reading this comments, come back to industry, you need to teach this new generation wow to walk darling.
Well said kaya...beautiful xxx
So true Kaya..agree with you...i Love Yasmeen and miss her💕💖
I doubt she will because she lives a very private life with her family now. As much as I want her to make a comeback, we should respect her privacy
@@katemosssimp4011 Yes, I know that it's all jokes, but I doubt she wants to return, as far as I know, as well as her Being a private person, fashion industry is a sick world brimmed with bad people and now it doesn't deserve her(Do you imagine Yasmeen in one of that tacky pieces of clothe of Versace ss21? 🥴🥴🥴 I bet that when she saw them she breath a sigh of relief for not being associated with them for 20 years) I hope she is happy with her family now far away from the hipocrisy of fashion industry
@@j.jauffret2315 agreed! It was a very wise choose of her to leave the toxic industry especially since it began to fall apart in the late 00s! Fashion now is absolute garbage so Yasmeen made an amazing decision to model for a while, make money, get a family, and never look back to live a good life! Very smart of her now I’m sure she is happy. Wishing the best to her tho👍
The 90s what a time and George Michael’s (R.I.P) unmistakable voice makes it more Nolstagic.
Yasmeen Ghauri was one of a kind!
She's so smart & mature to the point you all notice if from that walk she gives us a “look I'm doing my job perfectly then I'm leaving I don't need all of this I have a life waiting for me” vibe👏
the photographers adored her! and she knew exactly how to wrap them around her fingers !
Most of the garments she is wearing are still relevant today.
I love how she gives ready to wear a couture energy. Her natural nonchalence and care-free attitude are what makes her charm.
Whenever I see Yasmeen walks, I immediately recall Tyra and Naomi gives credit to Yasmeen as the best walker and has the walk of life.
Style, class, beauty, grace and elegance. A sway in her hips that could make a gown man cry. The man that would take her as his bride is one of the luckiest bastards on the planet.
I could watch her forever and I’m a straight woman
The best Cat Walk in history of fashion ❤️🇨🇦
🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰 she’s Pakistani
My Girl! My Fav! The best WALKER out there!
Overwhelming! This woman is perfect, posture, attitude, beautiful, wonderful body and a captivating walk
Jerry Hall, Karen Mulder, Yasmeen Ghauri, Naomi Campbell, Sonia Cole, Gurmit Kaur & Dalma Callado : Best Runway walkers ever. These icons need to give new girls some haute couture walking lessons.
Don’t forget Aria!
Her career was short but HUGE
16:38, look how she leads Naomi and Helena! She is so shiny on stage
Helena is so stunning. Yasmeen doesn’t come close.
She is absolutely gorgeous! I had never heard of her but she is a BEAST with that walk!! OMG! And the clothes are fabulous!!!
2:29 she struts right pass Naomi like it’s so simple
Omg ur soo right...I think her walk just woosh naomi swing hip...
lol and they both give each other just a little bit of room.... Naomi doesn't do that for very many.
Steve Hugel wow, spot on! I was like damn they’re gonna run right into each other. Both dominated the runway
26:58 Canadian model overload! Yasmeen comes on as Linda Evangelista exits. As Yasmeen exits, on comes Eve Salvail, another Montrealer. (I was at the show where JP Gauthier discovered Eve Salvail :-) Thank you for the hard work on this video giocurve!
Steve Hugel - Thank you for the sweet comment. I appreciate it. I'm glad many people are a fan of Yasmeen as much as I am. The runway is were she truly shines. ❤😊
Thank you for helping her name be known again! When I first came to CZcams over a decade ago, there was very little on Yasmeen online, but now she has her fans, as she deserves.
Eve Salvail Right! Didn't know she was Canadian wow
The model in red that we only see her back exiting right before Yasmeen was another Canadian supermodel Shalom Harlow (my favourite). That made 3 Canadian models one after another. Memorable unique moment, Canadians overload indeed!
@@kevthnguyen Thanks! I worked with a designer that went to school with Shalom in Oshawa, although I never met her. Similarly with Yasmeen, a friend of mine worked at he modelling agency in Montreal, but I never met Yasmeen. I did see Linda and Eve in the flesh, I remember both times very well. I was so proud of our Canadian supers.
This woman might be the best looking person I’ve ever seen. 😮
Usually prefer the 80s models but Yasmeen is the best ever!
It is called "walk of life" for a good reason. there is something girlish, naïve and at the same time so sexy and captivating. There is no way to overlook Yasmeen Ghauri
One of the best walk of the era until now.. She looks sophisticated .. 💖
Thank you so much for sharing this video of the Goddess Yasmeen. She is,for me, the most iconic Model of 90s for her beauty, walk ,feminity and sensuality. The One and Only.
Stunning beauty with the best ever
" Cat Walk " in the fashion history
❤️❤️❤️
No words.... She is perfect 😍
I love this model, yasmeen ghauri is beautiful.
My all time number 1 female model. Gezz i miss the 90s. Thanks for the memories Yasmeen miss and luv ya! Hope your doing well these days. ❤❤❤❤
My favorite súper top model of all time❤❤❤❤❤😊
She got it oh baby she got it ❤️😎👍
Wow, what a stunning beautifu and a powerful walker on the CatWalk. I never heard of her till today. Wow, she is left out of the fashion Super Model fame...I add her to it for sure.
The most beautiful perfect woman ever created...
GREAT MODEL SHE DID A GOOD JOB THEN MOVE ON GREAT MEMORIES
Your opinion only
Yassmeen has no rivals even today. The closest to her walk and magnetism is Naomi Campbell. And that’s it. 😎💃🏻
Check out SHALOM ..
@@raquelvlogzz1183 No offence but her walk is atrocious. She looks like she’s going to topple over
I prefer Helena Christensen but to each their own.
if you want to compare her walk with naomi s then 2:28 is the reference
