- Zach and Steven try out the new Sorcery TCG Beta Precons for the first time, showing the gameplay available right out of the box. In this match, it's the Geomancer (Earth) against the Sparkmage (Air), a thrilling clash of stability and potency.
Monumental thanks to Eric's Curiosa for being excellent partners and for making a truly special game. - Hry
Glad to have you all here.
But where my refund tho?
The production quality on this video is insane! Well done boys!
Excellent video. I love the casual vibe mixed with the excellent production values and insight. The "jazz club" conversations and pop-up text are something I haven't seen before in a game play video. Much appreciated!
Awesome production! Happy to see high quality play videos with rules explained at the same time!
Trying to make your job a little easier, Haine!
May I say this is the best Sorcery gameplay video ever. I love those pause moment, where you explain your thought process. Please do more of this video!!! I can’t watt for my precon to get in🎉🎉🎉
"We have the beef!" Awesome video and game guys.
Production quality is awesome guys good job! Also idk how other people feel but I like how even tho this is just one game, this video is an hour and a half. As someone who will be playing for the first time in a week or two with these decks, the slow tempo and casual explanation of rules makes this easier to digest. I play quite a bit of magic already so I have a small grasp of things but I guess I’m saying I’m glad this isn’t sped up or anything and it’s just raw and shows both of your thought processes throughout the game and the jokes of course haha
Agreed. There are other videos with much faster gameplay, enjoyed the casual pace and "jazz club" time
Really appreciate this feedback. It's what we've been wanting to lean into for a long time, even though it's clear that short and fast videos are much more favored by the CZcams algorithm.
We'll keep at it!
Jonathan, you have truly outdone yourself... amazing!!
you've also raised the bar and now this has to be the standard 😂.
awesome gameplay video ans great 1st look at the Beta starters. Both those Avatars are insane!!
I'm just here for the vibes. Not planning to get into this game, but I just like hanging out with you guys.
Love to have you here, Julien. You're always welcome to hang!
Production quality is best in slot!! Love the camera angles, the headphones, lush music and simple pop ups! Please continue!!
Insane production quality.
My two booster boxes are coming Thursday from you guys (with the lightning promos)! I'm so excited. We originally only ordered the Alpha precons from the Kickstarter. Looking forward to building some cool decks.
Love it! Thank you for the order.
Well done. Great game and loved the commentary and the fight animations. These decks look very fun. Sparkmage seems to have some good damage potential too.
Just got my notification that my boxes have shipped out, can't wait to see them! Thanks boys!
Thank you for the order!

I love that the rogue has a cross bow but decides to body slam while holding an arrow instead of firing it. True dedication
I really enjoyed watching this one 😃Then with the textboxes and the fact that you are taking you the time to explain makes it a fantastic learning video. It also make's a difference according to others that are spoiled right now, then if you like more tempo videos Haine and Jesse would be the once to watch. And therefore the Beta reveil is quiet covered 💯
Looks like fun! Cannot wait to actually get to play it when my starter decks come in.
Great video! Love it!!!
You guys are the best!
Happy Beta Week!
Looking forward to picking up some magnetic sleeves from the Team Covenant "great outdoors" range any day now
Super good Video. THX
I loved the Avatars art from Alpha 😭 now I gotta search for alpha precons and hope they don't cost a fortune.
I love the fact they included the foam. Finally a company that realizes their players like to protect their stuff.
Loved this, and really helped me understand how the game would feel to play. Thanks! Are thee currently any ways to play Sorcery with more than two players in a single game? Like 2v2 or something?
Yes! 2v2 an 4-player FFA. One of the community members, and the guy hosting SorceryCon in February, made a 4-player map. We just got it printed at Inked for $50 for our own games. You can find it on our Discord - cov.link/discord in the Sorcery channel.
Watching this with the battle mat, I kind of wish the atlas deck had square cards to set it apart and have the lands fill the battle map squares better
Do like the poker dealers do and "wash" the cards all over the table. Somebody might have a heart attack! 😂
what dice are those?
NO SLEEVES??! 😱😅
The video looked amazing and the animations were over the top. I'm pretty sure Cloud City doesn't work that way, it doesn't carry "large minions" with it according to curiosa. Not sure what the hell a "large minion" is and it's not in the rule book but I really like that you played it logically rather than to the letter. Although the turn the Nimbus Jinn was cast, Zach had 6 mana, played the Nimbus Jinn for 6 mana and then moved the cloud city which should have cost 3 mana. Again, I prefer the silver rule in this game over anything else but it's just another reason I don't see this as a competitive, tournament style game in the least
Hey Crosswalk, large minions are minions that occupy more than 1 site, like the Mountain Giant which occupies four (Or auras animated by the Enchantress).
Also the elemental symbols aren't spent like mana. They're a threshold system where you can cast spells or use abilities as long as you have that many symbols total on your sites.
Cloud City doesn't cost any mana to use, the threshold symbols need to be met but otherwise it's free! :)
I hate the rules for this game. When you played the entagling terrain no where on the card does it say it can be played on top of four sites like that. If you go to page 10 of the rule book it doesn't mention you can play it over 4 sites. Are you supposed to know it can target multiple sites because it says "affected sites"? Learning this game is so annoying.
Checkout "Casting Auras" on Page 19 of the rulebook. It is a game you sink your teeth into, for sure. That's a big part of its charm!
