I’ve been a Billingham owner ever since I discovered them 20 years ago. Freaking love them, especially the Hadley range. However, IMO the midsize Hadley is my least favorite, if encourages a fairly heavy load, but then doesn’t provide the same wide straps as the One does. For this reason I prefer the Small/Small Pro which forces a smaller (thus lighter) load, of if I want more, I go for the One which has that beefy strap that makes it more comfortable to carry when heavy.
Bellingham exudes quality. It’s the “Leica of bags”. I’ve had mine for years and I use it as a camera bag with the padded insert and as a travel bag without.
I've had mine since 2006. It's just starting to wear through the canvas enough to start thinking about a replacement in a few years time. Remember to buy the shoulder pad with this, it makes a massive difference to carrying comfort and stops the strap slipping. Inadvertently tested the waterproofing one night when I left it out on grass in the garden overnight during heavy rain. The cameras inside the inner were bone dry, even though water had come in through the outer stitching in places. I recommend jigging up a stabiliser strap if using on the bike though.

I never found the shoulder pad to add much comfort as it’s kinda hard and doesn’t conform very nicely to my boney shoulder…
Thanks for sharing your insights! 🤙
