Connor is somewhat right about the ability to throw things. Opposable thumbs give humans a massive advantage because we’re able to manipulate objects with far greater dexterity as well as create proper tools. These tools when wielded by a large group of humans (or when combined with a great height) could take down massive prey.

He’s also wrong cuz there’s plenty of animals that can Throw things without thumbs… thumbs are important for more complex shit like building tools hence why only the ape family normally does that… other animals use tools as well just not as similar to the way we do besides the ape family…

I actually lived in Japan for a year when I was in high school. And I survived with my gluten allergy 😂 It was hard, but not impossible. Especially if one visits Tokyo it is manegable. I was lucky that my host family helped me find things. And we almost all the time ate at home...so we just made the food gluten free from scratch ^^
So here are my tips and experiences for fellow gluten free people that want to travel to Japan ^^
To survive it all it was very important to learn the keywords and the kanjis for:
    1) Komugiko = wheat flour
    2) Komeko = rice flour
    3) Mugi = oats
Anyway, in Tokyo, they had at some places special stores for where they sold gluten free products.
At bakeries they tend to sell rice flour breds that was good. In Mitaka there was a place that sold some gluten free products, not only rice bread. Not sure if its there anymore though...
Regarding restaurants, it was a bit harder. Don't try to order omuraisu for example because they always had something with gluten in them...But basically try to find a place where they also sell a lot of vegan food then it's good to go. Or yakiniku if you know what to order. Or places that sell seafood as long as the food is not fried. Most sushi restaurants could provide with some gluten free options on their menu's. Sadly most noodles restaurant are out of question. The same was places that sold okonomiyaki, but I know there was some places in Hiroshima when I visited that had gluten free okonomiyaki. And in Osaka there where a place that had gluten free tempura...but I don remember the name anymore...But some places had rice noodles and buckwheat noodles so that was good 🤷‍♀️ Also if it's okay to eat non-japanese food Saizeria had their paella gluten free. And then there is Sizzler and Denny's that had some if you ask the staff. And if you happen to travel to Nagoya there is a restaurant called en-kitchen (or at least there was one 5-6 years ago) that only had a gluten free menu.
At festivals don't eat dangos because they had gluten in them....But toriniku, chocolate bananas, kakigori etc was safe 👌
Finding warm food from wending machines was impossible. But if you are okay with just regular fries then....😂
At convenience stores there where always some onigiri's that where gluten free. Of course they had something else from time to time. But it was important to read the labels.
So yeah, it was tough at times and ofc it was sad not being able to eat a lot of the foods... But it certainly worked out in the end and I still had a wonderful experince with the food 😂
Also, for answering Joey's question...yes...there are Japanese people that are gluten sensitive. But it's super rare! I only met one girl, she was a few years younger then me. ONE in the entire city of Tokyo 😂🙈

I went earlier this year and their allergen labelling for processed food has massively improved. Like, the hot foods at the front counter in the kombini were all labelled (not specifically for gluten though, but for wheat). Helps cut down any accidents

  • @TF_NowWithExtraCharacters

One caveman with a spear and a looney tunes hole, versus an elephant? Not a chance.
Large group of cavemen all with spears and a looney tunes hole, versus an elephant? Maybe. You still need spears that can actually hurt the elephant.
Add in extra stuff at the bottom of the hole to injure the elephant (like spikes) or break its legs? Now we're talking. If it can't escape, you still have a decent chance of starving it out.
And of course cavemen knew how to aggro. Leading animals to traps and outrunning them to exhaustion were the main ways cavement used to hunt. That's literally where their next meal comes from, you think they won't get good at it with all the practice?

  • @DarthCody700
    @DarthCody700 Před 8 měsíci

Stone age weapons aren't that limiting, you can have atlatles, decent bows, spears, knives. Humans in the ice age took down Mamoths fine, it takes time, preferably many people, and its not like its not dangerous, but it was commonly done. If you got stabbed with half a dozen 10in spears, I'd like to see how far you would make it.
