    There are passives for having heavy equip load, like stamina buffs and stuff, so you can make a build with heavy armor.

    It's not the end of the world if you don't have hp, fp, or stamina because the t3 and t4 food buffs are insane. You can also get away with not having equip load because you can put the blink rune on a weapon in place of rolling, which is pretty funny. The game is harsh, but they give you workarounds if you do end up putting yourself into unfavorable positions like i did

    You can respec now not sure when they added it. You can respec with the statue in the crucible after you unlock it. The downside it uses the fallen embers. Can't remember but its like 1 ember for every 3 attribute points.

    I try all of the character types.
    Two-handed weapons
    Dual-wielding (daggers and other weapons)
    Bow
    Magic.
    I wish the game had tooltips for the blueprints for weapons and runes before you buy them.
    They have tooltips for recipes.
    I bought healing pulse but it only heals other characters so that was a waste of a slot.
    Tool tips for weapon blueprints would be great too.
    It would be good to know what these things are before wasting money on the blueprint.

    "hold onto your points"
    I do this in every RPG I play. I never spend any points until I feel the need to do so and just let them pile up until the game gets hard. The only time i don't is when the game has low cost/free respec; but even then most of those are online arpg's and in those I don't want to waste time figuring out what to spend points on vs killing stuff and progressing quickly.
    As to what I like in souls games, I generally avoid the genre as it really wants you to use a controller which I don't have, and to be frank I completely suck at timing dodges/parries. Like really, really suck.

      @Tenkiei  Před měsícem

      I've only played the game with a controller so I can't comment on PC controls (right now they're unusable for me due to no keybind options). But even if you suck at timing dodge/parry, you can pick up a shield, play a sword and board build then block to learn.

    Great video (as always)! One thing I noticed about the two-stat weapons is that their scaling falls off significantly if you only invest in one stat. You can’t go and just meet the requirements and only invest in one of those two stats if you want good scaling.
    As for the question. In any other soulslikes I usually go ham on two-handers with strength scaling but in this one I cannot find a decent moveset (all feel very slow) with one exception: curved great swords, which are very fluid and quick.

    • @Tenkiei
      @Tenkiei  Před měsícem +1

      I haven't done too much with dual attribute weapons so far, but I also noticed the scaling is lower, it seems like each attribute adds half. But it also feels like right now you don't want to go much past the requirements to wield things anyway. IE if you need 26 str 26 faith for a weapon you'll want to grab that, then invest your remaining points into things like Equip Weight, Health and Focus. This also makes using T3 shields difficult as they require 42 of a stat so you might end up with something like 42 Str, 26 Faith and kinda sub-optimal scaling.
      In terms of 2h swords, I agree that curved swords/greatswords have a nice moveset, the other 2h weapon I like is the Gnarled Saw. It has a really strong charge attack and a pretty fluid multi-hit regular attack. Plus the rune "Limit Break" is awesome.

    Regarding focus: there is a ring you can get a few hours into the game that helps massively with focus. +100 focus, and + focus gain from attacks.
    13 focus and one of those rings is still great, but if you're going to run a build that spams spells/runes, you'll probably want to run 2 of this ring, and then you won't need any points in focus.

    • @Tenkiei
      @Tenkiei  Před měsícem +1

      The focus rings are quite nice, especially if you have gain % of focus on dealing damage.

    • @bartoszmisztal6861
      @bartoszmisztal6861 Před měsícem

      This is 100% correct. One thing I would add is that rings are very powerful and it can easily be treated as an opportunity cost. You could wear a fierce ring (or 2) boosting your damage and armor instead.

    Playing faith hammer and shield in full plate with a focus on cold damage. Will say I want a bit more points in stamina since I suck at parry and prefer to block which takes stamina and halts regen, which can make a follow-up attack combo difficult

    • @Tenkiei
      @Tenkiei  Před měsícem

      If you can find it the "Gain Stamina on Block" mod is a life saver when you're blocking frequently.

  • @McKnabbZ
    @McKnabbZ Před měsícem +1

    The game play feel good and fun but runes need to take a bit of stamina. Even if it’s just a little. To easy to spam rune attacks and chug focus potions. That being said drinking a potion might also need to use stamina. Whatever it is it has to be less spammy.

    I noticed that the shield adds nothing unless you actively used it for blocks.
    Its armor doesnt seem to change your total armor passively.
    So I realized it was just dead weight for me since I adopted a dodge style.
    Also I fell in with the pickaxe thats str and faith. And that is the only 1h weapon Ive found so far with those stats.
    Ive found many 1h with str/int, str/dex, dex/faith but not str/faith 🤷‍♂️
    I also invested big in focus and stamina since it made it easier to play.
    I guess since I dont have the need for stats for a lvl 2 or 3 weapon it was ok. But if one wants to go to next lvl weapon its a must to keep investing in those stats while leveling like you say.

    • @Tenkiei
      @Tenkiei  Před měsícem

      I tend to block frequently, especially when I'm unsure about an enemy's move set so personally I found the shield to be very useful.
      Str/Faith is indeed a very uncommon stat spread. The only other weapon which comes to mind is Falstead's Unique sword.

    well no worries if you set "wrong" stats for your first playthrough character.. just remember to stack up on experience bottles for your next characters, as you may know that Characters is NOT realm bound.

      Btw, how about the chests / storages and houses?
      I mean if i start a new character can my new one get access into my purchased houses and storages?
      Or must I put the exp potions into the common chest in the rookery?

    • @Tenkiei
      @Tenkiei  Před měsícem +1

      Characters and realms are separate. Your quest states, monster levels, and housing are all tied to the realm. Therefore, any character you join the realm on has access to the houses/storage.

    They need to put the points they need to fix that system because it's preventing players to do anything they have to create like 20 characters in order to try the weapons

    Sword and Board in every souls like for the first playthru.... but shield seems massively underpowered in this game. I hope that changes a bit.

    There NEEDS to be an option to wipe all runes from a weapon, you dont get the runes back, and the weapon doesnt break. As of right now, you can only customize 2 spells/runes on your grey weapon and barley anything on your blue and purple weapons. As a full mage this is devastating because all i do is cast and i can only cast 2 spells i want as an end game level 30. doesnt feel good at all, they are ignoring the needs of magic and archer classes. whats the point of being a mage when i can get a juiced hammer and still cast lightning strikes, novas, and all the top magic. whats the point of a mage now it just restricts you, the fact that melee barbarians can spam high magic is wrong. i worked so hard as a pure mage to get lightning strike just to see some idiot melee meat head casting it as well. feels like a waste
