I'm fascinated by God's “glory stories"-amazing testimonies of the grace and goodness of God. Artists who step out in faith and invite the Holy Spirit into their creativity are full of those stories.
God's original glory story begins with creativity. In the beginning God created. Mankind was made in the image of our Creator; every single one of us is called to create.
It's our collective calling… even when we're unaware of our creativity...even if we attempt to bury our creativity out of reach.
Our guest Latimer Bowen thought she'd put away her creativity for good. For forty years, she protected herself from producing any art. Finally, in 2009, she said yes to creating an image with God…and the results are nothing short of miraculous.
Since then, God has empowered her creativity in equipping others to go into all the world to preach the gospel. Today Latimer leads a prophetic art enterprise called Project 7 Billion with a mandate to reach the nations with anointed art evangelism.
In this episode, we'll witness a few of the “glory stories” that are only possible when we are obedient to the call to create with the Holy Spirit.

I have very similar story. I drew as a child, up to getting married at 17.Then was told everything I did was horrible and stupid. Divorced . Married again at 30 - at 32 started painting and drawing again, Entered shows, won ribbons, Divorced again and life happened again helping children till last year and I was 68. Living with my oldest daughter, where she let's me create my art. In 5 months I will be 70, I want to be at least a little grounded and on my way by then, God is good, and I know if I keep on with the gift he blessed me with "he" will make it happen. All the credit goes to him because without him I am nothing. Have a blessed day and keep up the good work !!!!
My heart is overwhelmed with the incredible feedback from our time together. Matt is prophetically gifted to ask the right questions. It’s like I have a “go” button that is engaged into full speed when he asks exactly the right question at the right time. In early/mid February, I am going to make a week long push to punch out the first manuscript of the book. Hearing your responses puts substance to my sensing that the story of what God has done throughout my life could release keys to unlock other people from captivity. I am an artist, not by degree... i went to a free art class... the instructor said draw what you see on the table. I did. She came over and said to me..."what did you draw? Thats not what you see." Then she points to the items and proceeded to tell me how i should see it. My reply: " thats what you were instructed to see.... I drew what I see. Thats my art style I draw what I see or what "flows subcontiousless" she walked away. The room went silent. But i did not start over, I continued.. and still dive into my ART today!
I can't even tell you what this meant to me..I always felt weird when I would get these pictures in my head when I was in service..sometimes i would just have to jot them down..sometimes I didn't..makes me want to go back now and look at some of my old drawings..I just feel like a kindred spirit to Latimer.❤️. Thank you

This was such a HUGE blessing! I too have had God show up in my art and put beautiful little cardinals right in the center of one of my pieces! I had just discovered through an astrological reading (spirit based), that the red Cardinal is a symbol of personal strength, and I prayed over a painting I was working on for God to just bless my efforts in creating something beautiful and when I was done and looking back at it, there was a perfect red Cardinal sitting right in the midst of what looks like a beautiful, enchanted birds nest, so I named it "the enchanted nest", but wonder if I should just change it to "a gift from God", lol... it's so awesome to connect with someone else who let's God take control of their creations...your art is stunningly beautiful and so prophetic and I LOVED seeing it all! Thank you for sharing your BEAUTIFUL story of faith! Matt your guests are amazing and touch my heart in such a supernatural way! God bless you both! That was awesome!
Thanks for sharing this.. because I experienced what she was talking about for 40 yrs I did not paint.. because my father don't like me to become an artist but an accountant..and when I went to start it again my leader/ mentor told me how can a painting speaks?.. and i cried a lot. I thought he will support me on this. But he is logical person and I'm in the other side and intimidated by his criticism..so I had a depression moment.. when I started to follow your CZcams I became encouraged by their testimonies..but this woman was almost the exact experience with mine . except I didn't study fine arts.
Even when God talked to me that way but no one believes me . they were skeptical about what I told them.. and God told me to be with a mentor with prophetic gift..but my mentor didn't allow me and discouraged me just like my biological father's way. I want to be delivered from that experience.

I too have been drawn to paint or draw the image of the lion with the crown on his head....I never knew the significance of it as related thru Christianity. I associated it with the Lions Gate portal of 8/8 which is a celestial alignment and probably connected to all.of this on some level. The interesting thing is I was inspired to paint a father lion and cub portrait 39 years ago after my first daughter was born. I had never painted animals before and this urge filled me up to paint this image and place it in our small one room studio apartment we were living in. I always wondered the reason for that painting. It held something special in it. Then years later when I learned about the Lions Gate portal I thought that was it.
Then in 2016 my daughter gave birth to her first son, Jacob. He had died in her womb at 27 weeks of an enlarged heart and was born on August 6th. So he was born a Leo...the lion. So then I started learning more about Jacob...the stairway to heaven and the 12 tribes. Things starting fitting and making sense or at least sense in my world. Then this year I was inspired to paint a mural in my daughters basement and following my guidance that is continuing to unfold as I paint this mural....more and more pieces are coming together in a magical powerful way that only the Holy Spirit can orchestrate. This mural is connected to our birthing of the new world containing each of us awakened to our Christed self...it is based out of Africa...holds the Baobob Tree of Life in its center and has an assortment of African animals...some paired, some mommas with babies...its all about rebirth and living in harmony with the land and the animals...
I was guided to paint the lion with a crown on his head as he sits next to the female lion and the baby....the Holy Trinity.
On Monday I drew a face of a lion with a crown on his head as a practice out of the blue for my grandson who is 2.
Then on Wednesday I watch this video.
I am in tears as I feel and make these connections. Oh my goodness...I then do more research on this Lion of Judah and find the Revelations 5:5 quote which perfectly symbolizes the mural I have been guided to paint. I also learn that Africa used the Judah Lion as their symbol as well for the Rastafari movement...
How CS Lewis used this as his inspiration for the Narnia Chronicles which I adore !
So many more connections and threads weaving this tapestry that paints a much larger picture than I realized...how perfect to know that Holy Spirit HAS BEEN GUIDING ME for my whole life.. even when I didn't know it.
To hear about these Miracles through this artists paintings is to claim the Miracles in my life as well .

I tried my lion and chucked it, telling myself it was crap, I still have in in me but not good enough yet like all my art that was misplaced chucked or still coming, thank you for sharing, I hope to do better with the Lord's help, It's confidence and my paintings waiting for final touches of paint that I now have the brushes that was my excuse for not finishing, now I get it I think, God Bless you both and I am good enough thank God Sincerely & hopefully Sharon Lee Buchli
Wondering if we can get an elaboration on her comment "I paint with acrylic and I'll tell you why". I tried acrylics in college, and as a slow worker I got frustrated because the paint would go on in one color wet but would change hue when dry.
