Celebrating the RSN's 150th Anniversary: A Nightdress from the RSN Collection

In our latest film, Chief Executive & Exhibition Curator, Dr Susan Kay-Williams, shows us a beautiful nightdress from our collection that served as an advertisement for our celebrated Lingerie Department.
The nightdress features a monogram as well as technically difficult Raised Embroidery pansies. Although never worn, this nightdress gives us a glimpse into how we would have promoted our skills and expertise during the early 20th century.

This garment was used as a kind of physical portfolio piece so that we could show clients the high standard of hand embroidery that we could do for them.
