Nice simple repair, and you are correct about not wrenching too hard on that bolt. I made sure to douche it good with pb blaster first, and used a 1/4in drive ratchet; now the sensor won't come out so I can clean the rust from knuckle before replacing the bearing. May just have to waste the sensor and get a new one. Ty.
Thanks for posting . Now I know what's wrong with mine. I put new ABS sensor it fixed it for a few days and now the light is back on :) . I found a video where they sell a kit to replace the sensor , the bolts and the magnetic ring only, not the hole hub . Is it a good idea ?
Hi Dave, have you done anything with a brake pressure sensor at all, I've got abs, traction control and tyre pressure lights on but 1 of the codes coming up is 01435, g201
Great video! I’ve just fitted this myself. Is there anyway of clearing the ABS and traction control lights on the dash without plugging it into a computer? I guess I could pop to a local garage and ask if they can clear them, but some garages get funny and won’t take any liability and won’t help you..
I have a 2006 Jetta TDI Manual MK5 and I broke my ABS sensor off when replacing my wheel bearing. The hole that the sensor goes in is quite corroded and I can't get the remainder of the sensor out. Is there anyway to do it without removing the wheel bearing again? I have to borrow the triple square to remove it and I'm worried they'll strip (2 stripped during the removal of the old one and I ended up having to cut the old bearing off with a grinder.).
REALLY useful that dave, got a ABS/ESP light on my 2010 180000k skoda superb, changed the REAR sensor (old 1 had identical) groove in it as yours did, put new sensor in and fault is still on dash, suppose it`s got to be a wheel bearing next ??????
I sent my mk5 GTI to get wheel bearing replaced and now my traction control and abs light is on is that something they could have damaged during the change?
The ring sensor fitted on the hub wasn't fitted so now your speed sensor cannot detect speed. That will actually cause your car to stall and cause a lot of faults.
My Passat abs light n traction light on i check the dtc p00287 ,3842 is coming rear rh abs sensor fault coming ,fisrt I changed the sensor but still the same fault is there after I check the voltage it's 11.76 coming, what is the next step pls help me
Hi, I'm getting error 01130 ABS operation Implausible signal. I clear the codes but as soon as I drive, the hand brake light flashes, the ABS light and Traction control light stays on. Any ideas?

They shouldn't need clearing with a scan too, they will go off by themselves when the system detects that the sensor is working correctly.

id say you would have to remove the bearing and punch the sensor out

Remove wheel bearing and inspect pick up ring, common problem
@@davesterl cheers Dave.
Just got a mk5 gti. Both my abs and traction control lights are on. My esc switch is saying it’s off any suggestions?

Hi,
I'm getting error 01130 ABS operation Implausible signal.
I clear the codes but as soon as I drive, the hand brake light flashes, the ABS light and Traction control light stays on.
Any ideas?
That's either a faulty sensor or a faulty magnetic ring or both. Although 2 years on, I suspect you've long since dealt with the problem.
What scan tool do you use
Autel maxysis 908p
The tip of the sensor and the fastener broke. Is there any way to fix?
I think you'll have to replace it
@@davesterl replace the whole knuckle? I guess I'll start looking for a brand new one
it was more a bearing issue than a sensor issue?
The corrosion on the bearing damages the sensor. The two issues are intertwined.

My guys just charged me 170 pounds didn't get a aftermarket as he says it not as good . And took wheel off to clean behind and the pick ups ???
If the cars on a hoist, why not put it in drive for a brief moment so you don't have to spin the wheel by hand.
Ty for this helpful video btw
The car is front wheel drive and this is a rear wheel. This car has manual transmission. Thanks
