- One day I remember saying to my father-in-law, I wish I knew why time seems to go so much faster as we age. Without hesitation, he explained it to me in a way I finally understood. I'm also sharing information about the release of our next seasonal box, a reading from my journal and how this all ties into Spring and flowers. My mother used to watch a soap opera years ago. The opening scene was an hour glass and a voice would say, “ Just as the sands of an hourglass, so are the days of our lives”. When you spoke of the hour glass, that just popped into my head! Lol. I am 67 yrs old, I know there are more days behind me than in front, but I am using each day as a gift. Learning new things, experimenting with new ideas, etc. Thank you Linda, for all the wonderful ideas you bring each week.

I remember that. My grandma always said the older one gets time the faster time goes. Wow... I'll be 70 in June and I think of that so often. Oh well take each day and do your best for God.

Linda, you have done a great service for your viewers. Don’t put off that mammogram! I was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2015 after my mammogram. I had no symptoms, did not feel a lump, but it was there. Because it was found so early I opted for a lumpectomy and radiation. I will be cancer free 9 years late this summer. Keep doing what you are doing. I wait for alone time on Sunday afternoons and sit with my eyes closed just listening to your soothing voice. Thank you.

You look great Linda! You are an inspiration for those of us like myself who are in our 60’s to keep being invested in our homes and creating a special atmosphere in our homes. Around the age of 60 I kinda of found myself saying, “ I’m not going to do all the things I used to do in my home to make the atmosphere special, I’m tired, I’m done with it”. Then I started watching some CZcamsr’s like yourself and caught my second wind and realized I could live to be 100, I can’t throw in the towel YET! That would mean I’d have a lackluster attitude and home for possibly 40ish years! I cant do that! Thank you for your inspiration!

Yes, you are absolutely correct! Self-care is NOT selfish in any way, shape or form. And no "scolding" ourselves either. Positive self-talk is the best way to go!!!

When I was young and afraid of the pain of the breast cancer screening - my doctor said to me, "Breast cancer is more painful." I've never forgotten that.
Spring cannot come soon enough and your looks so inviting . Let the garden season begin!
When I was 68, I had my annual mammogram. Well, surprise, surprise, I had a very small tumor. It was cancer, it was removed and no further complications. I feel we are never too old to stay on top of our health, it’s always good to know about what is going on in your body. No matter your age!

Before you even mentioned that you'd had a spa day, I was admiring how rested and youthful you looked so you evidently got the full benefit of your spa visit. Just this morning a friend and I were talking about how quickly time seems to be passing. Your Father-in-law's explanation is touching and profound. The iris and forsythia arrangement is a glorious Spring still life and your journal entry of gratitude and appreciation reveals the key to a contentment. Thank you for a very uplifting episode.

love your channel. Bringing the flowers in just makes spring seem not so far away. I love the molds. I make candles, and each one has embeds in them. So, banana nut bread has banana slices and little nuts in them. I love it. Always looking for new molds. Thanks for reminding us that we all need to slow down and smell the roses, or tulips, etc. :)

I like the paper whites in that basket with the twigs. It's really beautiful. I love yellow & purple together. That pop of yellow just made that arrangement gorgeous. I always do a yearly devotional. This year, I bought something different. It has a peacock theme. Each page has the scripture verse, a writing to go with & a place to journal your own thoughts. So far, I'm loving it. Just ordered my Christmas Box which I am so excited about since it was on my list. Love the iris flower arrangement. So glad you made it a priority to have your mammogram. I have been a friend of NED (no evidence of disease) for 24 years now and I still get annual exams. It is so important for women and men to be checked. I have had a male friend die from breast cancer because he told me he thought only women got breast cancer so never worried about it. Enjoy your health and the coming spring🌷

Of course I didn't get to watch this video until tonight so when I heard you were taking orders at this time I tried to get a Spring box but as I figured, I missed it. However, I did pre-order a "Fall" box so I feel like I will finally get one. I also think that your gift box's are so desirable because you are such an example of fine living and everyone knows that the box's you've curated will be that reflection of you and the fine living that you represent. I’m very good at keeping my yearly doctors appointments, I hate going but I do it , love 💕 your videos, Massachusetts has snow on the way for Monday night till Tuesday night , yesterday I was outside in 60 degree weather raking my lawn of pine cones, branches and dead grass, today I feel muscles I haven’t felt in a while 😊

Listening to this morning’s post I reflected that it is during this time of year, after the busyness of the holidays and before spring is when I feel how fast time flows. I can finally take a breath and actually be in the moment. The hourglass reference your father-in-law made was perfect as I turned 72 in December. When you began a description of your plans for the boxes I paused the video and went to your website to truly explore it. Thank You for setting it up as you have in many aspects. I would request, if possible, that there could be more of the BEAUTIFUL framed prints available. I DO love everything you have sourced, especially the prints. Perfect size and in every other way too! I LOVE flowers too, my photo roll on my phone is chocked full of pics of my flowers. Yours are definitely more professional in presentation - you have an eye. Well, I will cease my ramble. It felt wonderful to see your beautiful kitchen area this morning. Two weeks ago a leak occurred on my second floor damaging the ceiling in my dining room below. It will be repaired thankfully. It was a reminder when I think of people who loose EVERYTHING from natural disasters, or something far worse. We are really fortunate in each and every day.
I found my breast cancer during a pancreas scan, in 2022, after having Whipple Surgery in 2021. No one felt it before seeing it in the scan. It was early but I stilI had a lumpectomy. One radiation and 1 chemo, then I decided no more. Life goes on, and I’m almost 82, but enough is enough, One cancer was not involved with the other. So far so good, I’m very grateful. Spring has arrived in Florida, my flowers are blooming, and for today all is well.
Hi Linda, I love the flower arrangements you did as i was at the market this morning i actually bought some bouquets of tulips i got these beautiful blush colored ones and pink,i always use the flower frogs for hyacinths.I thaught I was the only one that uses a pitcher when I do my vessel arrangement.Thank you for mentioning the mammo im putting it off because of fear . Hi Linda, Greetings from the Gulf Coast NW FL-AL line. We noticed pollen on our cars this week. We are having Mardi Gras Parades but, they are getting rained out. The rain seems to give a feeling of everything renewed and clean. I love your hour glass analogy. What a wonderful concept. I feel that in my Middle age. Each day is truly a gift. I am less tolerant of things and people that are joy thieves. I have fond memories of my mom's and grandmother's paper whites as a child. I have had a hard time finding them here recently. They are growing at the old homestead in the country. Your videos are watched by both my husband and I. We both love your videos. It has a good mix of a few of our favorite things. Hi Linda .....your paper whites are beautiful and your flower arrangement is absolutely gorgeous ....and it looks like the essence of Spring! Right now I am enjoying some beautiful deep pink colored tulips that are sitting on my kitchen counter. Sometimes I arrange flowers in a large wide mouth Ball jar, which gives it a nice country cottage feel. When you are in the Keene area, you might want to visit Price Chopper. They have a pretty large selection of flowers...a much better selection than some of the other grocery stores in the area! I totally agree with you....we should take the time to do the things that make us happy and contented ... As they say... life is not a dress rehearsal! Thanks again for another great video.💕💕

My family doctor sent me for X-rays he spotted something in the X-ray as small as a pepper grain yes cancer l go every year for my mammogram so happy to see your videos every Sunday take my friend from canada
To preserve the eucalyptus put into a vase with glycerin- it preserves forever and they keep colour and flexibility

There isn't a time I don't find a solution to a decorating problem while watching your channel. I was behind 3 vlogs; this morning was perfect time to catch up. Today spotted how you stored cutting boards on a plate stand, genius! I have a corner on the counter where I store them, they fall, slip or other items get stacked on them. Also, the l lamp stacked on a couple of cookbooks. I love my kitchen lamp, although it can get lost, another issue solved. Thank you!
That flower press sounds interesting. I would love to learn how to do it I’ve done Eco printing with leaves and flowers and that was really neat. I agree how life goes fast as you get older I’ll be 60 this year, I wonder to myself where has all that time gone you’re so right to enjoy the Earth, the flowers, the moon, the stars, the sun that’s what life is all about nature is our gift from God🦋
We had a touch of spring this week, too, and I found myself wishing for more winter. The cozy season energizes me. You have had all of the snow. I am crossing my fingers that we will see a good snowfall here (NC) this winter. Flowers are cheerful around the house in any season and you have the magic touch with them. I saw that little wallpaper sample above the kitchen doors. Are you thinking of papering the kitchen? I like that one, but I am a sucker for a lattice pattern. It makes the room appear larger. Yes, some paperwhites can be quite stinky (odorous, not oderous...;-)), so they don't appeal to some people, as a result, but, like yours, they do look lovely when they bloom. I have only three in a pot, but I borrowed your slender twig approach and am hoping mine will emerge soon and be as appealing as yours for however long they last. Love seeing the irises with the forsythia - they are so pretty together and such a nice reminder that Spring isn't that far off! I'll check out the next box(es). The advance deposit approach sounds like a smart idea, so I hope it works well for you as you prepare to move your inventory into the new space.

I buy old tea pots at the thrift store that have missing lids…you can get beautiful antique ones cheaply and they are perfect for flowers!
Hi, Linda. I have only recently discovered your CZcams channel, and I LOVE it so much! Your home and property is so lovely and charming...love the fireplace in the kitchen, with Queen Bess overhead. You've almost ... Almost! ... convinced me to get up early enough to watch the dawn break. LOL!!! Working on it...
On the days I sleep late, I get grumpy I missed the morning sky, but realize my body needed it.

Oh yes, I use them often from my garden. They don't last as long as some other flowers though.

I missed out on the Spring/Summer box but I put a deposit down for the Fall box. I am more of a Fall gal so it worked out! You have such impeccable taste and I know I’ll love it! ❤
Yup, I did not even realize that happened until I was editing. I wish had more of what happened in the frame. Keep checking on the spring box if interested. I had a cancellation, but I think that one sold, but it could happen again.

Good explanation on the faster as we get older. When I mentioned how fast my days are going, to my mother she would say Sweetheart ,the older we get the faster time goes. Good advice on health test, I always do mine regularly each year. I agree on touches of fine living what ever that is. Nice choice Linda, on the arrangement. I do weddings and arrangements for individuals, so I can see where stems go from my view and you place stems to fill in just in the right spots for balance. Yes! I always journal, what a good start of each day to do exactly what brings me fulfillment and enjoymemt. You bring so much inspiration to my everyday living. Oh! the molds are exciting. Funny how many of us use books to press flowers! It works, but having a press such as the one you just purchased keeps them all in one place! My daughter ‘s 6th grade class, years ago, was assigned a task to think of a business and develop it. We came up with decorating candles with dried flowers. She named her business “Blooming Candles”. I over saw her melting wax to use in sealing the dried flowers (she dried in books) onto an existing candle. It was well received and she was able to sell them for a profit. What an experience for 6th grade!
Now I’m thinking I will go outside and cut some forsythia to force into blooming! You can also in the Spring/summer, trim your forsythia and just stick it in the ground and it will root to give you more!
Just a tidbit of information that you may already know. When you have tulips in a vase if you put a penny in the vase it will help the tulips to stand up straight. Also when the tulips are in water they will continue to get slightly taller.

Getting a mammogram when I was 57 saved my life caught it early had a double mastectomy but no chemo or radiation thank the Lord
Hey, Linda! Any chance we’ll hear that scary EVP you mentioned last week? 👻 I wanted to mention that activity like that is usually lessened when there are bulb plants or cuttings around. Your paperwhites, your tulips, amaryllis, as well as onions and garlic, and vinegar in your cleaning routine, help clear the atmosphere of most etheric activity. Once the bulbs stop blooming, you can pick up some bouquets with lilies in them, or from your garden, and keep things pretty clear all year long. Some spirits resent saging. It will drive them off temporarily, but they don’t like it. 🙂
Another wonderful video🌱 I was wondering if you would consider doing a video on planning a small, budget friendly springtime wedding. How do you start planning? Do you pick colors first? Simple, but tasty food or what to even serve? Signature drink? What to cater and what not (to cut costs)? What to diy? I think I remember you planned your own wedding??? Just a thought as it's that time of year.....and our daughter may have gotten engaged....lol. (I know you know this, but no worries if not). Love your channel.
Time passes quickly because when we are young a year is a bigger percentage of our life so age six a year is 1/6 but when we are 60 it’s 1/60 of our life span. So it’s now a smaller quicker segment.
Ok. I don’t plant paper whites because of the onerous fumes. I was like you. I kept wondering what the smell was. Wish I had oils back in the day some 20 years ago. Never again but I didn’t think there were different types.
So tickled at the beginning to see Linda make that swipe at her hair while she’s standing there looking as stunning as can be. I love when you infuse humor into your videos, it’s a facet of your personality that makes you shine even more. You have not one thing to worry about, lovely lady!
Concerning the hour glass: Another angle to consider is that I’ve always thought of each one of those grains of sand as a blessing we are gifting to the world while we’re here. That emptied upper section is beautiful, but it’s nothing in comparison to that exquisitely glorious bottom that’s filled with the blessings that we’ve bestowed upon others from our hearts during our lifetime. That full bottom is our miraculous goal to meet, it’s our proof of a job well done.🤍

I’ve always explained time going by faster as we age with a pie chart. When you’re 10 years old, 1 year is a 1/10 of your life which is a pretty big wedge making it seem longer. But when you’re 50, that wedge is a much skinnier 1/50 sliver which would seem to go by so much faster.

In England we would say a kettle not a tea kettle because the water would heated up in the kettle for many different reasons. One reason being to boil the water and fill the tea pot 🌟🌷

Hi, Linda. I love the idea of the seasonal boxes that you will be offering. I think you are really onto something, and trying to use suppliers who are from New England is even better. One suggestion that I had is to brand your boxes. What about "Fine Living Spring Gift Box," "NEFL Spring Box," or "Fine Living Spring Package." I think it elevates what you are offering and is consistent with your brand. I enjoy watching the channel and admire your ambition and creativity with a new item that is unique. Giving viewers a glimpse of the content is a great idea, as I think it encourages additional interest in the product, at least it did for me!!
