- The Oklahoma Sooners are being doubted by EXPERTS across the country and although the EXPERTS believe that Oklahoma will only win 6 games, OU Football fans are not buying these claims. Brent Venables is set to have a breakout year on the defensive side of the ball and the SEC Conference could be awaiting a sleeping giant.

Oklahoma is going to win 9+ games!
Brent gonna have them boys ready no doubt😤
I can tell you right now the players have heard the doubt.
Nobody talks abouts a non-threat as much as our adversaries do...They knew Oklahoma was coming, but WE'RE HERE! #BOOMER💯#CoachBV&Company
Now we have to go prove what we are.
It’s really funny because people give Sark the benefit of the doubt on his third year, but no one wants to give Oklahoma the benefit of the doubt on the third year coach. I understand road environments in the SEC are difficult and the teams that OU are about to play are preseason ranked highquestion remains how good is Tennessee Ole Miss and Missouri among others like Auburn. I still think OU wins 8 to 9 minimum.
11
8 or 9 wins would be a Good first year in the SEC especially with one of the hardest schedules in all of college football. 10+ wins would be absolutely phenomenal and no doubt a true top 10 team.
To be fair, he played Arkansas 3 years ago and got beat down. The next year he competed with bama, and in year 3 he beat bama then competed till the final minutes in the playoffs. Bv hasn’t even played an sec team as a hc
@@blakehorton6306
So just playing an SEC team means that Sark gets the benefit of the doubt in year 3 but not Venables? There’s a lot of similarities between Texas in year 3 and Oklahoma in year 3 (lots of returning players on defense especially). You can say Oline coming into the year is questionable and qb is unproven compared to a year two Ewers though still a lot of similarities between the year 3 of the head coach’s teams.
@@saucehossjosh7272 as an ou fan, we played and lost to a lot of low caliber teams the last two years. Arizona would lose 6 games with our schedule and despite us playing well when the game was over, they dominated us. Texas has experience against sec caliber teams. We don’t. So far under bv all we’ve done is compete against losers, and lost at a high clip.
Good fuel for Schmidt and the boys during offseason, probably even more than that 49-0 offseason… I love it!
Beat TEXASS & Win out! 12-0! My statement is about as sensible as the ones saying we only win 5 or 6 wins! We will re visit this!
I agree!! Very, very possible!! Boomer Sooner!!
Undefeated !!!
GREAT SHIRT KEEP YOUR CONTENT COMING GREAT TO FILL THE OFF SEASON
We are….OU!!!! Keep the receipts folks…there are a lot of assholes out there that will owe this team apologies! Bet ya none of them will have the class or courage to admit they were wrong about this program.
What's the dividing line for apologies start? Not to be an asshole but what's your floor for sooners 1st year through the SEC?
Health will decide alot this year! Those that keep injuries to a minimum will be there at the end! If OU stays healthy we van get there!
Our defense suffered after BV left for clemson. It began a slide down hill, that took some time, but continued to get worse, as LR, took over, because he ignored it, and let it rot. Now BV comes back, after being so successful at Clemson, and OU haters do not see any of this as valid, even as his system begins to make changes and work in Norman. Last year, they loved up on Texas, sang its praises, and it failed to meet their expectations, and oh yeah, when OU had a QB playing that position in 2023 instead of a TE, what happens? They beat Texas. It's just more of the same insanity this season. When people get in habitual ruts of ignorant thinking, they struggle to ever leave them. I'm good with it. Let them do what they do, and let our team do what it does. It will all work out.
I’m not worried about Ole Miss. The two games (other than RRS) that I’m most concerned about are Auburn and LSU
Why Auburn?
@@thePGshow_CFB our first SEC road game and that place can get really wild
@@sonofthesOUth77 Plus for the 1st time in a few years they rated as of now. Them people will be crazy. Should very well be undefeated at gametime.
You right about them tigers too.
Auburn is a win! There are only 4 teams in the nation that didn't pick up one person out of the portal!! Auburn, navy, air force, army. Lol. You just can't win without using the portal. True facts!!
@@JeffCarley-wn3jy TRUE FACTS!!! auburn has added 14 players from the portal as of now.
Being you brought up the portal. Saw something last night. Think it was espn did a piece on what SEC teams did the best in the portal. They accounted for what you lost as compared to what you brought in. Sooners came in at #14 in the SEC. Only ahead of vandy and bama.
If anybody from Oklahoma sees Ole Miss as a loss they should be fired. PG once Oklahoma gets past Texas they need to double down on their conditioning to get through the season. I am so sorry but I just don't see an automated loss on the schedule, not even Alabama. However, after three poor performances after the Texas game, one must be well aware you cannot take any day off because of your immediate success. Yes, the SEC is a gauntlet and Oklahoma has to prepare to go through the gauntlet with Oklahoma red dirt toughness. Oklahoma does not have to take a back seat to no one. Wouldn't even take off Maine, it is a matter of staying focused throughout the season. The only team I would give pause to is Georgia, but can beat them by leaving everything against them on the field.
I definitely agree with you. I couldn't have said it any better!! Boomer Sooner!!
@@JeffCarley-wn3jy BOOMER SOONER 4 LIFE
@@carvanok4226 Always a Sooner for life, Always!!! Boomer Sooner!!
Looking forward to this season more so than ever before.
We are going to smoke Ole Who, our recruiting classes are way better and we also have had top 10 transfer portal classes too, it might be tough but OU is by far the better team across the board in every facet.
I honestly just don't see Ou loosing to ole miss. I just don't buy it. I honestly don't see Oklahoma having a worse season than last year! I don't see Ou loosing to Texas either, but that could always be a coin flip on the red River rivalry! The only game I question, is the red river rivalry?? Been a die hard Ou fan being a 59 year old true okie i think the Sooners could run the table this year depending on the Texas game! The coaching staff has done a phenomenal job recruiting, and filling holes with great talent, that people seem to forget about! The pieces of the puzzle has been strategically put together for this years team. We are going to roll this year!! I think this team can be a 11-1 team at worse, but when I saw the schedule, I thought 12-0 is very possible! Boomer Sooner!!!
I honestly see at least 5 SEC teams that can make exact same statement about coaching, recruiting and hitting portal for great talent.
@@user-xp6qd4sk1j I definitely agree with you. But, Ou has the number one spot on return production from last year. The defense is going to be one of the best defenses, since 2010! Think about that one! They are going to be viscous, and take heads off. Oklahoma will shock the nation this year for all the doubters, and the pathetic Vegas odds. Oklahoma will roll this year! Boomer Sooner!
@@JeffCarley-wn3jy Great uo has most returning production on defense. They get extra points for that? They were #46 in scoring defense and #77 in total defense. That would be a hell of a jump to one of the best defenses in the country. Just curious you have any idea how many scholarship Dlinemen on sooner roster?
@@user-xp6qd4sk1j I'm talking about the returning production of the defense from last year. Ou is ranked number one from espn.
@@JeffCarley-wn3jy I know. What's your point? Those numbers don't mean you have the best returning defense. You finished #46 in scoring and #77 in total defense. That's nowhere being elite.
Any idea how many scholarship DLinemen sooners have on team?
Let's be honest the experts are betting on Oklahoma to be horrible on offense. Not average but really bad because of the o line and how Arnold looked in that Bowl game. But as OU fans we aren't buying that, I see Jackson Arnold having a solid year and my comp for him BO Nix is see him going 25 TD 9 INT with 3,900 YD. Yes he will have some bad INT but will settle in as the season goes on.
Boomer Sooner will be in Atlanta year one. BOOMER!
Key Lawrence lost his spot he can’t fill a gap
sooners are dogs to LSU in Death Valley. From the DLine numbers I saw returning for uo, LSU returns better overall, especially on the edge.
we got 5 star edge player too e got a betterdge roup then LSU with who we return and recruiting classes on top of getting one of the best line transfers that they wanted too.
@@colesatterfield166 Tigers got a 5* edge last year and a 5* DT this cycle. LSU has better returning numbers along the DLine and in particular DE. Tigers have had higher ranked classes than sooners at least the last 3 cycles.
These are the returning numbers for LSUs 2 deep on the edge
swinson - backup last year that had better numbers then the starter - 35 tkls - 6.5 tfl - 2 sks
jones - started 33 tkls - 3.5 tfl - 2.5 sks
shand - backup 17 tkls - 5 tfl - 2 sks
womack - third team 13 tkls - 1.5 tfl - 1.5 sks.
That comes out to 98 tkls - 16.5 tfl = 8 sks.
top returning DT
guillory - backup 27 tkls
Who do sooners return on DLine especially on the edge? Show me what you got.
We going to lose two games to someone we shouldn’t and to Ole Miss. I don’t think Alabama going be the same Alabama. Alabama wasn’t anything until nick saban got there
So you are thinking we have 3 losses?
Ever heard of the Bear?? check his record out.
@@user-xp6qd4sk1j Yeah Bear claimed all kinds of pointless nattys too. Half of their nattys are "claimed" bear was no Barry Switzer or Tom Osbourne.
Oklahoma will go 6-6
