    One thing that might help is making sure you arrow tip is not blunted or dull. Check on it often, because it's easy to hit things under water when bowfishing. Hope this helps. Love the videos!!!

    Love the necessary switching of tactics when things are slow. You do that well, and that's what makes your channel so great. Next....modified over-sized Duck lures for "Duck-Shark 2.0".

    I’ll tell you what young man , you have sure enough built this channel to one of our favorites. We’re in our 70’s and us as a group of retirees, fish the beach 3 or 4 days a week, but mostly get together and bs most of the day. Thanks for making this channel very entertaining and informative to us old farts even if we think we know it all. Your dad has made you an awesome fisherman. We are subscribing back and very excited. To be honest, a few of us were a little taking back when you did a video in Iceland on the museum of penises... I thought is was very funny. Thanks

    If you're going to keep bowfishing, I HIGHLY suggest an AMS retriever or something similar. I also suggest a heavier arrow, the compounds can make those lighter ones penetrate the water, but the recurve shines when you put a heavy arrow with a heavy tip.

    Quick tip when using a bow, don't pluck it. When you pluck the string it will change the trajectory of the arrow.

  • @masontaylor7404
    @masontaylor7404 Před 4 lety

    Really pull that bow back. The arrow bounces because there's not enough power behind it. I've got my bowfishing bow at least at 25 - 30 lbs. But its also a compound bow. But just a pointer. And with a ams reel or even a zebco set up would make a huge difference in your bowfishing experience I think. Love the content keep up the good work.

    • @FoxTenson
      @FoxTenson Před 4 lety +1

      Retention ponds tend to be the best. Look for culverts with flowing water and use a cast net. Catching them on rod and reel is crazy rare, at least for me. I'm not near Jacksonville, but in orlando and space coast areas the smaller ponds and ditches held huge numbers. If you must try rod and reel, tiny bits of worms, and I know someone who swears by carrots but I've never caught one on them. Flies that look like vegetation someone said too.
      Looking around that area, there are some ponds west of town off highway 10 that look like tilapia havens. I can't speak for if they are there, but I targeted places like them, and backwaters of St Johns at times, while in Orlando area. Could work up there too. If they are spawning, jigs in their beds tick em off and you can nail em that way too.

You don't see novices putting up double digit sail numbers, waking up at 4 to high-speed wahoo troll, etc. Way more to learn about the salt, if only because of how much larger the oceans are. Fly-fishing for trout on a stream is my favorite kind of fishing in the world, but you won't hear me saying trout are harder to catch than permit.
