Interesting to see that the Beast Wars machines aren't hug lumbering hunks of metal they are actually just normal sized animals. They might even be close to human heights.
Yeah, that was thanks to what was called ‘The Great Upgrade’, when the Autobots and Decipticons became the smaller (and more Energon-efficient) Maximals and Predicons respectively
They needed to be smaller to save energy. I believe their animal forms save the most energy but they couldn't stay like that too long or else the animal form would make them go wild so they could be transformed when in their ship which provides them with enough energy to stay transformed for long periods of time
@@OverRule2 The reason for their animal forms is as a shield from the high level of energon radiation on the Planet. The level is so high that it will overload them in a short time, but their beast mode allows them to operate outside their Bases (the only place they are shielded from the radiation).
Concerning the animal side taking over, it did start to happen. But Tigertron (who was outside and dealt with that on his own), guided them through it. Rather than rejecting their animal side they had to embrace it, merging the animal side with the machine side, making them more than either alone.
Concerning their sizes, in robot form they are larger than humans but not as large as the Autobots were. In beast mode they are the same size as the animal they take the form of. So while Rattrap shrinks considerably to rat size, Rhinox doesn't shrink as much.
@@Solitaire001 Ahh that makes more sense. I haven't seen it since I was a kid but plan on rewatching it soon though.
No they should be lumbering metals

Not to mention, most animation technology (like cgi fog) they had to develop themselves.

Bumblebee: I wouldn't be surprised that bot who can turned into a cheetah could be a relative of mine, probably a future descendant.
Can you help this stranded dude understand when does beast wars events occur based on the G1 transformers timeline?
@@ImperialAlex the maximals and predacons are from the future and they're factions descended from the autobots and decepticons
The events of beast wars all take place on prehistoric earth, millions of years before the g1 cartoon, but they're from millions of years AFTER
Beast Machines is the sequel to Beast Wars and takes place directly after they travel back to the future
It can't be understated just how weird it was to see how much smaller the Beast Wars cast was compared to the G1 cast. Like it makes sense I guess, but it really did throw me through a loop the first time watching it.
It does leave enough room for character development. Guess kind of like a “quality over quantity” thing while working with how limited CGI was at the time.

For those who don't understand what's going on - Beast Wars takes place in Earth's prehistoric past sometime after the dinosaurs go extinct but before modern man. The Ark with the G1 Autobots crashed on Earth sometime way before that (possibly killing the dinosaurs) and all of the G1 Transformers are in stasis lock which is where they'll remain until the original show started in 1984. Beast Wars' Megatron causes a paradox by killing/almost killing Optimus Prime in the past - which would prevent G1 Prime and friends from defeating Megatron in G1 - which would change the future where G1 Megatron left a hidden message for any loyal Decepticons to go back in time and change the outcome of the war on the Golden Disk - which Beast Wars Megatron found/stole at the beginning of the show.
Pretty much
Why was Optimus Prime in truck form? Didn’t they take those forms in the 80’s? Was this just so we’d recognize Optimus Prime? Or was their a canon reason? Genuinely curious cause I never got to watch a lot of these episodes when I was a kid.
@@capndayafterday If you go back and watch the 1st few minutes of G1Ep1 - Optimus pretty much looks the same in robot mode as he did before/after he got his truck mode.
Also, one more thing to point out from the series, after G1 ended - both Autobots and Decepticons upgraded to maximals and predacons in this continuity. They gave up their larger/stronger bodies and gained efficiency and longevity. So, since every living transformer is effected by the end of the war - it would cause issues for transformers everywhere. The only exception is Tarantulus - who didn't descend from autobot or decepticon. All we're really told about Tarantulus (Tripredacus Council) is that they don't want either side to win the beast wars.

Anyone ever notice that when Primal holds the matrix it shines really brightly and then when he lets go it diminished in light? The matrix only lights up like that when someone who is worthy of it is holding it. Of course Optimus Primal is worthy to bear the Matrix.

Optimus Primal temporary puts his ancestor/namesake, Optimus Prime's spark into his own body while Optimus Prime is being repaired and gained a new larger, more powerful and more advanced body. Megaton did the same thing in "Master Blaster" putting his ancestor/namesake, the original Megatron's spark into his own body and also gained a more powerful body and have his Beast Mode evolved from a T-Rex to a dragon that breathes both fire and ice.
Difference is, we're never actually shown G1 Megatron's Spark being returned; though the scene of it actually happening was cut, it would have been returned at the last minute, just before the departure from Earth back to Cybertron aboard the Autobot shuttle.

So is this when the G1 characters were in stasis on earth before they were awaken
TRASHY GAMING yeah
You are correct.
So they went to the past to wake up in the future?
No the pilot episode g1 starts 4 million years before 1986 and the Autobots and decepticons crash on Earth and they wake up for 4 million years later during that 4 million year Beast wars happened sometime in there
@@stephen19590 Those robots that discovered and entered the Ark in Beast Wars are called the Maximals they are the descendents of the Autobots, and the Autobots are the Ancient ancestors of the Maximals. The Autobots had crash landed on Earth many years before the Maximals and Predacons arrived, the Predacons are the descendents of the Decepticons, and the Decepticons are the ancient ancestors of the Predacons. The Autobots and Decepticons are frozen in "Emergency Stasis Lock" (or just "Emergency Stasis"), Predacon Megatron tried to kill Optimus Prime I'm Stasis Lock so that the Decepticons would win the Great War (the Great War is in Transformers: The Movie 1986). Optimus Primal (the descendent of Optimus Prime) took his Matrix Of Leadership until Optimus Prime was repaired, because Predacon Megatron unleashed a full powered blast into Optimus Prime's face, which near fatally injured Optimus prime, and caused a timestorm. And because of Optimus Prime's near fatal injury the Maximals were beginning to disappear because of Optimus Prime's nearly dying from the injury and the timestorm.
So Optimus Primal took the Matrix of Leadership which turned Optimus Primal into Optimal Optimus which was a mix between Optimus Primal's spark and the Matrix of Leadership which was inside Optimus Prime. Later Optimus Prime's injuries were repaired and the Matrix of Leadership was returned to Optimus Prime which caused him to power on and then shutdown back into normal Stasis, and time was restored back to normal as it should.
The Autobots and Decepticons will awaken in 4 million years, the approximate year they will awaken will be year 1984.
Hope this helps.

A imagine if transformers prime had an episode where megatron commets on how he had weirder dreams about a purple minicon that looked like a t rex that took his spark then it was forced to give it back but it looked like predaking but a dragon. I think optimus would asked this:
Optimus: " was the one forcing him to give it back looked like me but an ape?"
Megatron: "yes? Wait how do you know that?"
Optimus: "because I dreamed of that minicon tried to kill me but a bunch of other minicons healed me, one of them the ape removed my spark, then returned it but he looked almost like me. Talked like me too"
Autobots and decepticons: (looking that their leaders confused) all at same time: "i'm sorry but what?!"
Back at autobot base
Jack: (looks to ratchet) "uuh any clue about the same things in optimus and megatron's dreams?"
Ratchet: " I have not idea"🤨
Minicons are even smaller than human children so it wouldn't be possible for Beast Megatron to be a minicon since he's larger than an average human adult male.
And Transformers Prime doesn't even take place in the same continuity as Beast Wars/G1 did.

But it's more of an what if episode idea plus I don't know the sizes of techorganics. But woulden it be cool if beast wars conect to transformers prime after all the ark is in the officailly in the canon novel and if you remember the episode some bots are missing inside the ark and are lost to the wind like arcee said.
I have acouple of ideas for a show mixing tp,beast wars, rescue bot and rescue bots academy. The first couple of episodes would be transformers prime dark but would be totally awesome.
Back in the Nemesis:
Starscream: ... So, I had a dreamt-
Megatron: For the last time, Starscream, I know that you dream of taking My place as Decepticon leader, so could You just SHUT U-!
Starscream: About animal-based minicons.
Megatron: ... Beg your pardon?
Starscream: YES! I remember now: I was wandering around this excuse of a planet when I found miself in the body of this insect-based minicon.
Knockout: So a "Mininsecticon"?
Starscream: And then, I found myself fighting this group of minicons that transformed into mammals using the... "Mininsecticon" body as My own. But I've got myself defeated at the end.
Steve: Huh. Even in your own dreams you suck as a Decepticon.
Starscream: UGH, WHY YOU LITTLE-
Megatron: Does this... Mininsecticon of yours resemble a green wasp?
Starscream: ... How did you knew that, Lord Megatron?
Megatron: ... SOUNDWAVE, OLDEST VIDEORECORDINGS OF WHEN WE CRASHED ON EARTH, *NOW!!!*
I actually remember this. Haven't thought about it in decades.
4:01 "Hey Grandpa are you there? It's me Optimus Primal your grandson!"
IT IS ME NOVA PRIME YOUR YOUNG SON AND THE MENTOR OF ULTRA MAGNUS
This show is so damn underrated.
*Who’s here after Rise of the Beasts’ trailer?*
Me
Me lol
Not exactly
So cool both primes meet
Optimus Primal is not a Prime. A transformer has to earn the Matrix of Leadership to become a Prime which Primal did not earn.
Optimus to autobots. I had a vision of the future and it was Orwellian animal farm
Hotrod: whats Orwellian
3:57 this has to be one of the most magical moments in TF history
It’s like I’m watching a CGI video game than a cartoon
4:01 My name is Optimus Primal we’re from your future.
Optimal Optimus looks his ancestor into his optics
Optimus: Not bad kid ,,😉

That toy was awesome, I had it when I was a kid.
I used to hate not having cable as a kid, looking back at it now, I'm so glad i didn't have cable like rich kids, all the best stuff was on Fox Kids, transformers, spiderman, X-Men, fantastic four, iron man, silver surfer, spiderman unlimited, hulk
4:01 Top best animated family reunions
I have a feeling these videos will become more popular among non-fans after *Rise of the Beasts*
