I'm isaaq and my family are in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Sweden, Norway, UK, US, Canada, China ect
My father is from the Isaaq tribe Somaliland. He came to the US in the 50's married my mother and refused take the white man's shit and he left. He returned when I was six and left again. I grew up in America born in the Bronx and was surrounded by Saudi Arabians at the Mosque. I am going to Somaliland my wish is that all Somalis can live in forgiveness, space there is enough room for all of us, and respect each other's tribes, and learn from one another, grow, progress and mature.
We have to grow up! No more petty fights and killing of one another live and let live in peace. We must keep the invaders from taking our land and sea ports. The thoughts count, if you think this way, so shall it be this way. Come out of your darkness. We will always be warriors and poets like Hassan. Let us carefully pick our battles. I once went on a high delegation visit to a jigjiga and met the president of region travelling with the delegation was a gentleman from sanaag
(darood -warsengali) who was a successful businessman and his partner who was (darood - ogaaden)
And this man asked the president if his partner who was suffering from a heart problem n needed a passport. The president answer shocked us and stated that warsengali had no land claim to the region and he must apply for a passport from his "own" country - somalia.
So the point why issaq live only in somaliland only is invalid. There's no single logical reason for Somalia's rejection for somaliland's independence other than their colonial mentality and animosity towards self-Governing somalilanders.they don't need somaliland for anything if they stabilise their country they can be economically better off cause they have the fertile south region,the two ports Mogadishu port and bosaso port, vast land, massive population and of course the capital Mogadishu.
