What they "once" wholeheartedly believed...makes me wonder if they truly understood or believed to begin with. If you are consistently in the word of God, and listening to Him, then spirits cannot derail your faith. Once we are genuinely called, touched and submitted to God and focus on Him, it is very difficult to depart.
1 John 2:19 "They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us." In other words, those who truly fall away never were truly saved to begin with.

Jesus said, “watch out for false prophets, there would be many! See that you are not deceived.
How would we know how to spot them?
If they do not say the same words as the way Jesus spoke. And they teach it’s ok to practice wrong doing and false doctrine; doctrines and commands Jesus did not teach.
