I can't stand her. She should go spend time with her parents. It is so unfair. Just because she's so goody goody with traces side of the family, she ignores her side of the family. It's not right. Her being all Mrs. Perfect and everything. Hell, my mother had 17 brothers and sisters. Good people. Didn't have to show out like these people do

It’s wonderful that you guys can visit Papa Bill and Momma Jane often. I love how he was saying it’s the best time of your lives. Carson is the sweetest kid and the biggest helper. Erin was moving on that little car/bike thing. I’m surprised that Ryker liked that pickle. I’m glad that you guys were able to help momma Jane with her weeds and keep her and Papa Bill company. Momma Jane loves Ryker. It’s so sweet!
On May 14th my parents will be celebrating 66 years together and now that my mom has dementia and is not able to walk because of problems with her spine I am praying for you and your family. May God help you through this time in your life. Blessings
It is awesome to see how patient Trace is with his grandfather. It is so hard when people loose their memory but Trace shows them so much kindness. Great to see Lydia feeling better and interacting so well with Trace's side of the family.

Just watching this little blog and I thought this -- what a sweet blessing and a great picture for you to have is a picture of the generations that are still living. Example: Trace -- your granddad, your dad, you, and Ryker; that 4 generations living. What a beautiful picture for you'll to and it would be a sweet blessing to look back upon and reflect upon when the picture was taken.
Love seeing Mama Jane and Poppa Bill. One amazing part of having a large family, is plenty of people to share their time and love with your grandparents. Sharing the yard chores and house cleaning would be such a blessing.. And nothing beats building memories.
Listen, I'm 55 and a long-time gardener from Chattanooga. I know exactly how much work Lydia and you did in the flower bed. What a tremendous labor of love ❤ You're living your love for Momma Jane and Papa Bill, and it's a beautiful thing to see in action.
And listen, I wanted to comment last week, but life got in the way and stuff. I saw what was done to you. We all did. It was horrible and undeserved. I want you to know that although many were cruel and irrational, there are hundreds of thousands of us who know that person and who are familiar with the antics. And there is a large group of creators here and on other platforms, calling it out in hopes of protecting those who have been hurt by that person. We knew it was untrue. We never questioned your parenting for a moment. We prayed for you, and we spoke out against the slander.

Everyone needs a grandma like Jane in their life. I love how she takes an interest in all her grandchildren's life and their hobbies. Jane is a great sweet,, kind lady. Such a massive character. . My dear mum was very much like grandma Jane. Not forgetting Papa Bill. A very intelligent man..He is a dear sweetheart. My mum unfortunately had Alzheimer's. She could hold a decent conversation and would ask lots of questions. The very sad thing is she didn't know who me or my sister was. Your baby is so adorable. Those eyes!! My dad has alzheimer's, he had to move in with my husband and I for 8 yrs until he passed. He had good and bad days. You are so blessed to still have your grandparents.

I'm so happy but so glad you got to go see them. 4 1/2 hours of driving is worth seeing them. Your creating memories not only for Ryker but for Lydia and you. To see your family to see your siblings what a wonderful visit. I know it wears her out a bit and I'm so glad all of you pitch in and cook and clean but let Lydia and Lady Jane cook a bit together its memory Lydia will always have of a grandmothers cooking. Take pictures of her recipes so you all can share special dishes you've loved as children till now. Create a History of family and health for your kids too. We are doing that now and late in the game because he didn't want his DNA out there but I've pushed long enough and finally. Issue is our family has died off and no one would tell us anything about family so thank goodness for Social Media. Thank You Trace for sharing your Grandparents and family with all of us. They are a special family.
My Mom went to heaven after over 25 years with senile dementia. Suggesting a person should remember what they can't is very stressful. Good point! ❤

I love how you all make the effort to visit Mama Jane and Papa Bill as much as possible while they are still earthside. I had 2 ,grandmother's who lived into their 80's and 90's, but my Grandfather's both died young, as did both of my parents. I'm in my 60's now and my mom died when I was 25 and never got to meet my kids. I would give anything to have had more time with them all. Ask all the questions about family stories or histories while they are still here. You don't always think about those things when you're young. Lydia and Trace, I am so impressed with you as you show your love for your family and make getting together as a priority. Blessings ❤

Lydia and Trace. Thank you so much for taking us with you when you visit your grandparents. And Lydia you dont have to pretend they are your grandparents cos they are your grandparents inlaw. I work with the eldery that have dementia, one thing you can do for papa bill is to make a small photo album with pictures of all his family members and write their names and where in line they are in the family. Plus also put in some of those questions that he asks Jane Jane all the time such as when they got married where they got married, his first jobs etc etc. He can keep it handy on the porch when he sits out there each day. Even put photos such as his first car and the farm when they shifted there. These kinds of books just helps them to remember the little things. And one last thing, never stop doing what you are doing now. Love him always. Xxx

I am born and raised right here in Spartanburg SC.😊 Mama Jane reminds me so much of my Grandma JoJo. We lost her a few years ago to ALZ. I was her in home care giver for the last 2years of her life. That being said I feel like I know what y'all are going through with your PaPa. You're right Lydia taking care of my Grandmother with ALZ was the hardest thing I've ever done emotionally. But I would do it all over again if given the chance. ☺️🙏🏼🫂💙🤍💕. **Ryker looks just like Lydia, who's absolutely BEAUTIFUL! 🤟🫂🤍💕

Lovely families with beautiful children. Ryker seems like he is all boy; so alert with his curiosity and wide-eyed wonder about the world! There may come a time when it will be too much work for your grandma to take care of your grandpa as he deteriorates, and he may have to stay in a nursing home. That would be so sad, but I have seen a caregiver partner hasten their own demise from being overburdened by taking care of their spouse. Fortunately, since there is so much family around, I’m sure any decline will be noticed and remedied quickly. Such a blessing to experience farm life and to have videos to relive the sweet memories! Hi, I’m a 62-yr old Grandmother. Looks like Riker has the same type of little rash around his mouth that my second son had. Thirty-five years ago the pediatrician prescribed a tube of Nystatin ointment. A very light application of this ointment right after washing or bathing will make his rash way better overnight. Works just as fantastically in the diaper area as well. I have three sons but only the middle son had this type of skin issue; he was also a blonde haired blue eyed baby. I don’t envy y’all. Tennessee’s roads are horrible!! Ryker is the cutest baby ever. Mama Jane puts a sweet smile on his face. I’m glad y’all can visit and share memories.

One thing I have to say all of the Bates families have beautiful children. God Bless you, I took care of my Mother who had Alzheimer’s for 9 years. You are wonderful for not forgetting them just because they have forgotten you. You will never regret spending time with them!

Trace sorry that your family is going through that with your grandpa! My dad had Alzheimer’s disease for 10yrs! My mom took care of him when he couldn’t be at home by himself! I also helped my mom take care of him when she needed a break! I remember when he would get angry it was towards his sisters when they visited! But when his brother came for a visit he was always very happy when he was here! So about 10yrs ago my mom’s doctor noticed that she had developed onset dementia and she also started her on medication early so it helps!

Love this! Spend as much time as you can with them. I love Genealogy. Some advice..... If no one has done any Genealogy work in your family, then take this time to ask your grandparents about their parents and their grandparents... Find out as much details as you can. I would give anything to ask my grandparents some questions. Record them telling stories about when they were kids. You will be so thankful down the road.
Lydia, you are amazing and how you make Trace understand dementia and how you heard that her flowers and flower beds were important and you made that a priority even though you didn’t know what was weeds or flowers were. You are a blessing!

The way Trace and his siblings are so kind to explain to Papa Bill, whose who, just warms my heart. Nice job on the flower beds; I know she appreciates the effort. I love that all of you go to Papa Bill’s and Mama Jane’s and take care of them. I spent a lot of time with my Grandma I always spent school breaks at her house and we went on summer vacations with her. She passed away right after I graduated high school. She was an amazing person. We were raised in a Baptist household and my grandma was a missionary she went to The Philippines to be a teacher for many years. It touches my heart that all of you go help them. I will be praying for all of you

You guys, well the Bates family as a whole are an awesome & wonderful family. I’ve worked in healthcare all my life. At one point I worked with dementia and Alzheimer’s patients, they are awful diagnoses. As Lydia said, it is exhausting mentally and emotionally. Especially when it’s a loved one. There were PLENTY shifts I worked that were incredibly hard, and exhausting. There were plenty of them that I was physically tired as well. I love being able to see PaPa Bill and MaMa Jane in everyone’s videos, so thank you for sharing all the videos. ❤️

I go over to my mother in laws house and help her with the things that she needs done. We never know how long our love one's will be here with us. My mother in law calls me her handyman. I'm always thinking of her. I love her so much. I'm enjoying your channel. It's beautiful at your grandparents house ❤
