    Thanks for your continued dedication to the golf sim industry Roland. Just wanted to mention here that the Par2Pro screen you referred to around the 5 min mark is our previous screen called HQ. We have since moved to a new screen called SQ-W (Super Quiet Widescreen) which is a completely different screen. We have dedicate a lot of time custom-making this to be the best possible screen available. Looking forward to getting that in front of you whenever you have the opportunity.

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Totally understand that. I will preface everything with the fact that I had that HQ screen for over 5 years and it held strong until the day I took it down. The only reason it came down was because I moved. I do not doubt the quality of Par2Pro's screens in any way. Hopefully one day down the road we can get a review in on your newer screen product.

    Excellent review - so seldom a reviewer will take the time to make a fair, balanced analysis that includes different pricing/quality options. I went with the DIY SIG10 which has a bit different size (8' x 10'6" x 5'). Well, once I received the actual documentation it turns out it is 8'4" high from floor to the top of the pole and it's actually closer to 10'10" in length measuring from the outside of the poles. OTOH if needed, one can always cut the EMT pipes to accommodate the room size - the part of the room with the enclosure is only 8'3" high. I was able to "snug" the bungee cords to pull up the slack when shortening the EMT pipes a bit, perhaps a nice option offering flexibility over the otherwise better poles you recommend... and much lighter as you pointed out. Happy trails.

      Thank you so much for your comments. I always keep things as real and fair as possible here on the channel. I'm glad you liked your enclosure. They have recently uploaded manuals for each of the DIY enclosures with all instructions, parts lists, dimensions which makes things a lot easier as well. Have a great one and hit em straight!

    Hi there. Do you know if their DIY Golf Simulator Enclosure is made of the same materials as as their SIG12? Specifically, the sides, ceiling, and side netting?

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  Před 7 měsíci

      Everything minus the poles and connector pieces are the exact same quality. The poles would be purchased at a home improvement store and would be made out of 1" metal conduit instead of a lighter weight aluminum style pole with snap in connectors. Reach out to me if you are looking to do a build and we'll go over everything together. My services are completely free of charge and I don't sell anything directly. Roland@MyGarageGolf.com. Great video and channel! One quick note on your driver - it looks like you're setting up very heel side. I only recently found out your driver should be centered on the sweetspot when you hover the club behind the ball, then you can drop it down to let it rest on the turf after that. It may look very toe side, but that's actually the correct alignment. Hope to help!

    Which projector did you use and where did you mount it for the sig10? My projector is 11ft away from screen, and about 9.5 ft floor to projector and I can’t figure out how to fix the black rectangle that is being cut off the top of the screen. Can you tell me more about your setup? Thanks in advance!

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  Před 18 dny +1

      I am using the Panasonic VMZ51U Projector you can find here: mygaragegolf.com/product/panasonic-vmz51u-laser-golf-simulator-projector/
      I have it mounted about 13 feet away. The best advice depending on your projector is to move it back to make the image larger where it covers the entire screen. If you projector has corner correct, you can use it to shrink the sides down back to within the screen size. You have to cover the height and then shrink the width down, that's the only real way to do it. In order to accomplish this you must have a projector with corner correct feature however. Ultra Short throw projectors will not have this feature typically.

    • @alec7100
      @alec7100 Před 17 dny +1

      Thanks for the quick reply! That is very helpful. I’ll try that and explore the projector you’re using otherwise. One last thing, what is your floor to projector measurement? By floor, I am referring to the base of the enclosure itself so probably your putting green to projector measurement

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  Před 17 dny +1

      @@alec7100 About 9 feet or so. You typically want to mount your projector about the top part of the enclosure in regards to matching that height. I have a drop down pole for mine. The more you have to tilt the projector at an angle the more likely you develop keystone issues.

    Have you ever had any balls go through the enclosure at the Velcro seams in the right corner? I have another enclosure and shanks will definitely go through the Velcro seams themselves. Incredibly annoying. Thanks!

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  Před 5 měsíci

      No, never had any issues like that with this setup. There is a large protective pad that covers the corners and the poles so there are no ricochets and this padding also prevents corner shots or golf balls escaping the enclosure. It is a very well thought out design. Reach out to me at roland@mygaragegolf.com if you are looking to place an order, have any questions or would like any up close photos, etc.

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  Před 2 měsíci

      Certainly not the cheapest but you get what you pay for from my experience. The last thing you want is a screen or padding you are having to replace once a year or even more. Not all enclosures/screens are created equal and the really cheap ones won't last. I had my last screen for 6 years without having to replace!

    Not using your real balls defeats having a sim. If you just use any ball then your speeds, spins will be off😊

    • @GarageGolf
      @GarageGolf  Před 6 měsíci

      Well me personally I use whatever I can get on the course but I totally understand your point. To be fair even the QED can use any ball you want provided you add the appropriate stickers to the golf ball if needed. The ones that come with it are Bridgestone balls. The EYE MINI can use any ball as well without stickers.

    • @Lefishn
      @Lefishn Před 6 měsíci +1

      @GarageGolf just got my projector finally so I just need to make sure I keep clean balls for the screen. My downside is I switched to ProV1x Left Dash so those are more rare and expensive. Guess I'll only use when doing yardage testing and spin testing.

      Have you tested both side by side? Just curious where you are getting your info. What features or feature do you like more about one over the other? What do you feel about quality of screens on both enclosures? Are you talking about the DIY Carl's Place enclosure where you source your own poles or did you purchase one where they shipped their EMT conduit to you? If so what do you feel is better about an enclosure where you use tools to put it together versus one that snaps into place and is color coordinated for ease of installation such as with the SIG enclosure product? Let me know exactly what you feel is better when you get an opportunity. As someone who has tested multiple enclosures and setups over the past 7 years I'd love to hear your honest thoughts on this.
