my great grandfather was a logger in northern NY, and I have a picture of him and my mother sitting on a cabin porch somewhere, sapling railings, and those high snake boots. He wore them even in town. This video brought back fond memories. He had a ‘39 Buick he would let me “shift” it. I was 4/5 years old at the time. Thanks
Pete, went thru WV and Virginia and couple weeks ago headed to NC to see my son before he deployed. I travel 64 and saw at least two if not three different areas being clear cut. Made me think about ya. Be safe and I really enjoy your videos.
Driving through West Virginia years ago saw those folks putting up hay on ground I’d have trouble walking on... Them’s some crazy grades! Thanks & Blessings Pete!
Looks like some good skill both on the saw and dozer. This is close to where I was born and raised in Southern Calhoun County WV. I was born not far from the Braxton County line and went to school at Arnoldsburg. Been through the Duck area many times and knew some people who lived there.
What county in West Virginia is Duck in? Never heard of it and I am originally from there until 2006. I would have cut the poplar back about mid-screen in the video, or at least it looks to me like a poplar.
Duck is an unincorporated community along the border of Braxton County and Clay County in West Virginia, United States. Duck is 11.5 miles northeast of Clay.
Hey Nuts long time no chat sry but here in the Philippines we are still under modified quarantine just wondering how much of that hillside u are going log off if all of it why not fall the timber and bring in a small larder that way no erosion of the hill side from road building
What a beautiful piece of property. Thanks for a great video.
