Bosnian Bill did a really funny video like this about master locks
He’s like the cool kid in school that opened the locker by smacking it
Masterlock makes a shim resistant lock.
LPL: "Yeah, but is it balanced for strength builds?"
I install lockers into school facilities, a lot of times when we are replacing damaged lockers from anchoring points there are kids that will leave locks on their lockers because they are being lazy about the notice or forget. This is how we actually remove most school locks. It works pretty much all the time, masterlocks are generally the lock of choice for high schoolers as well. Hopefully they don't change their locks, this makes our job really easy.
The lockers at my school actually had a really bad design to them. The sheet metal that paired together for the lock to mount on had a sloped upper edge. You could flip the lock up and pull on the top of the locker to hold it in place, you would then kick the lock hard against the locker and that sloped bit would lever the shackle out of the lock. Often would just break the lock, but would work on roughly 80% of the locks in the school. Kids would have their lockers broken into constantly because of this flaw in the locker design.
When I was in school and we were allowed to use our own locks (mainly gym lockers) I was the kid with the squire. The rest of the lockers had the stupid built in combination locks that you had to turn clockwise past the third number to unlatch, except you only needed to use the first 2 numbers then turn clockwise until it opened.
Out janitors just used what I assume is a lock cutter but instead of cutting he'd put this thing in between the shackles or whatever it's called and just break it off
Our school had a pair of heavy duty bolt cutters and literally just cut the locks off the lockers - the tolerances for the locks were such that there aren't many locks you can buy with a shackle that thin that you cant cut with a giant set of bolt cutters, and no one really paid that much for their locks

Just picked my first commercial grade lock!! The calmness and methodical style espoused by Mr LPL helped a lot. It was a Masterlock, and it was worth every $0.01 of the purchase price to get that click. Started off needing to pick my window locks - here in Aus it's a legal requirement to have window locks on apartments above ground floor - stuck indoors last year I needed those locks off to breathe. Those didn't need any skill, just blunder about at the end with a random pick. However with the Masterlock it required the full ritual - bottom of the keyway tension; sequential 'nothing on one, click out of two, three is binding, nudging four and then 'CLICK' it's open :) Very satisfying.
The number of locks that can be undone by a medium light tap of a hammer is astounding.
