    Thank you for this video it was quite helpful, I currently have Waves L3 ultramaximizer and love it. But would you recommend Ozone instead of Waves for reducing CPU for performing Live Looping routine . or would Ozone have more CPU just has the low latency mode?

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  Před 4 lety

      For the lowest latency, I like the Waves L3 LL. It seems to be less resource intensive than Ozone, although not packed with as many features

    • @SeanDivine

      OZ8 advanced gives you a few extra modules (analog tape, vintage compressor, etc.) Standard is still very capable though!

    I use the fabfilter Pro-L2, but it's so complicated. There are tons of things you can do, and many things that you SHOULD do without question. I just can't seem to get the overall loudness that I need. I set the LUFS level, and the overall level sits right around 0dB. When I listen to my songs on CZcams, they are still lower in volume that other songs. I don't want to crush the transients, so it's just one block. How do you get the loudness in your final mixes? Maybe I should try a different limiter?

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  Před 6 lety

      CrassPunk99 it depends but I typically try to keep my mixes between -12 to -9 RMS and then masters should be between -10 to -7 to compete commercially

      @Lil_Off Před 6 lety

      Sean Divine I wanna start buying better plug ins, and was wondering if I should invest in more acoustic treatment before I buy them but I also see a lot of famous artists don’t always use acoustic treatment but just a reflection filter

    Bro the limiters will color less with less threshold and limiting. Try to boost your input into the limiter f on source, Pro tools calls it clip gain. Most mastering engineers I have shadowed use analog gain to boost the volume of the track not pull the threshold down hella db’s for “ loudness “. The limiter stays set pretty much and they work into it. I am an Apple approved mastered for iTunes mastering engineer, am trying to help.

    • @Dhalvs
      @Dhalvs Před 5 lety

      Really good one!! But on the latest version there is, sometimes, an annoying white noise sound in the background. It happens when the threshold is on the limit...which is really strange, because the older version was just perfect to get that punch on drums!

  • @ProducerVibes
    @ProducerVibes Před 6 lety

    So industry standard for loudness is somewhere around 8-6 RMS ?

    • @SeanDivine

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  Před 5 lety +1

      in my experience, Ozone is one of the most transparent limiters out there for drums. That said, any limiter will squash your dynamics when used excessively / improperly
