Hello Hammond Racing!!! GREAT video!!! I actually understood your explanations of the transmission and braking systems and loved the Hammond Bros. Racing history!!! At the end Big Walt mentioned that they enjoy when fans stop by after the race to chat and ask questions and I can personally attest to that. No matter what type of outcome they had, everyone one of the Hammonds are very gracious when talking to their fans. Myself, "California Dave" and Jeff truly appreciate your time and willingness to explain whatever we would ask. I, as a "newbie", really appreciate that and the fact that BW & LW break it down and don't get all "techie" with explanations. Happy New Year, safe travels to Florida and best of luck down there!!!
Thank you Dave! We are so glad that you have enjoyed are videos and enjoyed the races when you came! We had a lot of fun getting to know you and answering all of your questions!
Thanks for another great video…appreciate the inside view of the simplicity AND complexity of having a dirt car. Good luck in ‘22!
You’re very welcome! We are glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! If you ever have any questions please feel free to ask!
Great video guys!! Excellent content of racing transmissions and how they work. Please share with us your trip down to Florida and life on the road hauling the race cars. Good luck guys and have fun!
Thank you for the comment as always Dave! We are glad you enjoyed it!
Great video. 👍 thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and experiences 🙏
You’re welcome! We are glad you enjoyed it! 🏁
Thank you
You’re welcome!!
Happy New Year
Thank you! Same to you! Are you doing anything fun?
Lounging after New Year celebration I happened to find your site. I backed checked videos from a year ago and forward and like your presentations so I subbed up. Down here in NJ I closely follow the racing Billy Pauch teams, 1 and 2 along with Mike Mehaney. Your Dad/Son team is much like them. Maybe the best sponsor is fans. If we hit our local tracks it helps pay that $2000-$2500 weekly win purse that gets you guys to put on a great show. Have a safe and fun New Year! See you at the track.🏁
The more fans in the stands makes it more fun for us too! That definitely helps. Glad you came across our channel! Thanks for subscribing! If you ever have any questions let us know! Thanks again!
I picked up on Big Walt saying "once we get a big block". I've noticed Little Walt looking at the 358's roll by with what looks like a tad bit of envy. So, any plans to make the jump? Guess I'll find out as I keep watching your videos!
We would love to jump into something with more horsepower! Unfortunately with the cost of things it seems a bit unrealistic at this point in time. Eventually, it’ll all come together! If there was a 358 division that raced closer to home then it’d make the jump easier.
Best explanation of shifting gears I've seen so far. If I understand correctly, there's no way to "push in the clutch" in the event of a spin out / crash. Doesn't that cause damage to the drive train and engine if the car quickly rolls in reverse?
Thank you! Yes, you’re correct; potentially there is that chance. That’s why we always try to make sure to hold the brake so we don’t roll back.thanks again for watching! Please let us know if there is anything else you’d like us to talk about!
@@HustlingtheHighside Could you do a video on the rear suspension, such as what makes the rear rise up when accelerating (does that only happen using tortion bars)? Thanks.
@@DanUpdegraff of course! That’s a great topic! Thank you for the idea!
Are there any plans to go to Grandview Speedway in Pa. or Bridgeport Speedway in NJ. ?
We would love to race down there, but unfortunately at this time we don’t have any plans to go down there. Maybe at the end of the season! We will keep you updated!
@@HustlingtheHighside Thank You!
Hand Brake was pit breaking We only have 2 feet So 1 foot for throttle and 1 foot for the clutch and you needed 1 more to stop so that's why we had a handle for brakes There was also a foot pedal for racing
Thank you for explaining more! It's so interesting how things have evolved.
