  • Since I have it out of the IMCA Modified, I figured I would give a brief overview of my PULL BAR and how it works. This isn't an in depth set up explanation of what to do and when, but more for giving you the general idea of how it works within the suspension system of your car. I still have more to get finished before the Halloween Race, and it may turn into a rush. But here we go.

That chassis maybe lapped out ! Your length of your pull bar does control when traction starts and stops ! Pull bars are a tricky control device to get them to work your really have to understand what color pucks you use how they are placed on the pull bar, and the tires you run you need all the help you can give them, that shock will not stop that from happening ! You would be better off with a chain because you will never be ever fast enough to stop it from happening !

I haven’t in a mod sense 2015 I’m sure not to much on this has changed. I tried all kinds of springs rubber bushings. I did find that I liked the pull bar being a not too long not too medium length not to short The track at the time didn’t have pacific springs or rubber biscuits. On smaller smoother tracks are used to pretty small orange springs with two rubber biscuit for the breaking when you get on the throttle the car instantly jumps up in the back so you have to be a little slower on the throttle .I ended up getting one of those three-way pole bars loved it it took a little while getting it dialed in figuring out what to springIt’s aggressive spring 100% was the way around many different types of shocks on top of the pool bar 1090 I like the best.. I definitely wasn’t the best driver or had the best of everything. Always had older cars than ever body else which was fine with me Had an older Harris I turned into a 4 bar it worked great . Putting an indicator bar somehow on there would be first thing to do that way you can determine what biscuit you need I’m no pro with that I just did what Worked for me really like your channel you work on your car the same type of situation on how I work with on my car which is more realistic most of the guys

Thank you! Glad you like the channel. When I was going through all this I was thinking to myself that I need a travel indicator to help get things dialed in. Would definitely be a big help instead of just guessing by what the car feels like. This car is the first time I've run biscuits, and I think I like it the best so far in the way that it drives. But I never had as many mechanical issues with a spring pull bar.... a little give a little take. Thanks for the comment and info!

If you like the pullbar setup, look into a dandy bar

Thanks! I had looked at it once before, my main concern was that it is enclosed with some small areas that would let dirt in. I wasn't too sure if that would get packed with dirt and mud and affect performance. Do you or someone you know run one? Had good luck with it?

@@wadelumsden1548 we have had good luck with it on the old car , slick track works well and ton of drive with moisture. Did not tear it down often but, it allows you to change bushing setups easily. We race mostly where the track is hard packed and drys up quick. When the black laid down it latched

Ok, Cool. I will probably take a look at it over the off season. and yea, that RR chain makes a huge difference. Got myself in trouble making it too tight once. If its too tight and you hit a hole... man it upsets the car in a bad way.
