Per Capita, no Californian city is on the top 100 Safest places to live in America 2022. The only time Irvine has been "considered" the safest city to live is based off of votes that have zero data to back it up. Opinion articles claiming it's safe. Meanwhile factual studies with actual data it's not the safest at all. The houses cost a lot but aren't well built because the majority of them were built in the 90's or after. The housing market in Irvine is absurd to pay a million+ for houses that are small and poorly built. Real Estate Agents in these parts are Scam Artists and don't know the first thing of construction, yet list a house that is worth 300k with no property for 1.2million.

men you you can google in 5 seconds. safety cities in America rate per 100,000 residents. You have several CA cities in the first 10, Irvine number 13. It would have take you less than writing all that crap

There is some merit in what @TommyMcD said in regards to build quality, but I can't say that other communities are built any better. Just because a newer construction is in Irvine doesn't mean that the build quality is good. It depends on the builder as well. When you buy in Irvine, you're really buying for the family-oriented lifestyle that it offers--safer community, higher perceived quality of living, and an area that is somewhat less resistant to home value drops. I personally live in Irvine. Do I like it? For a single male--no. If I had a family with kids, yes. There's no night life in Irvine. Neighbor is dark and quiet after 7pm as kids prep for bedtime. Neighbors here mostly have kids, so they don't "party." Kind of boring if you ask me.

Not close ta a maybe. I've seen more violence per capita in Santa Ana and I've been in some a the most sketchiest hoods there.
