Amanda Brown performs River at Rockwood Music Hall

Amanda Brown brought her talent back to New York this week. I was fortunate to see both her first night back at the Village Underground and her Christmas show at Rockwood Music Hall. Unfortunately, my camera's battery died on the first song at VU. I was better prepared for the Rockwood. There were so many great Christmas songs, but this one was particularly touching, with Amanda supported solely by the sensitive piano work of Rob Lewis.

Yes, this is one of my favorite Joni Mitchell songs and it blew me away to hear her do this. I had heard her sing (and accompany herself on guitar to) Big Yellow Taxi previously, but choosing a song like this reveals her depth.
