The first time I came across this song was in grade 6. We sang this for one of our school programs and that's the time I have been listening to it. I am 21 today and it brings back those days when I was a kid.. Beautiful that it forced me to come back here.
This was my friends and I childhood song. This released a year before we went off to middle school and we stopped being friends during those years since we both made two different groups of friend. Now, we're in our last year of high school and I made it to honors and Advanced Placement and she went off and got pregnant her Freshman year. A lot of shit changes but I wished her all the best when she dropped out and this song remains our song till this day.

It took me 18 years to finally find this for myself. I never thought I would. But I finally found my best friend last year that makes me believe in the gift of a friend. I wouldn’t trade her for the world. Life has a funny way of bringing people into your life at the exact time you need it when you least expect it and when you never even realized you needed them. I am so thankful for her.

I'm so blessed to have friends I can truly count on. I've been to several schools in our place, and this one school just made everything better. I experienced bullying, and got into the wrong set of friends. My life, I can say, is pretty messed up. So my trust issues increased, and my self-esteem dropped. All I did was compare my life to others, without recognizing my own worth. When I transferred to this school, the environment just felt so good. The people we're nice, and they just made me love myself more. I'm so proud of what I've grown into, and how I have these people who are willing to walk with me till the very end. It may be temporary but I'll treat them like they're the most precious and last set of friends I have. They're so important to me, and I wish I get to be with them longer. 💞

This reminds me of my friend, she always told lies to me. However, she was such a magnificent friend and we always laughed together; I will always remember her cos she sent people in out and out of my life that are utterly amazing and she boosted my confidence levels from zero to ten. All the lies and the stupid squabbles are only from the bad brought up becuase her mother died when she was 8 and her house had got set fire to.

personally, i believe in the gift of a friend, its rare but it does exist and when u find it, your entire life literally brightens up but at the same time this friendship can cause u deep sadness and grief if lost or something, though a true friend would never intentionally leave u behind. :)
