CC is your best friend ;) for BTS songs. The song is basically a very classy slap in the face and middle finger salute to their haters. If you haven't watched it yet, watch "From Nobodies to Legends" By xCeleste. She gives a very good explanation on WHY their music is the way it is. Be prepared though, even if you are straight, you will fall in love with BTS once you've seen it.

The mama performance is awesome bc of the dance breaks, but the first comeback show (I think it was the first can’t remember with program?) is still really dope.

So Mic Drop is basically a diss track for their haters, in which they flex about their success. They have received lots of hate, both from the underground hip-hop scene (where RM and Suga started) and fans from the k-pop scene (because they started out as artists from a small company that basically challenged the established labels). The live video you found is a Bangtan Bomb, which is basically behind-the-scene material their company releases. (Sometimes it's rehearsals or recordings of perfomances, often it's just some random fun stuff). They basically have two different types of dance practice videos (which are usually recorded in their practice room): serious ones that show the finished choreography for a song and funny ones where they do special versions (in Halloween costumes, for example). I would recommend watching the serious dance practices first to see what skill level they have, for example (in chronological order): Boy in Luv, Danger, Fire, Dope, DNA, Blood, sweat and tears, Fake Love, Idol. They also have some special dance videos from the early years, which are on another level: a performance practice from 2013 czcams.com/video/j2rS6vXApF0/video.html and a concept trailer practice from 2013 czcams.com/video/m7QNUWXoO_s/video.html and the Intro Performance Trailer from 2015, which their company released after the show they had performed at had done such bad camera work that you couldn't actually see the dance moves properly czcams.com/video/hoTBL39i60M/video.html. By the way, many of the dance moves aren't just random, they actually mirror the theme/story of the song or certain imagery in the lyrics.

Yassss, Kudos! You just named off many of my very favorite choreos/videos - including the ones that don't get a lot of love like the Concept Trailer (love this one so much) and Intro Trailer - omg yes! Boy in Luv, Dope, and Fire are also in my top 5 of favorite choreos. I feel like he should see the MVs of Dope and Fire though before watching the dance practices but imo he could totally watch the dance practice of Boy In Luv before the MV (least fav MV sorry!). They'll all get on his list sometime!

@@LillianOglethorpe Yeahhhh, some of their MVs are amazing and need to be seen first, but some of their MVs are just kinda "okay" but the song and choreography are amazing. Their early MVs weren't like their videos are now for sure, and you could skip to the DP for most of them. A couple years later though and MVs like Dope and Fire MVs are "must see", IMO - well and almost every video since then, heh. :)

Whenever I introduce someone to Boy In Luv or Danger I go straight to the DP. The one down side is that the audio quality is not as great for Danger. It’s still worth it to me though.

Ok so this one is an answer to all the haters if you actually watch the scene near the end you can see the bodies burning in the sky. So to not trigger ARMY, dont say they look like girls, dont compare them to groups such as Nsync or 1D and basically watch them with an open mind. They all have different personalities and different talents. They have lived together for 8 years now and they think of each other as family. They are also very humble and massive dorks.

Mic Drop doesn't have an official dance practice. I believe that this is from a rehearsal on stage, the day of performance. You'll notice people in the audience because the venues will admit a limited audience for rehearsals.

The last part was the Comeback show (what we call when a new album drops). This was the original, before Steve Aoki remixed it. Any of the dance practices are excellent. I would recommend Fire, IDOL, or Blood, Sweat, & Tears.

Extra fan here! Idol trainees have to go through multiple auditions just to become trainees. Even after they become trainees, some of them have to go through survival shows where they could be eliminated. The whole process to debut is just stressful and they're worked extremely hard.

There's a Korean program or show that's called " Becoming Idol" and it is a competition of if I remember right, of about 500 people and it's like a 3 months or so boot camp and they weed it down to about 100 members to be later on paired off to make a group of Boys and Girls. Then once they get into groups, they go on to becoming trainees, and then getting sponsorship and so on. Their boot camp is harsh to say the least. But what do you expect when they produce groups like BTS and so on.

One proof to show how hard it is to be a idol in kpop industry = Produce 101. There are 3 seasons. In total there was 101 contestants and in the end only 11 become to be members in a group. 😁

the process to become an idol is different than anywhere else because u dont audition for a group u audition for a COMPANY then u move into a dorm away from your family and friends not seeing them for very long periods of time sometimes years they then start to train and train and train and by train while still going to school mostly middle and high school remember that they also take dance classes, vocal classes, acting classes,classes on how to do interviews and classes on how to act on variety shows, classes on how to pose for pictures and modeling, and general music clssses if and i do mean if u r lucky u only train for a yr some have trained as long as 10 yrs when ur company thinks ur ready they put u in a group...and u train some more then u get a debut but these classes arent free most idol groups dont pull any real profit back until their 5th yr after debut by then u have paid everything back maybe but again while all this is happening u r still going to regular school...

When the started 2013 the came from a small Company whid no Money, the had to borrow clothes and use Managers and Producers in there Mv, all 7 guys also sleept in one room- The have live together for 8 years but today the live in the most expensive apartment in Korea, the see theme self like Brothers. The have a show for us Armys called Run it shows evry week. This guys are so humble and funny. We get to see there holiday in Bon Voyage 1 The go to Scandinavia, Bon Voyage 2 Hawai, Bon Voyage 3 Malta. Bts also have a lot off dance videos like, Danger, Boy In Luv, Fire, I Need You, Blood Sweet and tears, and also the songs you Watch are in dance videos

The comeback shows are really good ways to see all the choreo on a stage. The camera work is always on point and it’s just perfection. Please bring your friend back to enjoy the comeback shows! Like, the anpanman comeback show, airplane pt. 2 comeback show (or stage), the mic drop one is one of my fave comeback stage performances. Every possible comeback stage to be honest lol. Koreans are notoriously hard workers. They will study dancing, singing, beauty care, acting, how to behave in public, how to address the camera, and English language classes (to varying extents). It’s typical for trainees to be in middle school or high school, so in addition to all the work listed, they have classes (often at a performing arts school). To accommodate all of this, a student-trainee’s day can start at 5am and end at 1am the next day. There are often monthly evaluations, so the time leading up to that gets even more focused.
Contracts can be five years to up to ten years long. The company assumes the cost of your acting, vocal, and dance coaches, your make up and hair stylists, food, and lodging. So breaking that contract could be very expensive.
In all of this, there is no guarantee that you will debut, and no telling when. Jo Kwon of 2nd Generation Kpop group ‘2AM’ trained for eight years prior to debut.
Through the whole process, the company is looking for who has hidden/developing talent, but they are also looking at how you get along with others, and how you relate to the public (there will be performances and engagements to test that). If any kind of scandal surfaces (sex scandal, drunk driving, drugs...) the whole thing comes crashing down. The culture is very protective of the youth, and expectations are very high for the example idols must set. So bottom line, being a trainee is about discipline and education.
All of that said, time frames do vary. Jimin arrived at BigHit Ent in early 2013, was eventually placed within BTS, and the group debuted in June of that year. Things went similarly for B.A.P.’s Daehyun. He was scouted at a performing arts high school and joined the group shortly before debut as well. (That boy can WAIL the high notes. I’ve seen him stick it live in concert twice. No studio auto tune necessary.)
Mic Drop:
Is part of a series of diss tracks aimed at haters. When you react to some of the background videos you’ll understand that better. I highly suggest you follow this up by reacting to the 2017 MAMA’s performance of Mic Drop. (MAMA = Mnet Asian Music Awards.) That thing was lit af and had three, count ‘em THREE added dance breaks. The sauce was allllll over the place in that one.
One side note: in the event that you should desire to learn the choreo to Mic Drop, the second video is perfect because that’s actually the mirrored version. Just thought I’d save you the hassle of working to flip it, only to find that you’d taken it back to the original view.

I grew up dancing from 4 years old training in street and classical as well as doing performing arts ( singing lessons and acting lessons ) and had to have a clean cut background whilst doing all of this and if the U.K had an an equivalent to the idol process I would have jumped to the opportunity! ( but all they had was factor and all those silly t.v shows which are so fake it's unbelievable. So I got put off and decided to change careers when I was like 21 haha
The more I learn about the Idol process as well as how much hard work and discipline they have to go through my respect for them just gets higher and higher ( and I don't even know how that is possible haha )

How mad is it to be an idol? I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong... But, there's an audition process. When a person is signed by a company they are considered a trainee. Then, the company will invest in them by training them in dance and singing. Meanwhile, the trainee may not debut for years. There is a case I read about where some guy was kept as a trainee for 6 years. Trainees work long, hard days.
The management company will house them and feed them and they're often on strict diets. Early on (see Rookie King Rooftop Confessions ) Jin complained to the company because he wanted more meat. And their days are completely structured with lessons, photo shoots, practice, etc-- leaving no time to see their families/friends.
RM was signed in 2010 and debuted in 2013. Jimin was the last to join the company in early 2013 and debuted in June.
Oh wow I just read this with my friend in the video and we were both shocked but also fascinated as when we were younger that was the sort of life that we wanted haha but now that we are older and a bit wiser we get how that can end up being very stressful at times or very tiring not having control over your own life.

Ye, some idols have been trainees for 10 yrs like Jihyo from Twice. Some are scouted or audition from a young age, they need to balance school and training lessons. It is stressful, most just end up quitting. Once they get chosen and debut, they wont have much time for their families and friends.
Just a small correction: Jimin joined in May 2012.
@@realtalk8092 In the intro/guide I watched it said that Jimin was the last to join and that he joined 4 months prior to debut. That's why he didn't get much voice coaching.
@@cynthiaperez2232 Then the intro/guide you watched is wrong. ;) He was indeed the last member to join BTS - but in May 2012. This is a well-known fact in the fandom. Jimin himself (and his father) confirms the date in a Run BTS episode - Jimin calls his father up to ask the exact date he moved from Busan to live in the BigHit dorms. I believe the exact date was May 6, 2012.
