This is the best falconry video I have ever seen on CZcams. It really captures the full range of emotions that can happen in this sport. Flying a goshawk is definitely near the top of my bucket list. Karen was an absolute legend! May she rest in peace.
I could feel the emotion from all 3 of you. people think hunting animals aren't loved like house pets but they are wrong they are loved much more they have a primal bond that some don't understand. rip
@@njfalconry Yeah, that Goshawk was exceptional, that's for sure. She excelled at a wide variety of game. She disproved the myths, that white birds can't "turn-on-a-dime" and won't crash into thick cover. Your excellent footage proved that!
Ive never seen a goshawk as tenacious as Karen when it comes to the hunt. truly a 1 in a million bird, thank you for sharing your experience with her with us
Sorry for your loss.. I’m thinking about getting into falconry in NJ and this video just gave me a reality check on things that can go wrong that’s out of anyone’s control.. the attachment and bonds.. the heartbreak.. I felt pain for you.. she’s amazing.. god bless bro.. RIP KAREN
Such a magnificent hunter! It's easy to see how much you loved her, and the bond between the two of you was obvious and mutual. She enjoyed making you happy with her skill! You have my sincere condolences on such a terrible loss.😪
Man that hurts!! I love your videos bro!! I grew up loving birds of prey! I live in maryland and we have tons, through research I came across the “goshawk”! I call it the “peregrine falcon of the woods”! Such stunning birds! She was a beauty! Sorry for your loss
Omg that's crazy. I watch u guys on tik tok all the time. I had to come over here to see what in the world happened. So so so sorry for ur lost. I appreciate all the memories we're gonna have tho. She was a bad ass at what she did, best thing is she loved it.
@@njfalconry hello again, I am 15 years old and have almost a year of experience in this art, I have already experienced that loss, but from what I think and what I have learned, these losses serve to strengthen us, and not abandon falconry, greetings from Uruguay , this message is translated
Wow I am so sorry for your loss. She was a BEAST! That’s gotta be tough either way but she was certainly living her best life possible with you up until the very end! This may sound odd but have you thought of mounting her? Everyone has their own opinions on taxidermy but there is a guy on CZcams called The Art of Taxidermy that does absolutely incredible work with birds of prey. I think it would be the best way to honor the bird but to each his own. Either way you did an amazing job with that bird and can’t wait to see what’s next! I’m going into my second year as an apprentice and would love to someday fly a goshawk!
was it a collision? great hawk what a ripper...its never easy to lose a bird especially one so good and one so much work was invested love the rest of the video tho

Yes I wanted to get her mounted but the state will not allow it unfortunately. I would need to donate her to an educational facility
Nj Falconry Ah man that’s too bad. What’s their reasoning? You’d think the law would allow it for licensed Falconers.
😢😢
Sorry ! It's tough losing a great game hawk.
One of the worst feelings imaginable
Sehr Schade!
Just a Falconer know this pain 😢
was it a collision? great hawk what a ripper...its never easy to lose a bird especially one so good and one so much work was invested love the rest of the video tho
Yes at the end of the video the silver booth is what she flew into. The rabbit took cover underneath it
Oh my gosh I feel so sorry for her! Karen was a good hawk until she died😢😢😭😨😰💦☔️🌊💧
😨😰😰😭😭😖😖😖
Karen was an amazing and beautiful gos. Do you mind me asking, which breeder did you get her from? Was she an imprint or parent raised?
😰
Wow! Karen was great to watch. Did she injured herself is that why she died?
felt very bad ... how it happened..?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😲🙄
How did she pass away ? 🤦🏾♂️
What happen?
What happened?
She flew into that silver booth during a rabbit chase
😢😢
